The OFFICIAL LT>LJ THREAD
As a public service to some of you ignorant Chiefs fans I have decided to update you weekly with the greatness that is LaDanian Tomlinson.
LaDanian Tomlinson is only half a year older than Larry Johnson but while Larry Johnson was whining and pouting because his white Super Bowl winning coach couldnt couldnt relate to him LT was busy putting up awesome years behind a weak Chargers offensive line. LT is, was, and will always be a better RB than LJ Tomlinson +--------------------------+-------------------------+ | Rushing | Receiving | +----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+ | Year TM | G | Att Yards Y/A TD | Rec Yards Y/R TD | +----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+ | 2001 sdg | 16 | 339 1236 3.6 10 | 59 367 6.2 0 | | 2002 sdg | 16 | 372 1683 4.5 14 | 79 489 6.2 1 | | 2003 sdg | 16 | 313 1645 5.3 13 | 100 725 7.2 4 | | 2004 sdg | 15 | 339 1335 3.9 17 | 53 441 8.3 1 | | 2005 sdg | 16 | 339 1462 4.3 18 | 51 370 7.3 2 | | 2006 sdg | 11 | 258 1324 5.1 23 | 51 470 9.2 3 | +----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+ | TOTAL | 91 | 1960 8507 4.4 95 | 393 2862 7.3 11 | +----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+ Seasons among the league's top 10 Rushes: 2001-3, 2002-2, 2004-6, 2005-5, 2006-3 Rushing yards: 2001-9, 2002-2, 2003-3, 2004-7, 2005-6, 2006-1 Rushing TDs: 2001-4t, 2002-5, 2003-6, 2004-1, 2005-3, 2006-1 Receptions: 2003-4 Yards from scrimmage: 2001-9, 2002-3, 2003-1, 2004-5t, 2005-5, 2006-1 Rush/Receive TDs: 2001-10t, 2002-6, 2003-3t, 2004-2, 2005-3, 2006-1 Among the league's all-time top 50 Rushes: 28 Rushing yards: 24 Rushing TDs: 8 Yards from scrimmage: 43 Rush/Receive TDs: 13 Larry Johnson (AKA DiaperBoy) +--------------------------+-------------------------+ | Rushing | Receiving | +----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+ | Year TM | G | Att Yards Y/A TD | Rec Yards Y/R TD | +----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+ | 2003 kan | 6 | 20 85 4.2 1 | 1 2 2.0 0 | | 2004 kan | 10 | 120 581 4.8 9 | 22 278 12.6 2 | | 2005 kan | 16 | 336 1750 5.2 20 | 33 343 10.4 1 | | 2006 kan | 11 | 310 1312 4.2 13 | 32 375 11.7 2 | +----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+ | TOTAL | 44 | 786 3728 4.7 43 | 88 998 11.3 5 | +----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+ Seasons among the league's top 10 Rushes: 2005-7, 2006-1 Rushing yards: 2005-3, 2006-2 Rushing TDs: 2005-2, 2006-2 Yards from scrimmage: 2005-2, 2006-2 Rush/Receive TDs: 2005-2, 2006-2 Larry Johnson is not in the all-time top 50 in any major category. |

LaDainian Tomlinson
Running Back San Diego Chargers Profile 2006 SEASON STATISTICS Rush Yds TD Rec Yds TD 229 1146 21 48 456 3 There aren't enough superlatives to describe Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson's performance this season. One of the best players in the NFL, a top-three player in fantasy entering the season and a 27-year-old in his prime, Tomlinson is in the midst of arguably the best campaign in NFL -- and fantasy -- history. Take a look at his accomplishments: • Most touchdowns in Chargers history: 84, a mark he achieved with his first touchdown in the Week 6 game at San Francisco. Tomlinson added three more scores on the day, passing Lance Alworth as the franchise's all-time leader. • Became the second player in NFL history to rush for 150-plus yards and score three-plus TDs in consecutive games when he managed 183 yards and three TDs in Week 8 and 172 yards and three TDs in Week 9. (Delvin Williams also did it in 1976.) • Most touchdowns in a five-game span: 15, Weeks 6-10. Tomlinson snapped Jim Brown's 48-year-old record of 14, and then, he outdid himself, breaking his own record with 16 in a five-game span from Weeks 8-12. By the way, another four-TD effort from Tomlinson in Week 13 would break the record yet again. • Most touchdowns in his first nine games of the season: 18, reached in Week 10. He broke the record shared by Jim Brown (1958) and Shaun Alexander (2005). • Quickest to record 100 career touchdowns: 89 games. Tomlinson achieved the feat with his third score of the game in Week 11, reaching the mark in four fewer games than it took either Jim Brown or Emmitt Smith (93 games each). • Set records in Week 11 with his third four-TD effort of the season and 19 in a six-game stretch from Weeks 6-11. It was his second straight four-TD performance. • Reached the 1,000-yard rushing plateau in Week 11 at the Broncos, marking the sixth consecutive season he has done that from the start of his career. • Set a new career best with his fifth consecutive 100-yard rushing game, in Week 12 against the Raiders. He has topped the century mark each week from Weeks 8-12. • Most rushing touchdowns in a single season in Chargers history: 20, which he reached in the second quarter of the Week 12 game. He'd add another in the contest. He also set a new franchise mark in the game with 138th point of the season. What's more, with five games to go, Tomlinson stands an excellent chance at breaking the single-season record for touchdowns, 28, set by Alexander last season. He's only four short, meaning he'd need to average only one score per week to break Alexander's mark. |
Great, another LT homo fan boy.
|
Don't forget LT has the most homo fan boys posting his stats-just slightly above Peyton Mangina.
|
LTforMVP is still pissed his mom won't wash his LT jersey cause of the sticky substance on it.
|
I laugh because you PLAINLY admitted LJ beat LT HANDS DOWN Last year in every important stat. Either way, it is just flamebait.
|
ltmvp, i would just LOVE to justify your budding homerality with a long, scathing and stat laden post...but its not worth my time...... %(/
|
Oh Boy.
Who let the gimp out of the box? |
Thats nice comparing stats for a career when LJ has been in the league not as long or been a starter his whole career like LT. LT is the best all-round back in the NFL with LJ being the best running back.

Tomlinson is a great back and a class act.
Its unfortunate that so many of his tongue chewing fans can't follow suit. Just hand the ball to the ref arseboil. |
Wow. Based on the Chargers thread that had been previously posted, I now must assume all chargers fans are either fairweather fans who know nothing about football, mentally reeruned, or COMPLETE IDIOTS.

I've crossed paths with a few Dolt fans online whom could keep up when the grownups were talking football. Some, very intelligent and reasonable.
They're just drowned out by a horde of fans that remind me of the fuzzy round guys on Sesame Street that Go "yep yep yep uuuhuh uhuh..yepyepyep uuuuh huh" |

These are two great backs. They're going to switch back and forth every year. Age has nothing to do with it you cock. Favre is older than Peyton Manning and you don't see him putting up better stats, do you, douchebag? |

OMG get a friggin life will ya! Spam your own teams board. |
LT is the best running back in football...LJ is the best powerback in recent history..soon to become, health permitting, one of the best ever............
|
take larry johnson's career games started, and multiply it by 6, that equals ladainian's starts?
so, if you divide ladainaiana's stats by 6, how do they compare to Larry Johnson's? (i think LT started 92 and what for LJ?) |
From the posts on this thread, one would think that the quality of the running back of the team one roots for is directly proportional to the size of one's member.
They're both great backs. Other than that, who cares? |
I anxiously await LTforMVP's "THE OFFICIAL RYAN SIMS > SHAWNE MERRIMAN" thread, where he'll show us how having more time in the league to earn stats makes Sims the better player.
|
HAHAH based on his posts, I'm guessing that LTforMVP doesn't know difference between dog years and people years either.
|
LT has 6 yeas starting to LJ's 1.

Age is much more relevant when talking about how much longer someone will play in the league as well as when they will decline than how many years they have been a starter
Warner starting at later age didnt change the fact that his skills started to decline at the same age as other QBs |

Man, you are really making yourself look like an idiot. |

The point is since their careers from here on out should peak and valley at around the same time LJ will ALWAYS be in LT's shadow |
No biggie, aside from a few games LT has been a mediocre player against the Chiefs...he isn't a game changer when he plays the guys in red...give him a few receptions...he cant actually run against us. Thats what controls games...
A dominant runner can control the clock, and impose his will on the pace of the game in a way a good receiver can't. Chiefs are not impressed, and they shouldn't be...not by LT and not by Charger fan's need for validation. |

a while back this shit never got me off though |
I love the way this prick just ignores the fact that Johnson was a BACK UP who got extremely limited playing time until Priest went down. Apparently, somehow, that's Larry's fault.
In a 100 yard dash, if LT got a 50 yard head start and then blew LJ away, I guess you'd sing his praises then, too. reerun. LT is a great back. He thrives in a system loaded with top pick talent (one of the benefits of the Chargers COMPLETELY SUCKING BALLS FOR A DECADE) and runs behind a stable, healthy offensive line. LJ was finally running behind a stable, healthy line in WEEK ELEVEN. Your comparisons are as lame as you are. I'm glad that idiots like Pete Pricksco give LT plenty of Snickers man love, but that doesn't win games. So far, LT's Chargers have done exactly the same thing LJ's Chiefs have, pretty much nothing. We'll see who's still standing at the end of the season. Of course, I was at Arrowhead the last time the Chiefs and Chargers hooked up. And Mr. Superback sure as hell didn't walk away with any laurels that day. |
Name a top pick talent on offense not named Rivers

Lies, damned lies, and statistics. Who cares. If the backs were in bizzarro world, Chief fans would love LT and Charger fans would love LJ. They are both special players, if at the end of their careers they have the body of work necessary, I'm sure the Hall Of Fame will have enough room for both of them.
-HH |
I'm sure I am not the first to bring it up, but LJ hasn't started but 1 year so far, plus 10 games last year. Shouldn't you give him the same amount of NFL full time experience, dude?
|
I don't know, all of these obvious mults joing lately, GoChiefs is on full speed ahead.
|
Gotta love Charger fans...all 3 of them.
|
Has anyone checked his IP, this has got to be Mecca.
|
Last I checked, at the end of the day, LT was drafted by and played for a coach that wanted him, a coach that emphasizes running over passing, and that team had no other comparable talent in clubhouse.
LJ was drafted by the GM ahead of the coaches wishes by a team that emphasized passing over running and had a guy named Priest Holmes ahead of him on the depth chart. LJ finally has his coach, and he's leading the league in rushing behind a patchwork O-line. Sorry, but from a purely empirical point of view, you can't draw comparisons between the two. Situations are completely different. |
*LTforMVP* >>> :hump: <<<< LT himself
Get over it man. Your team has a great back, everyone knows this, but your putting his all-time numbers up against a guy who is still in his first full year of starting. I think I speak for everyone when I award you a nice big bowl of DEE DEE DEEEEE!!!! http://mud.mm-a5.yimg.com/image/1914660385 |
I do not think it is very kind of anyone here to attempt to demoralize this kid who has just recently determined his sexual preference for males. LTforMVP is still in the early stages of his own personal discovery and even though we haven't had to endure the same prejiduce that LTfor MVP has gone through and will continue to go through, I think we should try to be understanding.
Once he enters high school he'll become more comfortable with his choices and eventually be accepted by his family. And some day, with growth and maturity, he'll come to understand the differences expected with statistics for a running back with double or triple the amount of playing time as another. I expect LTforMVP will eventually mature and make his chosen man a fine mate. I wish him the best of luck. |
This is really a stupid debate.....
It's like comparing sex and oral sex. Both are damn good; and one isn't usually preferable over the other, except in the name of variety. LJ's start as a backup to the best back (then) in the league, means he's playing catch-up. Either of them, though, is an injury away from being the next Jamal Anderson or James Wilder. My money for career longevity is on LJ though. The man is a beast, and phsyically will hold up well over the next 6-8 years better than LT....unless Herm continues giving him 40 touches a game for the next 2-3 years. Come back in 2014 when we can really have a meaningful discussion, you piece of rat filth. :banghead: |
BB Life is bound to be confusing when you learned football on Madden 05.
