this is herms first year. Do you expect herm to complete the passes? Tackle the ball carrier?. You ppl had way to high expectations then. What did this team do under DV? He had 5 years and the chiefs were mediocre under him. Herm isnt the problem. Give him a year or two and the cheifs might be contenders.Gunther cunningham has had 4 years to turn this defense around. What has he done in that time span?

We have the talent at several positions, its just not the ones that make the most difference in Herms coaching style. We are lacking at OT, DT, and LB. WR is horrible as well, but you can play with 2nd rate WRs if you play good defense, have a good OL with a strong running game.

It starts and ends in the trenches.

Out of 5 offensive linemen, we have 1 (Waters) that could be considered "talent". After him, you have Wiegmann and Shields, who will both likely retire.

On the defensive line, we have Hali and Allen, and part-time change-of-pace in Wilkerson.

We don't have plenty of talent. We're WOEFULLY thin on both lines, where it counts the most. And that doesn't even take into account our WR's and DB's, where we're hurting almost as bad.

Go pull up the other contending teams...look at their rosters compared to ours........the Chiefs team looks more like one of the bad teams than one of the good teams.

The Ravens are better than us at virtually every position save 1 or 2.

Our DB's our the best in the league and if you can find a better set of DB's you would have to look to the future or the past because this year we are the best

this offseason herm will know what he has with this team. He will know what needs to be tinkered with to make this team a contender. Thats where you judge a coach. Herm hasnt proved anything yet. Our defense has gotten better under him. While our offense has gotten worse. This team is going through a transition. Give the chiefs another year or two and they will be in the thick of things. I like the herm era more then the DV experiment.
