"The Hunt Club" Name Change - Temporary or Permanent?
 

Renaming "The Lounge" as "The Hunt Club" was first suggested as a temporary change as a tribute to Lamar's passing (see this thread). However, "The Hunt Club" has a nice ring to it, and I've never really cared for "The Lounge" myself. Should we change the name back after a while, or leave it as "The Hunt Club" permanently?

Valid point. I personally think that's reading a bit much into it, but it's certainly something to be considered.

Lamar's Arrowhead Lounge

Maybe since Lamar was so adamant about keeping the stadium name Arrowhead, we could honor him here with "Arrowhead Lounge" or something to that effect. It doesn't have his name, but since some are worried about the content here at times being under his actual name, the name would still reflect something he was passionate about.

This proposal is such a significant change, and I am so new here, I don't think it's appropriate for me to vote.

But, I defer to Mr. Iowanian's view on this. Perhaps another idea to consider is to rename the Lounge to "The Hunt Club" each year on the anniversary of Lamar's passing. I sort of like that notion.

As others have already stated, i dont think Mr.Hunt would want his name associated with some of the material & language that graces the Lounge. Atleast not permanently.

The guy was all class and all heart and he made a big difference to anyone who knows about him. Not just Chief fans but AFC fans, NFL fans and football fans everywhere. Just my two cents.

I don't know why, but I like "The Lamar Hunt Club" over just "The Hunt Club", I think that sounds a bit more dignified, maybe.

If people have an issue with naming our kinda "R-rated" forum after Lamar, we could always change the name of the media or CasinoPlanet forum... since Lamar was known as "Games" anyway. Just some random ideas I haven't seen mentioned.

I hate to get too far out there with wild suggestions, but how hard would it be to add a picture of him to the gif at the top of the page? That could be something permanent and non-controversial.

Are you talking about the logo on the left, or the "slideshow" gif at the right? Control-F5 if you're talking about the latter.

In a poll with so many options, you should have rounds of voting until one name has a majority. Otherwise you could get a name that 60% of the people don't like. After each round, you can drop the bottom vote getter plus any others not recieving at least 20% of the max vote getter, or some such criteria.
