- - Deon Sanders on Schottenheimer letting go of DC Ray Rhodes (https://chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=15622)

bishop_74 02-23-2001 11:49 AM

"Usually when a head coach comes in, he brings his key players together. That hasn't happened," Sanders told The Washington Post. "No one told me about the Ray Rhodes decision, so I didn't feel obligated to tell them about my decision."

Sorry Deon, didn't realize that Marty had to "consult" you for any personel changes. Get rid of that damn fool.

Lightning Rod 02-23-2001 11:50 AM

His decision to what?

NaptownChief 02-23-2001 11:51 AM

I assume, his decision to play baseball.

bishop_74 02-23-2001 11:52 AM

Yeah, thats the one.

Baby Lee 02-23-2001 11:59 AM

Problem with getting rid of the 'damn fool' is his contract packs a salary Cap whammy like few others if he is sent packing now. He has the redskins over a barrel and he knows it.

bishop_74 02-23-2001 12:04 PM

I know... I just hate how these crybaby, over rated, might I add old, players throw a tantrum when they don't get thier way. Erks me.

58Forever 02-23-2001 12:05 PM

Control freak Marty working for control freak, ego maniac Snyder with players like biggest ego in the world Dieon...this should be Marty's greatest challenge...this will be one of the best stories all year...can't wait for the fireworks in DC.

bishop_74 02-23-2001 12:09 PM

Good point. This could be better than the first season of Taxi.

Bwana 02-23-2001 12:26 PM

Sanders? Who's that?...............Oh yeah, that has been who tackles like a 8 year old girl and dresses like a pimp. If I were Marty, not only would I make him return kicks and punts, but plug him into the RB position if he runs into a game that he can't win. At least then the wuss would have something to run his mouth about.

Clint in Wichita 02-23-2001 12:29 PM

Apparently the Chiefs could use a "control freak" like Marty. I've never seen a more undisciplined team than the Chiefs of the last 3 seasons.

DaWolf 02-23-2001 12:32 PM

Of course that all started while Marty was still here...

Clint in Wichita 02-23-2001 12:36 PM

It started in his LAST season.

He didn't want to coach a bunch of underachievers that he didn't even select, so he quit. I don't blame him, and KC will be lucky if they ever have another coach as good as Marty. DV has proven nothing in KC yet.

Feh.

Even if this bit of psychic reading were true, it simply makes Marty a quitter instead of a loser. Not an improvement, IMO.

It's truly amazing how every Chief that has ever went to another team "sucks" the moment their gone.

I can't wait to read about how Shields "really wasn't all that important to the team" the moment he signs elsewhere, if he does.

bishop_74 02-23-2001 01:15 PM

Actually, he quit BECAUSE he lost controll in '98. But I don't think he sucks.

waKCo 02-23-2001 01:16 PM

Ahhh, another Deion bashing post.

Let me jump on the dogpile!!!!
I love it when Deion like to act like he means something to football other than being a jackass as soon as the cameras start rolling.

Baby Lee 02-23-2001 01:29 PM

Weighing the pros and cons, the pain of the entire '00 campaign [as a Chiefs fan] may possibly be worth the opportunity to see the great Deion tackled by the punter on a return. And mere day after he warned all punters that if he caught sight of them on a return it was "ALL OVER BABY" [or whatever the H-E-double hockey sticks he said]. Perhaps the most karmically comforting moment of the '00 season.

Lightning Rod 02-23-2001 01:41 PM

It is too bad that acting like a jackass reaps monetary rewards for idiots like Sanders. Guys like him make it difficult to be a sports fan these day. It is one of the reasons I no longer care to watch the NBA.

waKCo 02-23-2001 01:52 PM

I wouldn't try and justify your NFL watching with saying the NBA is worse.
Face it they're about the same.
just admit you're not a big basketball fan and be done with it ;)

HC_Chief 02-23-2001 02:25 PM

I'll admit that waKCo! The NBA sucks balls IMO. Only way they can turn it around: move the baskets up another 12", allow zone Ds, and cut ticket prices by 60%.

Lightning Rod 02-23-2001 04:05 PM

It is "one" of the reasons I no longer care to watch the NBA. One not the only one. I also don’t like the fact that you can take four or five steps and it is not traveling. I also don’t like that someone can be fouled at half court and 5 minutes later when the shoot a lay-up it was a continuation of the shot. How can someone whom has spent their entire life playing hoops shoot free throws as pathetically as Shaq does? I do still like college B-Ball.

Clint in Wichita,

Which planet do you live on?

Which team do you support?

Is your IQ above 6?

These are questions that have no answer (other than #3 and you have to have an IQ above 6 to even know what is happening here).

Signed

When it's all said and done, when Marty's time in DC is through, he'll have proven what I've been saying since I found the other BB (and before, whenever I found someone to talk about the Chiefs).
That is that Marty sucks!
