The Chiefs are going to have a press conference to announce a major agreement today at 2 p.m.

Any ideas? Tony G?

Maybe Herm got a contract extension?

BigRedChief 01-22-2007 08:50 AM

Tony G being resigned was already announced correct?

Besides King Carl never holds a presser for a player signing. They release press statements. It has to be about naming rights and sponsors.

bobbything 01-22-2007 08:51 AM

They signed Elvis Grbac. And Steve DeBerg to back him up. Just to create some more QB controversy next season.

Chiefs_Fan 01-22-2007 08:51 AM

Didn't Tony G already get the extension last week?

Redrum_69 01-22-2007 08:51 AM

Hermans Edwards is announcing that MAYBE if a player is playing bad ANYTIME next season THERE MAY BE a CHANCE that he is pulled from the game and replaced with someone else....WINNING IS EVERYTHING in 2007!!!

ILChief 01-22-2007 08:51 AM

A movie deal...

The Herminator

A Carl Peterson production.
Directed by Herm Edwards
Starring Herm Edwards

"He will destroy your offense. That's what he does. That's ALL he does."

siberian khatru 01-22-2007 09:07 AM

They're going to announce that because the Colts are AFC champs, they've decided that their playoff loss isn't so bad and that they're not going to make any changes for 2007.

I heard on 610am just a bit ago, that the Chiefs agreed to terms with Sims, Bell, and Samie Parker worked out one hell of a deal.

Herman was quoted as saying "We have these guys already, we might as well work them one more season instead of taking a chance with the draft"

THose three really should have been booted, this sucks

Herm's retiring???!!!!???

Rain Man 01-22-2007 09:18 AM

The Los Angeles Chiefs.

Or more likely, either one of the Hunt kids is buying out the others, or the team is being sold. Given Lamar's health situation, it would be very likely that any changes in this arena would have long been worked out.

Wasn't disparing your street creed nor holding a grudge because you kicked my azz in FF this year.....Just that its been announced on 610 and 810 sports talk radio.

But according to the information above are you saying that you are a lackey for the King Carl marketing machine?

jspchief 01-22-2007 09:46 AM

Probably gonna have KU and MU play their yearly game at Arrowhead.

Saulbadguy 01-22-2007 09:47 AM

Arrowhead is one of the worst venues for college football.

Archie F. Swin 01-22-2007 09:50 AM

word on the street is Herm is going to announce that "YOU PLAY TO WIN TEH GHEYM"

FloridaMan88 01-22-2007 10:04 AM

It probably has to do with KU/MU at Arrowhead or maybe some other future college football match-up.

This is exactly why Carl needs to step away from the football-related operations of the team and focus strictly on the business/off-the field matters.

Do you see Scott Pioli or Bill Polian spending significant amounts of time with all the extracurricular crap that Carl parades around doing.

Memo to Carl... I don't give a shit about college football games at Arrowhead, award banquets in KC honoring players/coaches who actually accomplish things IN the playoffs (i.e. not the Chiefs) and the countless other pointless crap Carl wastes his time with.

All that matters is what people in Indy and Chicago are experiencing today

Nothing is worse than the Rose Bowl.

I was there for the 2002 Rose Bowl game (Miami/Nebraska) and it was like attending a football game in a slum in India.

2 hour+ wait to get in the stadium. Hour+ wait to use the bathroom the bathrooms were so small, people were pissing in the sinks and trashcans.

The Orange bowl is pretty bad too. Dumpy stadium with no college atmosphere.

Kansas, Missouri agree to move game to Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – The Kansas-Missouri football game is coming to Kansas City.

Officials from both schools plan to announce later today that the game will be played at Arrowhead Stadium beginning this fall.

A source, who asked not to be identified pending a formal announcement, told The Associated Press this morning that each team will play a home game in the series at Arrowhead.

The move has been discussed for many years but resisted by merchants in Columbia and Lawrence.

Arrowhead, the 78,000-seat home of the Kansas City Chiefs, has hosted several Big 12 championships and many major college games. It is going to undergo a massive renovation starting this year.

"Lamar Hunt Field" would be nice but not really a 'big announcement' most likely 'Papa Johns Field' & 'Price Choppers Arrowhead Stadium'

duncan_idaho 01-22-2007 10:41 AM

This announcement WILL be MU-KU in Arrowhead, per Mizzou's Rivals.com writer.

Great deal for both schools... locking the game into Thanksgiving weekend really hurts Mizzou's attendence - no way to get the stadium very close to full, and fewer people travel than normal because of the holiday.

chiefforlife 01-22-2007 11:12 AM

wow...thats great Carl...BFD! I was stupid enough to think it was a big announcement that would improve the Chiefs. Ill never learn.

Chief Henry 01-22-2007 11:17 AM

Carl is firing Herman Edwards. That could be the
only news i would find being a MAJOR announcement.

greg63 01-22-2007 11:17 AM

Parcells for GM!

ChiTown 01-22-2007 11:19 AM

The Chiefs are making it official. They will be announcing that Herman Edwards is Black. That is all.........

WilliamTheIrish 01-22-2007 11:19 AM

That's the announcement? Moving the Border Whores to Arrowhead?

They could have done that in an email.

Chief Chief 01-22-2007 11:20 AM

The Chiefs are hiring Bill Parcells to share in half of Carl Peterson's many jobs and titles.
