Is Priest Holmes going to be used next year???

As my name states, I am a big Priest fan. I hope he returns, but will he even be used in this one-dimensional system?

Deberg_1990 01-27-2007 11:15 PM

Id love for him to return, but i honestly think hes done.

Priest4Prez 01-27-2007 11:16 PM

He can't even get cleared to practice. I hope he comes back, but his career is probably over.

Halfcan 01-27-2007 11:17 PM

I think he will be back just because that is a PH thing to do. Everybody has bad mouthed him and pissed on his accomplishments. He should come back and cement his place in the HOF. If he hits 100 TD's he will get in.

crazycoffey 01-27-2007 11:17 PM

If anyone can, it's him

Halfcan 01-27-2007 11:18 PM

Put me on the record as PH playing next year. I am calling it right now.

Well, that does it. Priest is done for sure now.

Probably was anyway... but this seals it.

I just don't see it happening. Even if it does, fans want LJ now. Everybody (besides me) has forgoten how multi-dimensional PH was/hopefully is. LJ can't really catch, PH can. He needs to come back to give the chiefs another offensive weapon.

crazycoffey 01-27-2007 11:24 PM

or if he can come back, and be as good as he was, we show him off the first couple of games and use him as trade bait, or LJ as trade bait.

pikesome 01-27-2007 11:27 PM

If the Chiefs ever want to take their nachos to the next level, he better come back. :)

Seriously, the only question is if Holmes would be willing to be a backup again. If he is then we'll see him out there. If not he stays home, simple as that.

KurtCobain 01-27-2007 11:30 PM

Would he even still be good? From what I gather he's an old couch potato. Is he still in shape to gain more than 2 yards every few carries?

:) Sorry but I just have this feeling he is going to come back and hang 900 to 1300 worth of Offense on the teams we play next year. LJ is no PH. No disrespect intended-but PH was just freakin amazing. He was the second coming of Barry Sanders and the future LT prototype. The Marshal Faulk of the AFC.

The brought the Mexican guy in for a reason.

On the field, it's nacho day to tackle Priest.

Thig Lyfe 01-28-2007 12:17 AM

This entire thread is one massive clusterrepost.

HMc 01-28-2007 12:18 AM

hey who is going to start at qb green or huard

Direckshun 01-28-2007 02:18 AM

I get the feeling the answer to a question somewhere in this thread is "Scanlon."

HMc 01-28-2007 02:29 AM

have we signed David Boston and Charles Rogers yet?

No one has pissed on Priest's accomplishments.

But unless Priest comes back and gains about 2000 more yard, along with 14 more TDs, he won't get into the HOF.

StcChief 01-28-2007 08:19 AM

PH if in shape, would be nice to finish out as a backup. Better weapon than Bennett....

Bennett's status was a 1 year deal?

HonestChieffan 01-28-2007 08:27 AM

One wonders....5 years from now will we still have "Is Priest Coming back" and "Roaf may return" Posts....

Easy 6 01-28-2007 08:32 AM

Priest at 75% of what he used to be would make an EXCELLENT backup, but i really dont see it hatnin'.

Don't spam my damn thread. The answer is neither because Croyle is going to start, which I will also tie into Priest starting.

Alright, here it goes. Maybe if the OC can figure this out, he could run this. You run the no-huddle offense out of the shotgun, kinda like the colts. LJ is the run threat and PH is the screen threat. Not to mention the fact that Sammie and Brodie have chemistry so that would be a third option. This takes people off of Gonzo, so at the end of the drive, he will score on a deep pass. Wide open in the endzone. This protects Brodie, makes LJ a secret weapon along with Gonzo. Not to mention we will have a pass threat with PH and Sammie! This is even before the draft which could prove to be key to youthening the offensive line. This makes everybody on offense better, and puts less pressure on the d.

milkman 01-28-2007 08:51 AM

Priest ain't coming back, dumbass.

And your offensive idea wouldn't even rate a glance from Herman ****ing Edwards.

Priest4Prez 01-28-2007 09:21 AM

His loss. And this will prove to be the end of Priest's dominance in the NFL.

Between Alexander and Johnson I think its pretty well been over.

Priest4Prez 01-28-2007 09:26 AM

Too bad because Priest is a good guy.

I read on here what a moron Carl Peterson is. But to trade a fourth rounder on a one year deal would be in Matt Millen territory.

Mojo Rising 01-28-2007 12:39 PM

In an interview with DV last week DV said he had dinner with Priest a few weeks ago, and Priest's parents, and said Priest will play next year.

crazycoffey 01-28-2007 12:41 PM

Again, I've learned, not to count him out. I made that mistake last time.

CoMoChief 01-28-2007 12:47 PM

I thought Carl said Priest was cleared to play.

LMAO

New here?

Halfcan 01-28-2007 04:12 PM

I think they will redo his contract and sign him for two years as a backup to LJ. That should put him in the HOF!

Halfcan 01-28-2007 04:14 PM

Green will have to take a huge paycut if he comes back. I bet he plays one more year because Herm said Trent would be his QB next year-Herm never lies.

Priest4Prez 01-28-2007 04:54 PM

As long as Brodie starts, I am happy.

Simply Red 01-28-2007 05:02 PM

Croyle is suspect at best in this league.

I love all these people who have deemed Brodie a bust after 7 attempts in a blowout.

I don't believe he is over 200 lbs. and it is pretty clear seeing him standing next to others that he IS NOT over 6'. Pay attention next time you see him next to somebody. His diminsions on kcchiefs.com are dead wrong!

I hope I'm wrong. My insticts just tell me he'll never be above average in this league. Again I'm not claiming to have some secret knowledge about him or his abilities, I just don't see him blossoming into greatness.

Herm also backed out of that statement in his year end PC.

I spent 3 days at training camp this summer and I can tell you the opposite.

Croyle is barely shorter than Trent. Barely. Brodie was next to Trent picking his brain whenever he could while his shoulder was injured, and they are almost the same height.

Well I hope the best for him and us. I'm not claiming to have him pegged, longevity in this league is my main concern regarding Brodie.

kstater 01-28-2007 06:12 PM

Everyone is forgetting one thing. If Priest comes back, it would take a lot of pressure off of LJ, reducing his load making him more effective.

I'm concerned about his injury history also. His goal is to put some weight on his frame.....even though to me, it really doesn't mean as much as some make it out to.

Joe Montana was 6'2" - 200. He did just fine. He took a beating, and for the most part, kept on ticking.

Then there are guys like Culpepper and McNabb who are injured all the time.

Priest4Prez 01-28-2007 06:49 PM

Hootie, the guy played in a game that didn't matter. He was the only one who was trying. I guaruntee that he would have had more success in those games that Huard started.
