Manning SB MVP??? What A Joke

I was so happy to see the Colts when and their QB have a less than avg game.

He did not deserve the MVP. In fact if it was not for their defense ironically they would not of won the SB or 3 of their playoff games.

I used to like Peyton a lot until he felt he was the King of the NFL when his bro was drafted and him and daddy started telling him not to go to SD and such.

Plus all the BS he gets away with at the line.

So do you think he deserved the MVP?

Yeah I just saw that....oh well my thoughts still stand.

CoMoChief 02-05-2007 02:39 PM

Manning is that team's MVP everytime they step out onto the field. Without him they're not even playoff contenders.

Having that said Hayden or Sanders should have gotten the award.

mfkrush 02-05-2007 03:24 PM

Rex Grossman should have been the MVP. He got snubbed.

UL Washington 02-05-2007 03:29 PM

I think if you say Manning shouldn't win it then you need to offer up an alternative. Sure he didn't play the game of his life but in a situation where he is the unquestioned leader and best player on the team and nobody else just totally put up a jaw dropping performance of course he's going to win it.

Use some common sense people.

I think that considering the conditions, Manning's effectiveness in passing is hard to ignore. I'm not sure who deserves it more than Manning when you consider the weather.

What is with the Manning hate? Jeez people he's the top or next to top (depending on your Brady love) QB in the NFL. Do I think he deserved MVP last night? No. But there wasn't a single stand out performance so he got it by default. No big deal.

MahiMike 02-05-2007 03:51 PM

He's not only the MVP QB, he's the MVP offensive coordinator. That guy on the sidelines has the next best job as Peyton's backup.

Halfcan 02-05-2007 04:06 PM

I hate Manning!

Sully 02-05-2007 04:11 PM

I often think it's funny when people misuse one word for another that sounds just like it.
to/too (even two at times) is one example....

I've NEVER seen when replacing win, though.

Interesting.

Halfcan 02-05-2007 04:17 PM

I still can't believe Da bears D looked so bad and never blitzed or changed it up. They palyed 50 yards off the line all day. What an embarassing game for them. Their O looked like a High School team.

I think the Colts just played a bunch of average teams that played very bad games at the wrong time. I have NO respect for them.

Halfcan 02-05-2007 04:19 PM

Mangina was very below average looking all the way through the Playoffs. Now we get to look forward to Colts Trolls and Mangina fan boys, not to mention a bunch of Mangina commercials.

"Hi this is Peyton MVP, please buy _____, because I am Peyton MVP and I am sooo cool."

Well, as long as you come off like a whiny little bitch, I guess that's what really matters.....

I don't think the Pats or Bears were avg.

Manning riddled the vaunted Bears defense. He took what they gave him and read the bad coverage on the TD pass when it was there. What more can you ask a QB?

Priest4Prez 02-05-2007 04:36 PM

Bob Sanders deserved it.

StcChief 02-05-2007 04:42 PM

They had already decided the game before it was played.

Anybody see any holding as Manning had all day.

This was a meer formality. Poster boy Manning,

Priest4Prez 02-05-2007 04:45 PM

Yeah, but still..........
Bob Sanders made the big play that put the game away. Manning just sat there and made a lob pass to a WIDE OPEN Wayne. Bob's pick was acrobatic

Spott 02-05-2007 04:51 PM

I doubt I'll be worried who gets the MVP if/when the Chiefs ever win the Super Bowl.

Priest4Prez 02-05-2007 04:54 PM

I might be, in some situations. Like this year, somebody on the D deserved it. Last year, I thought was the right choice for MVP

boogblaster 02-05-2007 04:55 PM

He's got the ring, trophy, bitches, commercials and every thing but my respect..frick the whinny little bastard...

ROFL Let it all out man, you'll live longer.

Bearcat 02-05-2007 05:40 PM

12 plays, 89 yards, 6:56, touchdown
9 plays, 54 yards, 4:03, field goal
14 plays, 76 yards, 6:47, touchdown
13 plays, 56 yards, 7:34, field goal

Watching the 3rd quarter last night got me thinking... these are Manning's 4 drives to open the second half of each playoff game (IIRC, the last was killed by a holding call).

I wonder how many quarterbacks have been this good at making the adjustments at halftime, and then coming out and wearing down a defense that's just rested for 20 minutes (and maybe even made some adjustments themselves).

The drive against the Chiefs killed us, the one against the Patriots was obviously the biggest drive of the game, and the drive against the Bears should have put them away (and it let an already-shaky Grossman sit on the sideline for half the quarter).

I don't think anyone would mind him on their team.
