You Favorite SNL Character
This was one of the "4 Downs" questions at the end of NFL Total Access. Thought it would make good discussion. Mine would have to be Phil Hartmann's Anal Retentive Chef. I was tearing up when he was making sure the garbage didn't leak onto the other garbage.
|
Dana Carvey did nearly all of my favorites except for the top one:
Chris Farley's motivational speaker It was really only funny the first time he did it, but my god I don't know if I've ever laughed so hard at the same thing over and over again. |
Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer
Bill Murray's lounge singer Billy Crystal and Christopher Guest as the two friends who "hate it when that happens." Chris Rock's Nat X. Wayne Campbell |
Christopher Walken the Continental
|
the motivational speaker
Will Forte as Zell Miller Colonel Angus |

Opera-Man
Wayne & Garth Molly Shannon's Mary Catherine The new people - Kristen Wiig & Jason Sedakis couple who think they're so cool. |

|
Tyrone Green
Samurai Anything The Festrunk Brothers |
One-time character: Jim Carrey's overzealous hot tub lifeguard.
Recurring character: The Poehler/Fey newscast team The Chris Kattan monkey boy guy Mr. Robinson, maybe? And for some odd reason, those head-bobbing guys out on the town were always funny to me. |

Chevy Chase - News Anchor
Eddie Murphy - Mr. Robertson's Neighborhood Dana Carvey - Church Lady |
Scrorp, it thiuerntinertineiurntiwentinwtini. Horn is good!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
i do not remember the character and it is old timer but The one I remember most was the skit of the "British" (Julia Childs maybe?) cook and she stabbed her hand while doing a cooking show. Blood was squirting everywhere while they were trying to continue the show. Blood was hitting the ceiling and all over the food. I laughed my azz off.
I have not watched for a few years but will always remember that skit. |

john belushi's samuri
eddie murhy as gumby the coneheads the church lady point - counterpoint with jane curtain and gilda radner |
Wow...there have been a lot...
Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer Landshark John Belushi as the Samuri Ubetcha - "Cheeseburga! Cheeseburga! Cheeseburga!" Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood ...but my favorite of all is probably... Eddie Murphy in James Brown's Celebrity Hot Tub Party "I'm gonna git in da wata! DUN, DUN, DUN, DU-DUN Owwww!" |

Gilda Radner was one of the funniert I've ever seen. She had the widest range of almost anyone ever on SNL. She was married to Gene Wilder of "Blazing Saddles" fame, and more. She died in '89 from ovarian cancer IIRC.
Dan Ackroyd played Julia Childs in the skit referred to earlier here. There have been some funny people on SNL over the years but I think the original cast was best, the ground breakers. |
Canteen Boy the sketch where Alec Baldwin tries to put the moves on him on the camping trip.
Horatio Sands when he played Aaron Neville |
The one where Matt Foley and Martin Larence were cell mates in prison and giving a Scared Straight lecture to some school kids. They kept arguing over who was who's biatch. I laughed my ass off.
Also when Chris Farley was auditioning for the Chippendales dancers. ROFL ROFL ROFL |

Martin Short - Jackie Rogers Jr., Ed Grimley, and the defensive guy on 60 minutes Canteen Boy Alec Baldwin - Schweaty Balls Phil Hartman's Frank Sinatra Chris Farley - motivational speaker....and anytime he dressed up as either Meatloaf or Wilson Phillips...and of course, the chippendale dancer. |

Matt Foley
The Blizzard Man Tim Meadows as OJ Simpson Christopher Walken as the Continental |
I like all those that have been mentioned..
just adding on.. I like the Bee Gees talk show and just about anything Will Farrell did.. |
Quote:
I'd forgotten that one, haven't seen it in many years. That was a great bit, he was as good at being Joe Cocker as Joe Cocker. |
Nat X - The only fifteen minute show on television. Why fifteen minutes? Because the man wont give him sixteen!
Sean Connery / Jeopardy - I'll take "the penis mightier for 200, Alex" "Um, thats the PEN is mightier". |

Although not my favorite, this one is pretty funny.
