ESPNews reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have acquired QB Jake Plummer from the Denver Broncos for a conditional 2008 draft pick.

Buck 03-03-2007 12:35 PM

REPOST, I Think.

Mile High Mania 03-03-2007 12:36 PM

I didn't see anything on the first page... and this isn't the deal from yesterday.

Then, I should eat my words.

Mile High Mania 03-03-2007 12:38 PM

I haven't seen this news on a legit site yet, but rumor is that Denver sent a 6th rounder this year to Miami for... the 70 year old Dan Wilkinson.

Weird x2

Buck 03-03-2007 12:39 PM

Wait, Dan Wilkinson? Hes still in the league?

Sure-Oz 03-03-2007 12:43 PM

Garcia and Plummer huh?! So Strange!

Mile High Mania 03-03-2007 12:43 PM

Sounds like it... www.kffl.com has issued the "ESPN reports" deal on the Plummer to Tampa for a conditional 2008 pick. Nothing official like that on the signing of the 340 lb senior citizen.

countdown till bronco fan starts telling us big daddy is the best DT to ever play the game....3 2 1.....

Mile High Mania 03-03-2007 12:53 PM

I guess that 6th they received from DET was what they used... not sure.

I will be surprised if that happens, I'm not too impressed by the trade. I think he missed 7 games last year... he was drafted in 1994. Dude is old. Sure, he's a big mass of human on the d-line, but ... I dunno.

You know what's so funny about the Bly (who's got a little left in the tank, but doesn't really scare me) and big daddy signing is that bronco fans were all over this site saying how stupid the chiefs were for resigning Tony G because of his age. I'm not sure you were one of those thoghh MHM. Of course the funniest thing about that was the Broncos were continually listed as the team most intrested in him if he hit the open market.

Buck 03-03-2007 12:59 PM

This is the first time I have been able to say this in March, but the division is either going to be won by the Chiefs or Chargers next year.

Well, I'm sure the $ as it relates to the cap is a bit different with Gonzo and Big Daddy. I don't know what Bly's cap hit is...

Settle down ... nothing is written in stone just yet. There is so much left to be defined by the teams and who knows, Norv Turner could really turn things around for SD. :p

From where I'm sitting the Broncs seem to be doing the same thing the chiefs had done, that defense Lynch Bailey Bly Wilson is gonna get old real fast.

The Chiefs don't have a chance to win the division next year it will be between the Dolts and Donks, and between the two I'd take Shanny over Turner ten times outa ten.............god that makes me feel dirty.

beer bacon 03-03-2007 01:12 PM

The Chiefs are never going to win a game again. People need to come to grips with the fact that we are the worst team ever. Carl Peterson is the worst GM ever. Herm Edward is worst coach ever.

Our only hope is to go winless for the next three seasons, and then we are guaranteed to win at least a couple Super Bowls. That is only way to turn this team around. That is how teams get better. Just look at the Browns and 49ers.

Forsake all hope ye who enter here.

Blys cap number isn't that big because when he signed he was given a big bonus and a fronloaded contract, he got something like 25 mill in the first 2 years.

Trading a 6th rounder is nothing, you get a guy who'll contibute to your team for a 6th rounder it's a solid move.

We are sukking but I just hope we are the best team to miss the playoffs.

Considering the Broncos may be trading for McGahee, that's out there now. And he'd be insanely good in that running system.....I'd hold off on making any claims like that.

Mile High Mania 03-03-2007 01:29 PM

I still think I'd rather have Thomas Jones over McGahee... is that pure insanity? I just think Willis may be more issues than he is worth, plus isn't Rosenhaus still his agent? That doesn't work well with Denver.

Well if you have Thomas Jones you can rest assured he'll miss atleast 4 games....always does.

If you can get McGahee for a 3rd which was what I heard, I'd jump on that if I were you guys. He'd put up 1500 easy with you guys probably closer to 1800.

Big Daddy is the best DT to ever play the game! Now if we can only figure out a way to pry Ryan Sims away from Hot Carl...

Fans of the chiefs want to dump Sims, and more then likly he will be gone. You guys just traded for Big Daddy. Spinit however you like the guy still sucks, he'll feel quite comfortable with the rest of your D line.

Mile High Mania 03-03-2007 01:39 PM

I dunno, over the last 3 seasons... TJones had substantial action in nearly every game for CHI.

| 2004 chi | 14 | 240 948 4.0 7 | 56 427 7.6 0 |
| 2005 chi | 15 | 314 1335 4.3 9 | 26 143 5.5 0 |
| 2006 chi | 16 | 296 1210 4.1 6 | 36 154 4.3 0 |

i'd still say if you have a choice.......McGahee is younger, faster, less injury prone.

Also Thomas Jones is maxed out he is what he is, McGahee is still to the point where he should get better. He'll get better when he gets out of Buffalo alone, playing with no line your whole career doesn't do alot for you. He has top 10 back talent just doesn't play with anyone else.

Mile High Mania 03-03-2007 01:43 PM

yeah, i do see that side to it... but I am just uneasy with Willis. We'll see.

StcChief 03-03-2007 01:43 PM

T.Jones very solid behind that Bear OL. He was spelled with Benson/Petterson. Did have an injury here/there.

You need to recalibrate your sarcasm filter...

gcbroncos 03-03-2007 03:14 PM

from what i hear we traded our 6th rounder for big daddy wilk which was the 24 pick in the round....

we still have a detroit's 6th rounder which is the 2nd pick in the round...

big daddy will be used as depth on our line and there to help stop the run when we need him to....

we had nothing to lose here....esp. with 2 6th rounders.....good chance those rooks wouldn't make the team anyway..

another good calculated move by shanny
