Chiefs | Team showing interest in Darche
Sun, 4 Mar 2007 10:09:07 -0800 Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports the Kansas City Chiefs are showing interest in free agent OL Jean-Philippe Darche. ROFL ?! |
If I haven't heard of them, they must not be very good...

I guess they figure if they have an honest to goodness frenchman on the team they'll have a legit reason to surrender a horrid number of sacks...

We should go after Stan Darsh

"The Seahawks own the NFL record for most consecutive successful PATs; longsnapper Jean-Philippe Darche is a big reason why."
|
Jean-Philippe Darche (born on February 28, 1975 in Montréal, Quebec) is an American football long snapper for the Seattle Seahawks. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of McGill University. He is the older brother of former NHL left winger Mathieu Darche.

Sorry. Not going to work in the NFL. ... Actually. Is there something going on with Gammon that I'm unaware of? He's not on the depth chart anymore. We have a Perry guy there now. What the hell's going on with our long-snapping? |
"..revved up like a Darche, another runner in the night.."

Makes me wonder if he'll replace Gammon.

man, is this really a thread?

According to the depth chart, Gammon's already been replaced by Ed Perry?

"And now, the starting Free Safety for the 2007 Kansas City Chiefs, Jean-Philippe Darche!" |

Seems to me Perry was the guy that struggled a couple of years ago when Gammon was injured. |
Most team message boards are talking about signing great players today... we are talking about a possible long snapper!!! God why did you make me a Chiefs fan?

we don't convert players to safety .... we convert them to cornerback. "And now, the starting Right Cornerback for the 2007 Kansas City Chiefs, Jean-Philippe Darche!" |
If Carl signs this guy, he is a Darchebag

I'd like to keep Gammon, but obviously the Chiefs aren't calling my phone.
I can just see "Darche Bag" becoming a part of CP lexicon. |
Wow.
Am I the only one here who didn't know Gammon was dropped? |

Long snappers should only be judged by long snapping, nothing else. That said, Gammon's been completely removed from the depth chart. I didn't hear any wind whatsoever of Gammon retiring or being let go. This takes me by surprise, and I consider it a big deal because Gammon's been top-notch for years. |

LS is a specalized position now get over it. Every team has one.

If it's an OL or DL with any upside, look at 'em. I'd rather see too many prospects coming through than too few.

He does my taxes.

Bobby Bell was the Chiefs long snapper back in the day. Jared Allen was one in school. I don't know what position Gammon played in college, but he's listed at TE for the Chiefs, as was Adam Johnson, who was brought in to compete for the job last year. Darche, at 246 lbs sure as hell isn't an O-Lineman. |

They'd be playing other positions on the field, and some would not be DE or TE. |

Guy looks like he got a Seahawks uni for Christmas and tried it on.
Seriously... he fills it out like a high school player. |

A good long snapper is money. Gammons must be on the way out.
|
IF it improves the team's punt coverages, I'm all for it.
Gammon is a trooper, but he's slower than Gochiefs getting down the field after a snap. |

It's interesting to me how different the opinions in this thread are from the below thread. It was started the week after Gammon went down last year.
