I'm not sure if this has been posted yet but Tony G. was interviewed on NFL network. I'm sure this has ran all day but I didn't see a post about it.

Anyway, Tony said a few surprising things.

1. He said he thinks Trent Green has played his last game as a Chief.
2. He said Solaris' play calling frustrated him at times last year.
3. He said that he hasn't heard from P. Holmes but he hears he is supposed to play this year. He called P.H. a "different cat". He said that if Priest says he's going to play Priest will play.
4. He sounded like he wanted to call out certain players but he bit his lip.
5. He sounds like he has faith in Huard.
6. His comments were candid. He didn't sound like he was being PC.


That's all I can remember right now.

He was talking like it's Damon Huard 100 percent.

Huard did actually consider throwing TD passes to Tony.

I thought so too. No mention of Croyle at all.

I thought he gave a very informative interview without calling out teammates in the locker room.

Damn Time Warner. I would have liked to see it.

I generally take anything a player says with a grain of salt.

So, when are you all going to FINALLY admit that I was right about Huard? I'm still waiting...

Dude, you need to slap a muzzle on this scaled down piece of evil. The jury is still out on Huard. He has to prove himself against someone other than NFC West trash.

Actually, I agree that Huard should be the starting QB, but I'm not going to beg to have his babies or anything.

He also said that the Chiefs have a "gaping hole at the left tackle spot after losing Jordan Black to free agency". He did not mention the signing of McIntosh at all. :banghead:

This is where info behind closed doors becomes evident. They wanted Tony to sign a new contract and I guarantee he asked about the QB for next season. He thinks Trent is done then he probably is. Huard in 07 and Croyle in 08.

He said that he heard they took care of the left tackle spot.
I thought Tony played the PC card the entire interview.

Most interesting comments, some of been said already:

- He refused to name any position in need of an upgrade. He said he didn't want to name a position and then have a player come up to him in the locker room and give him crap.

- Trent is done in KC.

- He believes in Huard but then admitted the playbook was scaled back for the guy and that things get more difficult when you are the full time starter and the playbook gets bigger.

- He was concerned about the number of carries LJ had and thought it was too many.

Finally, the dopes on ESPN said the top three positions of need were WR, OL and Safety. No mention of DT's.

So the fact that Tony G didn't mention Croyle in an interview on NFLN is your "proof"?

I'm sure Tony has his finger firmly on the pulse of the team from spending his off-season working on screwing girls at his LA rooftop parties rather than trying to soften his stonehands.

Um...stone hands? One game does not suddenly show Tony as having stone hands...he was an animal last season. He can screw all the girls on his rooftop that he wants. In fact, I bet if anyone knows what's what in the locker room, it's TG and Sheilds, probably the two most respected guys on the team.

When was the last time a player or coach interviewed actually said anything? Listen to 5-6 of them & you can interchange the answers

The only thing I realize is the fact you continue to leave yourself "outs" for when Huard starts opening game.

You should man up and say, right now, without anything else, Brodie Croyle is going to start game #1 for the Chiefs next year.

The only opinion that I've EVER espoused is that Huard SHOULDN'T be our starting QB going forward.

Whether he starts or not is immaterial. It doesn't change the fact that he's a career backup QB that's over 30 and going NOWHERE.

A good team would start Brodie Croyle.

The Chiefs, with Herm Edwards, are a SAFE team. They're not a GOOD team.

I'll say it, unless Green stays somehow and keeps the starting role, Brodie Croyle will be our Starting QB on opening day.

Let me recap the last 6 months or so on the Huard debate between you and I:

Very beginning: (Green still injured, Huard playing well)

Hootie: I think Huard is a better fit for the Chiefs in this system then Green.

Hootie: I know we're going to resign Huard and get rid of Green. No doubt in my mind Huard is the starting QB for the Chiefs next year.

Here's a post 9/17/2006 where I clearly state that the offensive line hurt HUARD. In fact, it was a common theme all year long, regardless of who was playing QB, and you'd know that if you knew how to use the search function.

And I continuously stated that the reason *I* thought Trent Green should start when he came back was because I'm an old schooler that doesn't believe the starter should lose his job because of injury. I also stated multiple times that Huard failed to do a single thing above and beyond what Trent did, which is, to this day 100% correct.
