Tony G. on NFL Network
I'm not sure if this has been posted yet but Tony G. was interviewed on NFL network. I'm sure this has ran all day but I didn't see a post about it.
Anyway, Tony said a few surprising things. 1. He said he thinks Trent Green has played his last game as a Chief. 2. He said Solaris' play calling frustrated him at times last year. 3. He said that he hasn't heard from P. Holmes but he hears he is supposed to play this year. He called P.H. a "different cat". He said that if Priest says he's going to play Priest will play. 4. He sounded like he wanted to call out certain players but he bit his lip. 5. He sounds like he has faith in Huard. 6. His comments were candid. He didn't sound like he was being PC. That's all I can remember right now. |
He was talking like it's Damon Huard 100 percent.
|
Huard did actually consider throwing TD passes to Tony.

I thought he gave a very informative interview without calling out teammates in the locker room. |
Damn Time Warner. I would have liked to see it.
|
Eh...
I generally take anything a player says with a grain of salt. |
So, when are you all going to FINALLY admit that I was right about Huard? I'm still waiting...

Actually, I agree that Huard should be the starting QB, but I'm not going to beg to have his babies or anything. |

Croyle for President!!!!

A couple notes.
1. TG called Napolean Harris "Napoleon Hill" 2. Adam Sphinctor said, very confidently, that we didn't draft a OL ALL DRAFT last year...Asshole |
I'm watching it right now, I love tivo, can fast forward through the commercials.

it's funny - the Adam comment, they flashed a list of our picks right before he came on too. there at number six, Tre Stallings, so - WTF adam?
|
Did you notice TG calling Nap Harris Nap Hill?
|

|
I think it was in the first segment
|

This is where info behind closed doors becomes evident. They wanted Tony to sign a new contract and I guarantee he asked about the QB for next season. He thinks Trent is done then he probably is. Huard in 07 and Croyle in 08.

I thought Tony played the PC card the entire interview. Most interesting comments, some of been said already: - He refused to name any position in need of an upgrade. He said he didn't want to name a position and then have a player come up to him in the locker room and give him crap. - Trent is done in KC. - He believes in Huard but then admitted the playbook was scaled back for the guy and that things get more difficult when you are the full time starter and the playbook gets bigger. - He was concerned about the number of carries LJ had and thought it was too many. Finally, the dopes on ESPN said the top three positions of need were WR, OL and Safety. No mention of DT's. |

I'm convinced that Huard is the next michael jackson and you will be the recipient of his Jesus Juice |
I'm sure Tony has his finger firmly on the pulse of the team from spending his off-season working on screwing girls at his LA rooftop parties rather than trying to soften his stonehands.

*edit* By TG, of course, I mean Gonzo. |
When was the last time a player or coach interviewed actually said anything? Listen to 5-6 of them & you can interchange the answers

I know, that and this no mention of our Tackle signing in a Tackle signing article, worries me; By Pat Kirwan NFL.com Senior Analyst (March 14, 2007) -- Each week, I will attempt to look closely at a specific position and see if the supply equals the demand. As you know, free agency acts in harmony with the draft. With that in mind, here is the present situation at offensive tackle. Eight free-agent tackles have switched teams. The Giants released Luke Petitgout, and the Buccaneers quickly signed him. Leonard Davis didn't exactly have an All-Pro career in Arizona, but he soon got the largest guaranteed portion of a contract for an offensive lineman in Dallas Cowboys history. George Foster lost his starting job in Denver, but Detroit traded for him and welcomed him with open arms. Ryan Tucker had been out of football, but the Redskins were happy to get him for depth. The Jaguars snatched Tony Pashos after he did a solid job for the Ravens. Desperate to improve their pass protection, the Bills felt Langston Walker could be part of the project. Jordan Black struggled at times for the Chiefs, but the Texans were glad to sign him. Why have the tackles had no trouble finding work? Eight teams have addressed their needs at tackle, but it still leaves a significant number of teams in search of one, and that turns all the attention to the draft pool. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/10060232 |
Basically reading between the lines he would like DV offense with a HE defense. Unfortunately that just ain't going to happen.

If Croyle starts opening game, you can have my sig. If Huard starts opening game, I get your sig. Game? |

Sure, I'm game. You do realize that it still doesn't prove anything other than your ability to play probabilities, right? |

I already know what your rebuttal is going to be when Huard is indeed the starter for the Chiefs opening game next season. But hey, at least you can say you're never wrong... |
You should man up and say, right now, without anything else, Brodie Croyle is going to start game #1 for the Chiefs next year.
I don't think you'll do it. This line: Brodie Croyle will start opening game for the Chiefs next year. |
Quote:
The only opinion that I've EVER espoused is that Huard SHOULDN'T be our starting QB going forward. Whether he starts or not is immaterial. It doesn't change the fact that he's a career backup QB that's over 30 and going NOWHERE. |

The Chiefs, with Herm Edwards, are a SAFE team. They're not a GOOD team. |
I'll say it, unless Green stays somehow and keeps the starting role, Brodie Croyle will be our Starting QB on opening day.

Let me recap the last 6 months or so on the Huard debate between you and I:
Very beginning: (Green still injured, Huard playing well) Hootie: I think Huard is a better fit for the Chiefs in this system then Green. htismaqe: You're an idiot, no he isn't, everyone hates you. (Green gets healthy, starts vs. the Raiders) Hootie: Man, Green sucks ass, I can't believe Huard isn't playing. htismaqe: Huard wouldn't do any better. I know that for a fact. I'm Mr. Fact guy. Hootie: Oh. (Green continues playing poorly, Chiefs lose three in a row) Hootie: Jesus Christ, I can't believe they are still allowing Green to play over Huard. htismaqe: It's the line, not Green. I realize Huard had the SAME ****ING LINE BLOCKING FOR HIM, but Green slept with Jordan Black's boyfriend and that made Black angry, so that's why Green is playing so bad. He's better than Huard for this team, I know that for a fact. I'm Mr. Fact Guy. (Offseason starts - I'll leave out the ATROCIOUS Colts game) Hootie: I know we're going to resign Huard and get rid of Green. No doubt in my mind Huard is the starting QB for the Chiefs next year. htismaqe: You're an idiot. He's a UFA. He isn't resigning in KC. You're ****ing stupid. (Huard resigns) Hootie: Man, I sure was right about Huard. htismaqe: Uh, uh, oh, uh, uh uhm CROYLE IS STARTING HUARD SIGNED FOR BACKUP MONEY THAT'S WHAT I MEANT ALL ALONG. Hootie: Oh, yeah. (Tony G says he's confident in Huard on NFL Network) Hootie: Man, it sure is looking like Huard is going to start next year. htismaqe: It's 50/50, like I said all along. I'm always right. |
embarrassed, htismaqe?

Out of all that trash you just typed, one shining kernel of truth stands out above the rest.

Here's a thread from June 2006, where I tell everybody in the thread that keeping Printers and cutting Huard would be the worst move the Chiefs could make. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...ighlight=huard Here's a post 9/17/2006 where I clearly state that the offensive line hurt HUARD. In fact, it was a common theme all year long, regardless of who was playing QB, and you'd know that if you knew how to use the search function. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...rd#post3424935 And I continuously stated that the reason *I* thought Trent Green should start when he came back was because I'm an old schooler that doesn't believe the starter should lose his job because of injury. I also stated multiple times that Huard failed to do a single thing above and beyond what Trent did, which is, to this day 100% correct. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...rd#post3533940 I openly admitted that Huard should have been inserted as the starter at halftime of the playoff game. I had Damon Huard as my #1 overachiever for the year. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...rd#post3726736 As far as me saying we weren't going to sign Huard, find it. I'm guessing you'll have just as much luck finding that post as I did. Probably because it DOESN'T EXIST. |

I can't always make you look like an idiot right away. Sometimes it requires some research. |

I assume the "laughing" doesn't mean anything, right? Go ahead, beat around the bush some more. "I uh, uh, uh, well, I was laughing because uh, well, uh I KNEW HUARD WAS GOING TO BE RESIGNED I JUST, uh, didn't think, uh, he'd be the uh, starter." |
Quote:
Oh Hootie, I'd rather have a hand party from Edward Scissorhands than stroke your overinflated ego. Huard is still "eh" at best. He's Trent Dilfer with alot less starts. |
Quote:
You proclaimed Huard would be the starter. I laughed. That has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO with Huard signing a contract. But I'm not surprised you're trying to connect them now after the fact. |
You know, on second thought, you might not want to learn how to use the search function, for your own sake.
So far, it's only made you look more stupid. |
You're stupid.
|
OOOH, GOT HIM GOOOOOD!

Also, his team doctor likely prescribed that his hands would soften by soaking them in cider. |
