Has There Ever Been a Happier Day on the Planet?

Sime and Hicks gone in the same day?

Seriously, has this site ever experienced such a level of across the board joy?

I know there are other threads I could have posted this in, but it's Christmas morning and I'll do whatever the hell I want.

The Franchise 05-01-2007 01:22 PM

I would say happy that they're both gone.

I'm ****ing ecstatic that we actually got something for Sims.

siberian khatru 05-01-2007 01:23 PM

God, if only we had drafted Joe Staley ...

Phobia 05-01-2007 01:23 PM

I'm a little upset that I have useless 90 and 98 jerseys in my closet...

Oh, no wait. No I don't.

Mecca 05-01-2007 01:24 PM

I honestly wonder if anyone in the city really does have jerseys of them.......that would be pretty sad.

carlos3652 05-01-2007 01:24 PM

Since I have joined... Never... there is always a negative spin on everything good that happens... Im still waiting for the negatives to come up like:

Sims was a first round pick, anything less and its dissapointing.... lol

I for one am HAPPY!

MOhillbilly 05-01-2007 01:25 PM

hahaha i didnt know hicks got cut.

**** you hicks.

Chiefs release pair of veteran linemen

By ADAM TEICHER

The Kansas City Star

After fortifying themselves with defensive linemen in last weekend’s draft, the Chiefs unloaded a couple of veteran lineman today. They traded defensive tackle Ryan Sims, a former first-round draft pick, to Tampa Bay for an undisclosed draft pick. They also released Eric Hicks, a former starting defensive end.The moves had been widely expected for months and they became imminent on Saturday when the Chiefs drafted Tennessee’s Turk McBride in the second round and North Carolina State’s Tank Tyler in the third.

noa 05-01-2007 01:26 PM

All this great news, plus I heard Willie Roaf is coming back for one final shot at the championship!

oldandslow 05-01-2007 01:26 PM

I remember how happy I was the day Sims was drafted - I thought it was a great pick...

I am happier today though. That CP got a draft pick out of this is simply amazing.

Iowanian 05-01-2007 01:27 PM

Maybe after Bobby Bouchette showed up at halftime and the Mud dawgs won the bourbon bowl.....I mean Dante Hall returned a late punt to beat the donkeys, though I was there, and not here, so I wouldn't technically know.

No Bartee.....No Sims.....no Hicks.

Sucking this year might be easier to swallow now, without those 3 goiters.

Chiefnj 05-01-2007 01:27 PM

I don't think anything can top the day that GROB resigned.

I dont know, few were saying it was the players and not the coach...

I think it was a happy day for most, but not for all... I still have yet to see one person that is mad about this, or says that this wont fix anything...

pikesome 05-01-2007 01:30 PM

I wonder what the feeling is on the Buc boards. :)

I wish they had waited to release Bartee until today too, that would have made it an even sweeter day.

Maybe before the day's over they'll announce the trade of Green and Wesley :)

Our D's latest version of the 3 stooges.

To cap off the day...

Trade Kendrell Bell to the Broncos for a third round pick and a case of Fat Tire.

StcChief 05-01-2007 02:13 PM

Great day. The house cleaning ain't over.

This could be a best week. Green deal, Wesley,
Bell move.

Some would like to see GW gone
but he is a terrific backup -just expensive

And I can't believe we got ANYTHING for Sims!

What did you say re the firing to irk Bob?

RealSNR 05-01-2007 03:32 PM

They sound just like Chiefs fans. We pick up a mediocre guy and we say "at least he's better than William Bartee" or "at least he's better than Jordan Black"

Chris Hovan sounds like quite the fatass.

Only went to two of mine today....feelings appear to be mixed with a fair amount not knowing much about him ( including myself). Apparently he's slated for 2nd string. So the feeling is why not?... to a decent pickup for what we need as Monte is really shoring up the D after that fiasco last season. To feeling really happy as he's big and his body fills in for what was lost when Sapp went.

Tom Poston dying is just icing on the cake.

Red and Gold Mania 05-01-2007 04:02 PM

Boy oh boy, I don't post often but love to read you guys. This indeed is a happy day, we should enjoy it as much as possible. Being a Chiefs fan shortens the life span, so we should enjoy every bit of these good news.

Just remember what we went through: Hacketts, Rayes, Grbacs, Donnell Bennetts (I still hate and shudder on this one), Chester McGlockton, Dan Williams, Mighty Mouse, Chris Dishman, Carlton Grey, Pat Dennis, Lew Bush, Downing, Freeman, Siavii, Woods, Westley, Beisel, Cadrez, Peter Guinta, Dick For Meal, Crockett, Chittick, Harts, Mike Cloud, Blaylock, Shawn Barber, Patton, Stills, Truluck, that 6"9' tight end whose grandma was posting on CP, and many many other illiterate bums that should be begging for a job at local Taco Bell.

****!

Clean the house Herm!

It is a little disturbing that we get so happy when someone leaves...ie. The Stooges, GRob, now Hicks and Sim. I wish we had happier reasons to be happy.

I thought there defense wanted to get better, not worse. lol

The "greatest" baseball fans are pretty un-informed as well. Its funny to hear them bitch about the Cardinals not spending enough on payroll this offseason.

Yeah though I have a little respect for the Cardinals though because they want to win and do what they need to, to do it. I wish the Royals would do that, looks like they're starting to dig themselves out of a 12-13 year hole.

Rams fans though are ****ing reeruns. Every single last one of them.

I agree with most of these but I always liked Patton. He was pretty solid for most of his time here.
Stills was a good special teamer as well.

That was one of the best days in Chiefs history. Of course, it is arguably the most embarrassing too. That Vermiel sob fest was ridiculous.
