I've been considering doing this for a while, so here goes. A thread to discuss anyone & anything relating to the show.

They keep a pretty tight lid on all images & apparently stay after youtube as well, so those kinds of things might be a 'lil hard to come by, but oh well.

Pretty much everyone here seems to be a fan of it on some level, so it might be kinda fun.

Its as close to Cant Miss Television as there is for me.

On deck tonight, Molly Shannon with Stinkin Park.

Molly doesnt have any movie coming out that i'm aware of, so this must be a sort of sympathy pick for host. She's hilarious though, so it should be pretty good tonight...outside of Linkin Park anyway.

I used to love SNL but it's gone downhill in the past few years IMO. I haven't watched it recently, though.

Yeah, it goes through ups & downs, but i think the new group is starting to do good. My fave right now is Fred Armisen, he's excellent IMO.

A skit i really love was just on the E! showing..."Homocil", cause its not their problem, its yours...

Actually IMO it's almost as good as it was before. It had some really bad years from 03-06 but it's starting to become good again. It's just the way SNL is. 10 years from now people will be saying, "It's nothing like it was with Bill Hader and Will Forte. These people suck!!!"

I agree. You have to put up with the 3 shitty skits to get the one great one. It's always been that way.

I actually think it's been better recently then it was a few years back.

Looks like i'm wrong about the youtube skits, i thought SNL pulled the plug on stuff that goes over there.

SNL has good on-screen talent right now, but a lot of times it's hard to tell with the writing. I think they need to do some writing staff reshuffling if they want to rise to the same level of prominence they once enjoyed.

She is the female Will Ferrell, completely unafraid to use her body in embarrassing ways for a laugh.

The Linkin Park guitarist looks like Brad Delp during a full moon.

That has to be one of the worst vocal performances I have ever heard. That guy is nothing without effects added to his voice, and the music itself was very, very average.

I always thought that character was a cross between Paula Poundstone & a few other ultra lame female comedians.

I can't hardly stand anything SNL has done in a LONG time. But I laughed so hard at the Natalie rap... occasionally I get it stuck in my head and have to go watch it again.

It certainly helps that I would do dirty, dirty things to her if she'd let me.

I'm just glad I didnt end up watching dick_in_a_box again

I remember seeing that the first time it aired,one of my faves also loved pretty much anything Murphy ever did in his spoofs of Mr. Roger's neighborhood

That skit is an absolute classic. They would never get away with that today.

The look was Paula, but Paula's actually funny.

Love the MacGrubers. Loved all 3 last ep. Dunno is the 'huh' when asked if he was mixing a drink or the whole Hasselhoff ep was the funniest.

Chevy Chase's fall-downs and trip-overs are absolutely classic


Belushi was the heart and soul of SNL...until Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, Will Ferrel, and a few others left their marks.

We'll have to agree to disagree about Poundstone though.

I'll admit I haven't seen her standup in a while, but she's very witty on 'Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me' and was a good tension cutter on the last Maher show.

I'm not familiar with that show & sadly, i dont have HBO anymore, so i'll have to take your word for it.

You left out Eddie Murphy. I honestly believe he single handidly saved that show in the early 80's. It was awful for about a season after all the original cast left.

I still think the will ferrell "lovers" sketches were one of the greatest, esp when jimmy fallon was involved in that one, where they cracked up the whole time.

Yeah, that was hilarious in the hot-tub with Drew Barrymore.

Jimmy Fallon's fake laughing drove me nuts. Guy was a tool, almost ruined More Cowbell, one of the greatest skits of all time.

I know I'm gonna get blasted for saying this but...

most overrated skit of all time.

Yeah, you're going to get blasted. That skit was the bee's knees.

I liked it... mainly because I like Walken. It's just kinda taken on a life of it's own, and I didn't think it was particularly special.

Not sure if it was "fake" laughing, i mean sometimes it was damn hard to not laugh, and fallon is a pretty funny guy imo.

Referring to the hot tub sketch, yes tha twas classic, hell all the lovers ones are funny. I also liked harry carey in outerspace or whatever and celebrity jeapordy.

Also, the Patty Patty Buke Buke McGauflin bits were classic. The Sinatra Group was good as well.

I always liked Tim Kazurinsky as Dr. Jack Badofsky.

Ok, not sure what the name of the host is tonight, heard it last week & totally didnt know the guy...IIRC, the band sux too.

Its the season finale, so i'm guessing they are counting on a great showing from the cast & writers to carry this one.

But in the meantime, heres a skit that NEVER fails to crack me up..."The Tony Bennett Show", with the actual TB stopping by to join in the fun, Baldwin, as always, is great with this.

Zach Braff (Scrubs)

Thanx, i guess i have heard of him, but have only watched about 1/2 an episode of Scrubs.

They usually try to bust out a big name for openers & finales, i guess i'm a 'lil disappointed...i hope the writers came up with some whiz-bang material.

The best thing to do is get your hopes way, way, way down. Works every time. When Ludacris and Peyton Manning hosted this season, I did just that and enjoyed the show (Especially Manning's)

The Italian talk show was gold.

The seductive dog was soooo nasty. But I laughed.

I like Zach Braff. (The monologue sucked, though)

That was pretty great.

My favorite was the talking dog. Very screwed up but also hilarious.

I thought they were going to parady scrubs or do something like that. There was alot of garden state references that flew over my head.
