-   -   How Will The Chiefs Find Their RB? (https://chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=16359)

AJKCFAN 04-18-2001 03:58 PM

Another year and another chance to finally solve the Chiefs RB woes.

We do know this. No more committee. Now the question is, who will be the Chiefs featured RB this year?

Time to vote. Once the ballots are counted, the results are final (but we won't tell you to leave immediately)

cjderby 04-18-2001 04:51 PM

I just voted for Bennett. Don't think this is how they will SOLVE their RB problem, just how they'll ADDRESS it...

Logical 04-18-2001 04:59 PM

Since None of the Above was present I was unable to vote.

I do not feel the Chiefs will solve their running back problems this year.

That's funny.... :D

old_geezer 04-18-2001 08:36 PM

Hey! How come "He Hate Me" wasn't an option?

:D :D :D

NaptownChief 04-18-2001 08:55 PM

In all honesty, I would rather sign John Avery than Priest Holmes...And that is before factoring in the money issue...Avery can be had for league min while Holmes' agent is living a pipe dream thinking his back up RB is worth a $10 million commitment.

JOhn 04-19-2001 09:11 AM

Well I guess it's kinda obvious who I would like to see, but in case anyone missed it...

Moreau-HB
Richardsson-FB

If they choose to draft I would prefer LaDainian Tomlinson. But in order to do that they would lose a 1strnd pick that I believe would be better used elswere.

(see no easy solution to the HB problem)

AJKCFAN 04-19-2001 01:38 PM

JL80:

You're absolutely right with Holmes and his ridiuclous demands.

He should be thankful about being a starter and for that he should be asking at least half of that price to play here.

I'm going to curse up a storm if he comes here...

Ron:

Thought that would "He Hate Me" was at first John Tait after the Locke-Peterson blow up, but now I recall that XFL player. Wasn't "He Hate Me" a DB?

DenverChief 04-20-2001 07:17 PM

"HeHateMe" was a running back for the Las Vegas Outlaws...and yes I watched too much XFL:)

tommykat 04-20-2001 07:25 PM

AKC.....
You may end up cussing up a storm. On KFFL they are talking that the Chiefs are trying to sign Holmes now.
Sorry you feel that way...I know the money, but could be another DT?? :)

Zebedee DuBois 04-20-2001 09:09 PM

I want to change my vote.
I meant to punch the "Sign Holmes" chad. But I mistakenly hit the Draft Bennet chad.
Misleading arrows.
Dang it all.
:D

tommykat 04-20-2001 09:14 PM

Zebedee DuBois
You are to funny....I like to read what you say...
Dang it all! Sounds like something I would say.....LOL.
Let's all keep on smiling that big:D

Zebedee DuBois 04-20-2001 09:22 PM

Why thankyou Miss Tommykat, that is very, ah say, very kind of you.

(Affecting a southern gentlemen's accent) ;)

AJKCFAN 04-20-2001 11:38 PM

For all 16 of you that picked Priest Holmes, congratulations. You got your man.

Frazod 02-13-2003 06:45 PM

I voted to sign Holmes. Call it a gut feeling.... :D

BIG_DADDY 02-13-2003 06:45 PM

Was there ever any doubt. Priest!!

DenverChief 02-13-2003 06:46 PM

Who is John Avery anyway and where is he as of 2-13-03?

craneref 02-13-2003 06:48 PM

I love the easy polls, nothing like hindsight to help you witht he right choice (Before I get blasted, I know this was just brought back tot he top from WAAAAAAAY down) By the way got to give Carl and DV credit for this one, our greatest FA signing ever. GO CHIEFS

he was the first round pick, IIRC, of the 'phins in the 1998 draft... fast, but never panned out

Damn, did anybody EVER like Cloud? ROFL

chief52 02-13-2003 06:57 PM

Any way for the mods to tell us who the 16 are that voted for Priest? That would be interesting...

Not with this version of vBulletin. In a couple months, we'll have that capability.

I liked Cloud because I thought he was unfairly judged. We couldn't possibly evaluate him with the amount of touches he had. All that changed after games 15 and 16 of 2003.

Ultra Peanut 04-14-2003 03:50 AM

I think we should go with Cloud. He's proven that he deserves a shot...

If thats the case, then I DEFINATELY voted for Holmes.:D

Look at some of the options that were being contemplated. Tomlinson, Priest, McCallister, Bennett, Travis Henry, Thomas are 1000 yard rushers, iirc. Barlow has shown flashes.

In hindsight we had some nice talent to choose from.

Damn right. I really wanted Henry, Barlow or Lamont Jordan at the time. IMO, Kevan Barlow is one of the most underrated players in the league. He could be a superstar once he gets a starting job.

Bastard took carries away from Garrison Hearst and hurt me in FF last season...

*grumble grumble*

I had Barlow :grr: ;)

FWIW, I heard that Erickson wants to give most of the carries back to Hearst. Not that he was ever accused of knowing what the **** he was talking about.
