Is that a change from last season?

cookster50 06-11-2007 04:34 PM

Suck it up big boy, Ocho Cinco gotta pay da billz.

kcxiv 06-11-2007 04:39 PM

They should at least put all the games in HD now for that much. I will keep getting it, because there is no way i am going to watch 16 Raider games, **** that.

Megbert 06-11-2007 04:45 PM

Just over 14 bucks a game. Which is still less than what I'd pay every week at the sports bar. If I didn't I'd get cardinals games every week.

When you lay it out like that...seems reasonable.

TinyEvel 06-11-2007 04:59 PM

I was able to get free Superfan (you need it for HD and the 30-minute "shortcuts" are pretty cool) got it last year during the Father's Day promotion. Though, it was when I signed up for the first time.

I thought my renewal was a little under $200 last year, but I don't remember for sure...

Wait, the figure $187.50 just popped into my head. I'm almost sure that's what it was last year. I haven't received a renewal yet this year, but I'm sure it will probably be the same as Mr. Dole's....

Man, if it has gone up $40 in one year.... :shake:

Frazod 06-11-2007 06:13 PM

And add another $99 for HD. That's $328 to watch programs that are about 60% commercials.

Man, we're worse than crackheads. :shake:

Yep, and the fact that we pay $100 for HD games, and only get about half of them blows.

chief52 06-11-2007 06:24 PM

Just pulled up my bill from last season for the Ticket. 5 payments of $41.80 for a total of $209.00. Nice little $20 raise for the NFL this year.

Have to cover that higher cap number! :p

Frazod 06-11-2007 06:28 PM

Allegedly, at some point this year (and I'll believe it when I see it) DTV is going to dramatically up the number of HD channels they broadcast - or in other words, the rotten thieving one who sucks the peniss will finally justify the added expense of HD channels that I've been paying for a year and a half already (I get SEVEN whole channels currently - woohoo :whackit: ). Of course, they won't say when, just "later this year."

Bastards. At least I'm finally not having issues with my local channels in HD.

And after that Sopranos fiasco, I'm done with HBO, in HD or otherwise. That'll lower the monthly bill a bit.

DaKCMan AP 06-11-2007 06:29 PM

I'll spend more than $14 per week at the sports bar, but I look at it as a $14 credit towards food & beer each week. :D

EyePod 06-11-2007 06:45 PM

There's awebsite that I used last season which has a list of games that are streamed on the internet, and it has the links for them.

http://streamednfl.blogspot.com/

This is also FREE! All you have to do is download the specified programs, and they have links on the website. I'd rather save the $230. GL

I am very interested to see how that turns out. I will have the chance to switch back to D* later this year when I move. I currently have Dish HD and LOVE the large HD channel lineup. As of right now, D* has the worst HD lineup.

Logical 06-11-2007 08:48 PM

Dammit Dole I would have never known if you had not posted this thread. Sunday Ticket almost is not worth it given the route the Chiefs are taking under Herm with the boring offense.:cuss::cuss::cuss:

I tend to agree Logical. We have it on 10 receivers and they hit you a little extra on each.

True but the youth and growth of the players should be enough to keep it interesting.... And the fact that we dont have to watch Hicks, Bartee, Wesley and others should be motivation enough....

What will be hard is watching guys like Trent in another uniform...

kcxiv 06-12-2007 03:17 AM

i will take a good defense over a bad offense any day.

While DV's offenses were fun to watch. Some of them Loses were just painful to watch. I would sit there and tell myself. Ok Defense just 1 stop. You just need to stop them now when it counts. Well, that shit never happend. lol

ILChief 06-12-2007 05:06 AM

it would be nice if they went one year without raising the price

They are taking a page out of King Carl's book. As long as the majority of the peeps continue to pay the higher costs, the price will continue soaring.

ChiefsfaninPA 06-12-2007 05:58 AM

I am renewing and the price increase doesn't bother me that much. All in all, to take my family to a game would be way more the 229, so I get ALL of the NFL games (not just what my local market wants me to watch) in the comfort of my own home. This is actually a steal to me.

With the exception of the games carried on the NFL channel, of course. Those are not covered by the NFL package.

DTV and the Sunday Ticket... Never miss a game, regardless if it is on NFL network or not...

NY CHIEF 06-12-2007 07:03 AM

Directv is launching sat#10 on july 6th , should have over 100 hd by sept-oct of this year

dtebbe 06-12-2007 09:16 AM

Plus $99 for HD right?

DT

No, they're covered by the basic DirecTV package you have to buy to be able to add Sunday Ticket.

This is great and all, but it doesn't mean that the AFC games will be in HD. CBS needs to get their head out of their arses and broadcast the games in HD or it won't matter how many HD channels DTV offers.

$20=less than 3 Boulevard Wheats at Arrowhead,I'll take it.

At $5 per it's not that bad if all your receivers are together and you're getting to view all the games at once,of course if your tv's are here there and everywhere, then ouch.

ROYC75 06-12-2007 10:59 AM

Damn, a cornered market and they continue to go up each year......

Seriously, I'm pissed off about it. But what can you do ? Nothing, either pay it or don't watch it.

Basturds............

100 Channels? Eh, when KC is the 32nd market, and we have 4 main channels, well, you do the math. Then you have to figure that some of those are East and West HBO, East and West Showtime...

DTV brag is number that their network supports, no how many you can actually see in your market. I actually get 23 HD channels (27 if you count E and W) on my system.

ct 06-12-2007 11:23 AM

If I ever move out of the Chiefs 'local coverage' area, I will pay for it. Until then, I'm just fine with non-HD but free coverage.

Chieftain58 06-12-2007 01:06 PM

they need to add the preseason games into the Sunday ticket, but then again they will add another $50 to the price

I don't think they ever will be able to because I think the local markets own these games. I believe that they are only allowed to be shown through the local affiliate of that teams market.

kcxiv 06-12-2007 03:00 PM

NFL network shows all the preseason games, but most are a tape delay. I hope the NFL network goes HD all the time.

Garcia Bronco 06-12-2007 03:24 PM

229...that's up 100 percent in 7 years. wow...what a rip-off

What are the odds that they raise the price of HD???
