How do you make your Mac & Chz??

Thats my dinner tonight. 2 packages of Mac & Chz, a can of peas, 3 sliced hot dogs, some mozzarella chz, black pepper. Makes a pretty tasty meal out of a cheap box

DaKCMan AP 07-18-2007 07:53 PM

if I'm making the boxed kind I usually just add some milk and butter. sometimes some extra sharp cheddar. and pepper.

JBucc 07-18-2007 07:56 PM

I don't do any of that fancy hot dog n peas stuff. I just add some butter and whatever type of cheese I happen to have.

Bugeater 07-18-2007 08:08 PM

Hell yeah, that was a staple for me back when I was young and poor. A can of tuna works good instead of the hot dogs as well.

bkkcoh 07-18-2007 08:09 PM

i have added some grilled chicken strips to it also, not too bad eiter.. :)

KCChiefsMan 07-18-2007 08:28 PM

ya it's hard to beat Mac & Chz when you want something quick and easy

DMAC 07-18-2007 08:28 PM

Salt n Pepper, extra shredded cheese and, thanks to Nzoner, a Peanut Butter sandwich on the side.

boogblaster 07-18-2007 09:48 PM

Boil the mac..dump the water..add the cheese..adjust seasoning too taste..consume......

milkman 07-18-2007 10:20 PM

I'd rather eat cardboard.

Mac and Cheese sucks.

cdcox 07-18-2007 10:35 PM

Back int the day there used to be a recipie on the Kraft Mac & Cheese box for something called Western Supper. It was Mac and Cheese, some hot dogs, a can of tomatos, pickle relish and mustard. Maybe another ingredient or two. I thought it was pretty tasty but I could never convince any one else of the merit of this dish.

Gee, did you ever consider that maybe some of us weren't fortunate enough to be raised on Hamburger Helper every night? We had to make do with what we had.

ClevelandBronco 07-18-2007 10:56 PM

I tried to make it once. I just inserted a square of pasteurized process cheese food product into my CD drive.

I didn't work. I had to buy a new Mac.

I still don't know why people say it's so cheap. Cost me damned near $2,000 and I'm still hungry.

RJ 07-18-2007 10:59 PM

Ever since I decided to try to prolong my life I've mostly eliminated boxed mac & cheese from the menu. Back in the day, though, I usually used the type that had the "cheese" in the squeezable foil pouch.

I never use that entire cheese package, that's a bit rich for me, even before my desire to live longer. Does anyone use that whole dealio?

Sounds mac'n'cheesilicious.

Got any ideas for a can of Spam that materialized in my cupboard about six years ago?

Guys like you are the reason I've been able to live comfortably eating out of dumpsters for years now. Thank you, and keep those half used envelopes of semi-liquid cheese coming, folks.

Hamburger Helper?

Yeah, that shit was great.

It would have probably been better if we had, you know, hambuger with it though.

Use to but think I got burned out in my younger days. I hardly have it anymore.

I always preferred the dry powder version, but my family prefers the foil package variety and we always use the whole pounch. We'd serve it with fried kilbasa and a can of green beans.

I think we'll be taking that out of our winter meal rotation though, since my cholesterol and triglycerides came back moderately high this week. I too, would like to stick around for a while. I'll still have a high-fat meal from time to time, but that one isn't going to be one I want to spluge on.

Yes. My idea is that you should check the expiration date. Even SPAM (correct spelling) has it's limits.

Spam is classified as meat?

I thought it had it's own special category.

Hormel Foods Inc. thanks you for enjoying SPAMŽ Brand Luncheon Meat exclusively in luncheon recipes, and encourages you to refrain from abusing your SPAMŽ privileges by including SPAMŽ in breakfasteon, dinnereon, suppereon or snackeon recipes. Unlicensed use of SPAMŽ Brand Luncheon Meat during unauthorized meals and/or noshes may be subject to prosecution.

Pork shoulder and ham, as I recall.

The story gets more intriguing, though. It turns out that this is a can of Great Value Luncheon Meat, not SPAMŽ, and for all I know, Sam Walton was still alive when this delicacy was marketed by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.

The "best if used by" date appears to be 05/17/2009. I guess this stuff becomes a WMD on 05/18/2009.
