Up by 3 with one hole to play..........
I'll call it, Watson wins Sr. British Open. :D |
Holy Shit ! He dropped 2 shots and won by 1 on the last hole. :shake:

What a great week. Last Sunday, Paddy wins it, loses it, then snatches it back from Garcia.
Today, Kansas city's 3rd franchise holds tight and wins the Open. Another nice rainbow of a day. |
Historically, is Tommy Watson underrated?

IMO, he gets his due. |
Congrats Tommy! :toast:

The guy had, and is recognized as having the best run in golf between 75 and 85. He lost his PGA putting touch and that was all she wrote. You just wonder what type of damage he could have done had he been able to keep the putter in check. I'd guess at least 2-3 more majors would have been highly attainable. |

Crenshaw, while a great player and sentimental favorite after winning The Masters a few weeks after his golf mentor died, was never the player Tom was in his prime. For several seasons, and even this weekend, the announcers mentioned numerous times that when Watson hits the ball, he strikes it so cleanly, that it makes a much different sound than any of his competitors. And because of Tom W's bad hip, he rarely practices any more. |
