Jimmy Wilkerson
Position Defensive End Height 6-2 Weight 290 Years Experience 5 Birthdate 1/4/1981 Hometown Omaha, TX College Oklahoma Current status Active Games Started 3 Games Played 56 i believe he's now on a 1 year deal after being bounced around between Defensive tackle and defensive end during his time with the Chiefs. i think he's just a DE now and a pretty good backup guy really ...... i like him. He's sort of a tweener though and should probably be a Defensive end in a 3-4 defense. |

I remembered seeing three P4P, but one may have been taken away from him.
I think one might've been questionable based on where the QB was when he was brought down. Not sure about that though. |
Glad to see him continue to be a very solid DLine man. T/DE

I think I can help

Wilkerson's a 290 lbs hybrid. He can be a DE, he can squat down and play some DT. He's a Dick Vermeil draft pick that's underachieved because Dick had no idea how to utilize draft picks in KC.
Under Herm, Jimmy's gotten some traction. He played a lot last year because the depth across the DL was piss poor, and he made quite a few plays. He'll never be a starter in the NFL, but he's got the motor and athleticism to be a quality backup. I think he already is. Jon McGraw was, oddly enough, a somewhat flubbed Herm Edwards draft pick with the Jets. He was a 2nd rounder, but hasn't lived up to that status, playing backup safety just about everywhere. He's a pretty tall dude, and he's pretty damn fast -- certainly faster than Pollard or Page. He looooooves the big hit, though, and is always looking to land it, often times to his detriment. Instead of playing a smart, conservative angle, he'll go for the hit and find himself out of position. He was responsible for the touchdown run last night, because instead of going outside and covering the flat he tried to cut inside behind a DE to smack the runner. He was out of position to do that, and as a result nobody was on the near side to prevent the touchdown run. McGraw's a talented kid and a great hitter. His decision-making is faulty sometimes, but he's a quality backup who always seems to be around the ball. |
