Coming soon: "The NFL's Top 1696 Players"

CoMoChief 08-29-2007 12:57 PM

LJ not even in top 30, yet he's the 2nd best RB in the NFL.

Tamba Hali in front of Jared Allen

A rookie in Paul Poslunszy who's never played a down in the NFL is ranked higher than Donnie Edwards, someone who's led the Chargers defense in tackles multiple times.

Page, Pollard, Huard, Bennett, and Colquitt are all ranked higher than Ty Law

Once again King proves to be the biggest dumb**** in the national football media.

FD 08-29-2007 12:57 PM

What an arbitrary and stupid list

Stephen Jackson and Reggie Bush above LJ. I stopped reading when I saw that.

Redrum_69 08-29-2007 01:00 PM

13 Chiefs

jiveturkey 08-29-2007 01:01 PM

Ty Law barely made it.

With good cleats that guy is top 100.

Yeah, he's the CE Wendler of writers.

Direckshun 08-29-2007 01:17 PM

Can somebody post a list of the Chiefs, and where they're at?

Dr. Van Halen 08-29-2007 01:27 PM

This crap matters. We read it. Sports fans everywhere read it.

Not everyone is as "smart" (maybe I should say "savvy") as the people here, and they are going to grow up and work for EA Sports and give the Chiefs crap ratings on Madden '15.

The Franchise 08-29-2007 01:29 PM

Where's Trent Green? I'm at work and they block Sports Illustrated.

Good list

His reasoning for dropping Jared Allen is ridiculous. Allen got his suspension reduced and has been a model citizen so far. Of course, he could slip up, but its not really a lingering problem the way he makes it out to be.

but he has always been a huge Chiefs fan. :p

Rooster 08-29-2007 02:25 PM

I was expecting the first 53 players to be Patriots. I'm a little surprised.

King jumped off the Patriots bandwagon again. Now he is back to sucking Manning's balls.

Here is his convoluted method for ranking the players. Im still like WTF??

"So I thought I might make a list, the best of the best. The criteria: importance of the position (I had quarterback, left tackle, pass rusher and cornerback at the top, but with room for the explosive player), talent level and age -- with a nod to young players on the cusp of a breakout season (I rank opportunistic Jets safety Kerry Rhodes 29th) and to team-oriented guys (selfless Javon Walker 80, selfish Terrell Owens 103). Though part-time players, four impact return men (in order, Hester, Jones-Drew, Pacman, Wes Welker) were placed among the top 126. The best special teams player last year (outside of return men and kickers), Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard, landed at 320. Keeping in mind what Bill Parcells said in his most recent incarnation as an NFL coach -- "It's incredible what a field-position game this has become" -- I made room on the list for six kickers and six punters."

Ha, just saw this list.

By my count there are 6 other teams' BACKUP QB's rated ahead of Huard, which sounds about right to me.
