MLB Playoff Predictions
So who's gonna win? This is about as wide open as it gets.
American League Red Sox (96-66) vs. Angels (94-68) Indians (96-66) vs. Yankees (Wild Card, 94-68) National League D'backs (90-72) vs. Cubs (85-77) Phillies (89-73) vs. Rockies (Wild Card, 90-73) |
I have a BAD feeling the Yankees are going to win it all this year...
But hell, after the Rockies tonight, who's rooting against them??? I'd love to see the Cubs win it all, personally... |
Indians vs Rockies

Prediction?
Pain. |
I predict A-Rod will start his annual slump right about now, which will give the Yankees their excuse.
|
I dont care, as long as the D'Backs or Rockies win it all.
I'll still root for my division to show people whats up in the playoffs. Okay...I guess I'll Play Rockies over Phillies D'Backs over Cubs Yankees over Indians Red Sox over Angels D'Backs over Rockies Yankees over Red Sox D'Backs over Yankees |

I haven't followed baseball at all this year. The only teams I know anything about are the Yanks and Sox and that's just because ESPN shoves them down your throat.

That's twice I've gotten that message tonight. |

The Yanks are the hottest team, that's gotta count for something. I'd say Yanks over Angels in the LCS and Yanks over Phillies in the WS. I don't trust the D-backs (too young) or the Rockies' rotation. And the Cubs can burn in hell. |
I think the Rockies rotation could be the secret weapon of the whole thing. They've got some nasty arms nobody has heard of. Morales and Jimenez were huge the last week or so... plus Jeff Francis. Now that they're in I don't think there's anything holding the Rockies back, except maybe Brandon Webb owning them 2 or 3 times. The Phillies bullpen scares the crap out of me.
I never thought I'd utter these words but I really think the Rockies might have the pitching to beat everyone else. Coors Field might make me eat that, but we'll see... they are on fire right now, and have an offense to match anyone. I don't know what their rotation order is gonna be, but those young guys have a chance to make a name for themselves, kinda like the '03 Marlins. I really have no idea what the Indians are gonna look like. Sabathia is gonna have to carry them. I think I still like the Red Sox in the AL. Either way I think I'm picking the winner of the Angels/Red Sox series. They each have three solid starters and a bullpen to shut it down. |

As long as the Red Sox or Yankees dont win I will be happy.
NL - I would love to see a Rockies/Cubs NLCS AL - Angels/Indians |

The Yankees rotation is still pretty shaky overall. I can't see myself being afraid of Chien Ming Wang, Pettite, and Clemens. The Angels look really good up front with Lackey, Escobar, and Weaver, and guys like Chone Figgins become infinitely more dangerous in October when station to station baseball takes a back seat. The Indians have a great 1-2, but Carmona's never pitched on the big stage, and I would be scared about either Sizemore (because he K's way too much) or Hafner up in a big spot. They are supposed to be big bats, and Hafner in particular has sucked royal ass this year. However, they have a lot of gritty guys like Garko and Blake, and Jhonny Peralta has a lot of pop in his bat. I could make a convincing case for any AL team, but I'm underwhelmed with the NL squads. Should be an interesting month. |
I'd actually like the Indians, but Borowski scares me. Especially against the offenses that happened to make the playoffs. Watch him go prove me wrong.
