Emphasis on "poor man's". I doubt he'll ever be a Pro-Bowl player, but he does seem to have a similar skill set. He's a short QB who is pretty mobile and has a very accurate arm. He has acceptable arm strength, and seems to be a student of the game.

Chase will end up making money playing football in Canada or as a Todd Collins type. Still not a bad gig either way.

LOL, actually while watching KU today, I thought to myself a lot :"Wow, this is like the exact opposite experience of watching Huard."

He's young and we can build around him, he's fearless and has a good pocket feel. He also can throw the long ball.



Hell, even as bad as Nebraska is, Huard is worse. I doubt Huard could put up 76 on Nebraska. He'd be too worried about making mistakes or something.

I think he's 24 of 42 tonight, more like a Damon Huard or Elvis Grbac.

27-45 with ten drops in the first quarter. He also had 430 yards and five TDs.

At best he could be a Drew Brees type -- 6' tall, spread offense in college--has done alright as an NFL QB.

More likely to be a Koy Detmer type IMO -- career backup who can win for you in pinch.
