What happened to the hot coaching commodity Marty Shottenheimer?!
 

The Ravens and Dolphins have hired their HCs. The Falcons look like they are hiring the Jax DC for their HC. The Redskins will not hire Marty. What happened? Any Marty backers wanna explain?

Some teams like to win in the post-season. That's all I can think of....

The also know where the road will ultimately end, and they probably figured it was better to go with an unknown instead.

the Ravens was the team that was interested but they dont have the players so they went the easy route and took an unknown guy for less money, thats what happend. Jimmy Johnson,Bill Cowher and Marty are all the same great coaches that want a team they can win with right away and have the power to get who they want when they want and yes they wan't payed.
Who in the hell would want to coach the Falcons or Dolphins besides the money not many people would want to leave a pee wee job for one of those teams.

Marty didnt have to coach ever again after the Redskins. He got a HUGE multimillion dollar buyout from Synder, but yet he chose still chose to go the Bolts.

I don't think I'd hate that. His experience as a football man would be more helpful than taking the next young prodigy. Prodigies generally learn things the hard way. At least Marty knows every way to NOT win a playoff game. Presumably he would apply those lessons to building a winning franchise as GM.

Carl won't hire any coach where he doesn't have to give up a draft choice. You get what you pay for, right?

We'll go 2-14 next year and Clark'll think, 'well, I remember days when we won some games', so then he'll fire herm and king carl, and hire marty do coach and have complete control.

I don't know. We gave a fourth for Herm but Herm's gotten us a high first this year...

I'm not a huge Marty fan, but not a hater either. Much like Vermeil, he gave me a lot of fun years of Chiefs football. I can think of more than one team in the NFL that could probably do a lot worse than Marty and his play-off chokes.
