Planet Vegas Trip Part 2:March Madness
 

Last time we ended up with a decent little group of planeteers and had a great Sunday watching football together so I thought we'd try again,only this time for March Madness.

Myself and a high school buddy will be there March 19-25(opening weekend of the tournament)and are just giving a shout out and invite to any and all planeteers who might want to get together for some college hoops and the like.

We found $99 flights on Southwest and some decent room rates as well,so if anyone is sick and tired of all this snow and "wants to get away" do think about joining us.

Are any MUrons going?

Would you go if there weren't?

I'd love to. Be in Vegas that is. The wife has time coming up anyway she has to take...

Darn it, bad timing, I am already booked to be there March 30 to April 4th on business.
I know my budget would not allow for two trips out there in the same year, let alone the same month.
I am one of those guys you never hear about, I typically lose money in Vegas. :D

Dammit! I would love to be in Vegas anytime, but I've always wanted to go during March Madness. As it is, we are planning to go back in October this year and two trips in one year just ain't gonna happen.

I'm sure I can convince you to have a couple of margs for me though.

You going in October even if we don't play the Raiders then?I was thinking the Fall trip would be planned around that game.

As for the margs,no problem,just hope I can find that same bartender.

Our trip will most likely be planned around the Buffett concert, which has historically been the last two weekends in October.

I will be hosting part of the 'Madness" at the Hilton in the Barry Manilow theater. Yes I know--Good times and Good memories!!! Just not sure if its the same weekend.

We're doing it to impress the dude so we can host football there as well. Remeber those pansies hosting it when we went for the Raiders game? Yeah, they need to go.

No shows as of yet, but that doesnt mean one wont pop up. Happens all the time here. I will let you know the details on my end ASAP.

Seeing that I'm there a week earlier this time I think that's sound advice,however,I will be anxious to see come that following Monday what future bet odds will be to win the whole thing.

I have another friend who is out there right now and he called last night to let me know the Royals were 50-1 to win the Central,I said what the hell and threw $10 on them.

I just went to Vegas for the first time and loved it. And I always take the first 2 days of the tourny off anyway. And I've got cash to burn.

It isn't the MGM but this trip will have little room usage,we got 6 nights at Imperial Palace and roundtrip air for $417 each(2 of us) taxes and all.

I would love to go again but the last time I was in vegas I knocked my wife up so we won't be going back for awhile.

I'm assuming,although it doesn't cost me any of my rewards points,when I found out Harrah's had recently purchased IP I entered my account info and was quoted $348 for 6 nights.

That is how I feel about Eureka Springs, AR since last July.

So pay the higher plane fare and then pay $10 a day for a rollaway in our room,I mean it's not like we're going to the need room much anyway.

Stayed at the MGM last October for 5 days with the mrs,nice room,very good buffet but from now on we'll be staying at Harrah's properties.Good comps and great drink service while gambling.Also in my opinion the slots are alot looser at Harrah's.

Oh and as for the MGM sportsbook,it SUCKS,can't even use your player's card to bet on sports and 1 drink ticket per bet.If you're going to betting sports while there as well as watching make sure you take the monorail to the Hilton.

try to get a room in the west wing if you can. closer to the rest of the strip.

I've grown more reserved in my old age. Besides, Vegas is one of the few cities that puts up with people like me. I'm thinking of putting money on KU to win it all, that way if they lose I can claim that I jinxed them and if they win I can drown my sorrows with my illicit winnings.

I was in Vegas last year when they played So Illinois and UCLA,after the Saluki game about 200 Jayhawk fans formed a circle at Caesars and did the rockchalk etc so come Saturday at Manadaly Bay I put $50 on UCLA and had a helluva time(I was sitting next to two Jayhawk fans and there were plenty more throughout) by standing to my feet after they lost and belting Rockchalk.....

Always bet against who you want to win.

Since we're going opening round I've been considering taking the moneyline on a few of the favorites and staying away from the spreads.

Well, I will be around for sure! I am working the Barely Manenuff theater, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will be doing my entire show from there Th-Fri 10a-3p and then a few hours on the weekend.

Considering the guy that usually has a show in that room half the year, and it's named after him, I would say its very possible...the only gay place to watch sports in Vegas..LOL

Well this sucks,my buddy called and has to cancel due to what I'll call a work emergency so this trip to Vegas is off.Thought the possibility of having another friend go was going to work out until Southwest Airlines informed us that it would be an additional $350 over and above the original $237 plane ticket to change names.:cuss:After that bit of info we said screw it and are going to use the money for the Fall trip.
