Thank You Kyle (keg in kc)......

For single handedly keeping the board interesting at this late hour, i guess we are the only two mooks up.;)

Rausch 08-07-2001 11:26 PM

Don't know what a "mook" is, but I'm an insomniac....

So you can bet I'll be up....:D

keg in kc 08-07-2001 11:28 PM

Hah, thanks mook.

Although my fiance isn't so happy about it (and neither is the work I should be doing right now).

Insomnia is my nemesis.

mcan 08-07-2001 11:28 PM

I am always up at this hour 'cause I work from midnight to eight. BTW- I am the mookiest.

Fat Elvis 08-07-2001 11:29 PM

mook

n. Slang
An insignificant or contemptible person.

keg in kc 08-07-2001 11:29 PM

Then a mook am I!

Rausch 08-07-2001 11:31 PM

Wow, by that definition pretty much EVERYONE is a mook....:D

"Insomnia.....You're never really asleep, and never really awake."

I think I could quote FIGHT CLUB all day....

Anyone who would actually look the word up in the dictionary is, by definition, a mook.

D'oh!

Otter 08-07-2001 11:34 PM

Kyle,

Are you sitting up with your friend Jack again?

Frazod 08-07-2001 11:34 PM

May the mook be with you!

Fat Elvis 08-07-2001 11:35 PM

G'night fellow mooks....

keg in kc 08-07-2001 11:36 PM

No, Otter, I haven't had a visit with Jack for a while now.

I'm actually making myself some scrambled eggs right now and listening to physicist Michio Kaku on the Art Bell Radio show. Fascinating stuff.

Abba-Dabba 08-07-2001 11:36 PM

Good Morning Fellow Mooks!

DaMook 08-07-2001 11:40 PM

suddenly all the mooks come out of the woodwork

A bit of an insomniac myself

Phobia 08-07-2001 11:51 PM

Mook off!

Rausch 08-07-2001 11:54 PM

Keg In KC,

Not sure if you're old enough for this one or not, but remember "Captian Jack" by Billy Joel?

Use to set that puppy on repeat and slam down a sixer before going out back in high school...hmmmmmmmmmmm.........Billy Joel and beer.....

:D

Rausch 08-07-2001 11:55 PM

Wait...that didn't come out right, sounds really bad....

Best music was made BEFORE MTV....Let's put it that way....

Now that smells like a poll, 'eh?

keg in kc 08-07-2001 11:57 PM

My personal favorite:

get your hands on a copy of Gustav Holst's The Planets and either take a shot or drink a beer for each movement (there are 7 movements, a total of about 50 minutes).

It's called "doin' the planets"...

Good fun!

Rausch 08-08-2001 12:00 AM

Gustav Holst's?

Sophistication and getting p****d faced drunk just somehow don't go together....

"I drink, therefore I write...."

What Eddy Poe WOULD HAVE said if we had cnn back then....:D

keg in kc 08-08-2001 12:03 AM

The Planets is one of the few "classical" works that just about anyone can listen to, Brad.

Actually, John Williams "borrowed" (cough) a lot of it for his Star Wars soundtracks.

It's good if you're trying to get yourself into what I like to refer to as the "writing buzz". :)

Rausch 08-08-2001 01:05 AM

I was under the impression that this was classical music...

Is it country, classic, classical, ????

Always willing to give new music a try...

keg in kc 08-08-2001 01:14 AM

Well "classical" is a loose term to throw around, but I guess it fits. It's orchestral music.

You have to remember I'm a "classically"-trained musician and composter...

"composter" - if that isn't a classic freudian slip I don't know what is :D

Rausch 08-08-2001 01:31 AM

Fair enough....I'll look it up....

I write myslef, and while I'd love to be able to compose or even PLAY an instrument, i can't....

My mother thought music was "an expensive hobby" and dad thought I'd "turn bundle of sticks" if I learned to play an instrument...

My guitar is almost payed off at the local pawn shop, my dad has yet to get a christmass card...:D
