Sorry, another MMA thread. :D

Gotta root for Amir. The guy had an 0-0 record coming in... he's been amazing. Classy, too.

I also would mind seeing Diego Sanchez lose. He's always annoyed me.

One of the prelims is Matt Brown vs. Matt Arroyo. I hope we get to see it. Sounds like a great matchup.

Re-watching the final episode... I feel bad for Jesse Taylor. At least Dana told him, "Go home and get your ****in' life together, and call me in a few months."

I'm sure we'll see him back. The dude got a hell of a harsh lesson. Hopefully he'll take it to heart.

What happened?

He got drunked up after the show wrapped... kicked out the window of a limo he was riding in... then caused a disturbance in a Station Casino. (Owned by the Fertitas, who own ZUFFA and the UFC)

According to Dana, he was "terrorizing the guests", and Dana had it all on security tapes. When security approached him, he pulled the old, "Do you know who I am??? I'm a UFC fighter!" bit. Dana kicked him out of the finale, and the UFC.

Apparently he and a few other fighters stayed in Vegas for a night of partying after the show wrapped. JT Money clearly can't handle his liquor.

Starting now... Spike TV... channel 38 on Time Warner in KC.

First fight... Matt Riddle vs Dante Rivera

I figure Chipper takes it. Dante's probably the more polished fighter, but Riddle's young and has some crazy power. (as seen when he broke that poor guy's jaw)

I'm delayed because it's recording. Riddle looks big.

He does. He looks like he added about 30 lb's of muscle.

I'll avoid posting any spoilers, since some of you guys are delayed.

I'm sure I'll catch up in a little bit. I'm skipping the commercials.

I'm glad Riddle didn't bust Dante's balls about the retirement thing. He's probably not in the mood to hear it.

Riddle looks good. Glad to see him come away with a win.

Spencer Fisher vs. Jeremy Stephens up next.

Don't really have a rooting interest in this one, although I'm much more familiar with Fisher.

Rooting for a good fight, I guess.

What weight class is this?

155, lightweight I think.

Damn... close at the end. I think Fisher still wins by decision.

I was surprised that they went to the ground so much. The last fight I watched with Fisher they stood up almost the whole time.

I'm annoyed by the decisions... I want time to see that Brown vs. Arroyo fight.

Do you know how many fights are on the card? Will they show all of them?

Three more on the main card... they'll show all of them, even if the show runs long.

They'll fit the best prelim fights in if time permits.

Gotta root against Diego... that guy bugs me. Gotta root for the marine.

Forrest and Rampage both kick ass. I'm having a hard time deciding who to root for...

I'd like to see Forrest. I like to see the champ get knocked off.

Yeah... and honestly, Forrest has gotta be the underdog.

Makes it a little easier. Still, I really like both guys.

It seems a little unfair that he has to fight a guy he just beat, to win it all.

Wow, Grove used Tanner as a punching bag most of the fight. Tanner needs to retire again.

If either of them are ever going to be any good, it's years and years down the road.

TUF may have run its course; they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel now. I mean, seriously, a guy with *zero* professional fights wins the whole thing? It's a great story, in pro wrestling terms, but realistically speaking, he wouldn't have been on the show in the past, much less have had a chance in hell of winning it. Experienced, halfway-trained fighters would absolutely murder anybody on this year's show.

There were actually fighters that were trained and had some experience on this years show, so your theory is not correct.

He reminded me of Rod (Andy Samberg) from Hot Rod.

Just like the last time, he tapped too early. Only this time, he knew it and tried to stop. Dude has no composure at all. He is scared. That was crazy.

once again, I am not saying that he could not have had his arm broken, but once again he was on his feet! Seriously, he was freaking standing up. He could have used gravity and downforce to disrupt the submission. Instead, he paniced.

In the post fight interviews, he admitted that he tapped. he was just upset with himself.

There were a few with limited experience, but I don't really know that any of them that had any kind of legitimate MMA training. At the end of it all, I think Riddle is the only one with a legitimate future.

That is yet to be seen. To me, most of this years guys were pretty green and with some good solid training guys like Amir, CB, JT (nothing but a wrestling brute right now...aka Matt Hamil) and maybe even Matt Brown could be pretty good. Maybe not CHAMPS but who knows, they could probably make a decent living at it. I think the sky is the limit for Amir and CB but it will just depend on how dedicated they are. Look at Kendall Grove last night...THAT was not the same KG that was on TUF a few years ago. He looked sharp but it took some time for him to get to that point.

It's not a thoery, it's an opinion. And that opinion is that they may have run out of suitable up-and-coming talent after 6 (and now 7...) seasons of the show, so they're having to scrape the bottom of the barrel now. They did the best they could beefing the fighters up with post-production magic, but I think the series might have run its course. It was fun while it lasted, and maybe if they keep screwing around with the format the way they did early this season, they can keep it going a little longer.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I hope they find a hidden trove of future contenders under a rock somewhere, because I enjoy watching.
