Years back, before I was of legal drinking age, a friend and I were coming back from a 3 or 4 hour show at the Beaumont when I got pulled over. Because of the pitch of the shoulder, I couldn't see anything in my driver side mirror. I did see an officer approach the passenger side, so I started to talk to him when my friend told me that another cop had been tapping his flashlight on my window. The cop thought I was drunk because of how long it took me to understand what he was saying, and after I explained we were coming back from the Beaumont, he let me go. |

I hope Lopez does something soon. I really like his drumming.

I've very familiar with both bands (and both songs you mentioned) but I don't see a comparison in the two songs. |

I'm planning on having hearing problems come Sunday. |
This is most excellent news.
|
I'm not an Opeth fan, but I dig High On Fire. I'm more looking forward to the Origin and Abysmal Dawn show at The Jackpot on Aug. 9th.

Tickets go on sale this Saturday.

In non rated news.
Darkest Hour, Arsis, Winds of Plague, Light This City, as well as others at the Beaumont Club on 07/31. Old school death metal fans: Obituary with Unleashed at the Beaumont on 10/01. I believe locals Diskreet from Topeka will be playing both shows as well. |

Diskreet goes on at 5 pm. Menace to sobriety begins around 3 pm in the neighborhood. |

I'm looking forward to seeing Arsonists Get all the Girls, Winds of Plague, and Parkway Drive... I'm pissed because As Blood Runs Black didn't get on the bill. |
Anyone else going?

I'll be in an Engorged shirt, says Werewolf Millitia on the back. Red hat. Anyone down there tap me on the shoulder, I'll buy you a beer, soda... \m/

Stick to your Guns sounded good but their set being cut short from some "accident" in the crowd put a stop to that.. AGATG sounded liked shit - no sound check. Abigal Williams were having band problems (and sound problems) Winds of Plague were okay Highlight of the night was Parkway Drive. I had never heard the Lawrence band "Hester Prynn" - they were pretty ****ing brutal. I definitely enjoyed them. I believe they were the first band to play outside by the beach club yesterday. |
