Way to take the high road, k"u"
Sorry if repost, but...
Damn! k"u" does have the classiest fans! as per the KC Star- "Henn said KU doesn’t want to be embarrassed by making fun of opponents, diseases like anorexia or a Joe-College shirt that made fun of slavery. Hold it … KU is playing the race card? The shirt in question pokes fun at MU having to pick cotton in the lowly Cotton Bowl while KU got to play in the more prestigious Orange Bowl. The front of the shirt reads “Hawk Football.” The back reads, “Missouri, it’s your turn to pick cotton (Nice bowl game).” In a perfect world, future KU T-shirts should adhere to higher standards, Henn argued, “that we don’t bash our rivals, that we don’t use profanity, that we don’t make fun of diseases.” Asked afterward if KU wanted to stifle free speech, Marchiony responded, “Well, we believe in free speech — unless it crosses the line.” http://www.kansascity.com/entertainm...ry/701653.html |
Er uh?

This board really sucks ass sometimes with all of the MU/KU bullshit. It's too bad the Chiefs sucks so bad that we don't have much else to talk about on here.

You were wrong. This is stupid. |
One MU/KU smackfest a week is enough during the off season, and we just had one last night.
|
Umm..... KU is taking legal action to prevent shirts like this from being produced and associated with KU.

Meanwhile, those late to the game try to find the hook. Might want to check your lip, Mizzou 8451... |

come on bro...relax. Mu and KU have both made stupid shirts. Whether the university makes them or not or wants to be associated with it, the person buying the shirt is automatically representing the university. My thread was good natured fun...nothing more. |

It gets a little tense around here. Funny thing is, from my experience at the game last season, fans on both sides were much more laid back. I enjoy the back and forth ribbing... the hateful nasty bullshit... not so much. |

I still like my Public Enemy, NWA, Ghetto Boys, Too Short, and a few spare singles from the late 80's-early 90's. |
I understand people from Kansas like basketball.
Just as I understand that people from third world countries like soccer. |

Girls, Girls, lets add some perspective to this whole thing.
KU football has been a proud tradition since what, last September? KU Basketball is superior to 95% of all the other schools for a long time now. They always finish well and it's really the only thing people in that miserable state have to root for. MU Football has beeen bad for a long time but they always had their fan base. MU Basketball is hot and cold but they do ok. I guess what I'm really getting around to is that, NEBRASKA SUCKS! Let's hate them while the hatin's good. Sooner or later, they will be good again. |

That'll do it...:thumb: Bill Calahan is the best thing to ever happen to this state IMHO. Now that NU Fans have had a little bit of the old "Humble Pie" they are starting to realize that there are more things in life then the goddamn Cornhuskers. I understand that old Jethro out in Valentine NE may be a little depressed about the program as of late, it's all they have out that way. But there's no excuse for that type of crap in the Metro area. I'd go to a fricken grocery store and the game would be on. Everyone in the office would always wear red on Fridays. If you chose not to wear red, you had to wear your normal business atire. One day a guy wore a Colorado jersey on Friday, he was sent home early. Shit like that drives me insane. Suckers Husk and Vise Versa. |

But, I work for a company that's so diverse, it's actually hard to find people that want to talk college football or basketball. I actually hear more soccer talk than Cornhusker talk..... Not sure if that's good or bad. :hmmm: Quote:

You KU guys need to post pics of your NC Women's Golf Program. Any Natalie Gulbis or Paula Creamer lookalikes?

Soccer is boring to me, but I'd at least qualify it as a sport. The thing I don't understand is why you play 100 minutes so you can have a goal-kicking contest at the end. One hundred percent of the games I've ever watched have ended in penalty kicks. Golf, Horse Racing, and WSoP are the three that annoy me.... Golf really annoys me because it's boring as hell and not a sport, but it's also popular so it drives the coverage up to intolerable levels. Sorry, but Tiger Woods isn't an athlete. He hits a ball with a stick and then walks after it. Athletes play golf in the offseason so they can relax outside. [/rant] :) |

It's annoying when CBB turns into that, and it's why I hate guys like Tyler Hansbrough who try to turn games into a free throw shooting and flopping contests, but it doesn't happen anywhere close to 90% of the time, IMO. Even if it did happen that often, at least the first 37 minutes were worth watching. |

Good lord, this went from a game I never heard of to the only thing people will play, nearly overnight. I was playing cards with my neighbor and some of his yuppie friends; after an hour and a half of Texas Hold'em I suggested we try dealer's choice - perhaps some 7 card stud, or draw, or low hole wild, fuck, ANYTHING DIFFERENT, at least for a few hands. They looked at me like I'd just shit in the middle of the table. :shake: |

I did NOT watch basketball as a kid. EVER. At any level. Never liked it; never played it. Really. I lived in CHICAGO during the 90s. Michael Jordan and six championships couldn't give me anything more than a lukewarm interest in the sport (I did go to a couple of games, though, because nobody turned down Bulls tickets back then). Seriously. I just don't care for it. |
