Yeah, right. Like that is going to happen...... NOT

blueballs 07-21-2008 10:54 AM

if they all get signed before camp
it will go down as official
Herm and or Clark has taken control

TRR 07-21-2008 10:54 AM

I feel like we may have something special in Jamaal Charles. He was very pleasant to watch at Texas, and has that extra gear that most RB's don't even in the NFL.

RealSNR 07-21-2008 10:56 AM

I wonder how negotiations with Merritt are going

CARL: So Mike, you missed minicamp due to injury, you were unranked on everybody's big boards, and you were drafted in the same class as Cottam, who is our actual blocking TE in this lineup. Furthermore, behind him we have Michael Allan, who made the team as a 7th round TE LAST year and figures to be our third guy. Lastly, we have 12 rookies to sign this year including two first rounders, both of which we hope to wrap up with longterm agreements high-paying agreements so that they can anchor the future of this team on both sides of the ball. I think it's clear what kind of contract you deserve.

MERRITT: **** you. I want 5 mill up front.

rambleonthruthefog 07-21-2008 10:56 AM

dorsey, albert, flowers, and who else is left?

Mecca 07-21-2008 10:56 AM

Better hope Gholston signs quickly because the Chiefs are going to wait for him, signing Dorsey first likely means offering him more than they want....if Gholston gets alot then the Chiefs are really going to haggle.

Buehler445 07-21-2008 10:57 AM

Wonder what the holdup is with Merritt? Surely he isn't trying to pull. a powerplay. He's from the 7th round for ****'s sake. Get Albert signed NOW!! Posted via Mobile Device

Would it be a bad thing if he would end up like the Oritz jersey started out in the new Yankee stadium??

Actually no. Carl Peterson's many sins does not include a history of not signing draft picks in time. Oh, there's a couple of cases, but a couple of cases his history does not make. People hate him here so much they pin everything on him, even things like drafting Blackledge.

The last time they had a pick this high the guy wasn't signed until the season had already started....

blueballs 07-21-2008 11:06 AM

I have heard said
peterson gets paid well for taking the heat off the Hunts

BigChiefFan 07-21-2008 11:15 AM

The Chiefs always say Carl Peterson signed this guy or that guy...Carl is firmly entrenched in his position. Nothing has changed except the philosophy of going younger.

dirk digler 07-21-2008 11:18 AM

That is great news but we need Dorsey and Alberts signed in 3 days so Carl better hurry the **** up

It doesn't really matter if the rest are signed tomorrow or a 3 weeks from now.

Albert is more important to get signed at the moment since he has the larger learning curve. Get him signed Carl!!

The team is rebuilding. Whether they sign today or August 7th isn't going to cost the Chiefs a chance at a playoff spot.

But it certainly will cost that player developmental time.

Didn't seem to hold Dwayne Bowe back...

I'm much more concerned with Albert being in on time than Dorsey.

Continuity is extremely important on the OL - and we're asking him to play a new position. He needs all the reps next to Waters he can get.

ct 07-21-2008 03:06 PM

Albert is much more important to get in sooner than Dorsey. Even Flowers I'm more wanting in on time than Dorsey. Glenn Dorsey is, imo, by far the most ready to plug and play right now.

I totally agree, Mr. ct. Assuming we get everyone signed in a reasonable time frame, it should be a very interesting year for Chiefs fans. Young legs can wreak havoc in the NFL if they're coached properly.

Hermoine has a heck of a job in front of him.

HELL NO!!!! Arrowhead would be cursed until somebody removed his worthless bones from the concrete. Send his ass to Oakland and bury his ass below their 50 yard line.

I have 0 faith he will have them in on time. If he does, I will get off his ass.

Herm, has no control over contract negotiations. It is all Carl. That said, we'll see Dorsey around the start of the season.....maybe.

I think it's easier to come in and have success at Wide Receiver as a Rookie.
Especially in a simplified offense devoid of WR talent.
