Wow, the Raiders must have looked AWFUL

How the Chiefs could be a 4.5 point favorite over ANY team is beyond me, but the market has spoken, and concluded the Raiders are indeed that bad.

It figures the only time the whole season that the Chiefs will be favored to win is against the Raiders. (I predict we will be an underdog at home against Miami. Parcells will get that thing turned around by the end of the season; Herm/Peterson won't.)

Mr. Arrowhead 09-09-2008 11:36 AM

the raiders were worse than bad

Pablo 09-09-2008 11:36 AM

Haha...and yeah...they looked awful. Maybe if D-Bowe gets over his dropsies he could torch Hall all game long.

StcChief 09-09-2008 11:37 AM

It may work down to 3 by Sunday...depends on Injury report, us Signing a QB etc.

JBucc 09-09-2008 11:37 AM

Raiders looked like a dysfunctional high school team.

OnTheWarpath15 09-09-2008 11:38 AM

You get 3 just for being the home team.

And I bet it's down to that by kickoff...

I know that, but how often is a team who has lost 10 in a row a 4.5 point favorite?

I figured this game would be even...

No way are we that much better than the raiders.....

didnt we get beat at HOME last year against them and use 2 timeouts on one review?

It'll be a 3 point spread before kickoff.

Which means it's a toss-up.

Mr. Arrowhead 09-09-2008 11:45 AM

we will beat them by at least 2 TD's guanteed

That's assuming our offense can score two whole TD's.

That's quite the task ya know.

If I bet this game between the two worst teams in the league, I'd have to take the Raiders at +170 on the money line -- too much value there against a team who has lost 10 in a row and is coached by Herm Edwards.

By the way, the total is 35, which is extremely low for an NFL game.

sedated 09-09-2008 11:51 AM

I'm surprised its not more.

the Raiders take the early prize for worst team in the NFL.

(playing on the road, after a late Monday night game, where they got thoroughly ass-raped on both sides of the ball)

OctoberFart 09-09-2008 11:52 AM

The better's think the queeefs are only 1.5 pts better than the queeefs since the home automatically recieves 3 pts.

It's a two year plan for the Chiefs - no quick fixes through free-agency. There's no reason to expect that the Chiefs could be "turned around" with one off-season.

They're finally doing it the right way.

Is the Dolphins make-over any less extreme than Chiefs? [i.e., which team's roster turnover is larger? I don't know.]

The Dolphins have 26 new players to the Chiefs 20. The Broncos also have 20 new players.

You're wondering why we're favored.

Pretty simple.

The Chiefs played god's gift to football down to the wire on the road while the Faders lost by 27 on their home field to a team that finished 7-9 last year.

And yet we still couldnt beat their backup, with satans gift to football....

Buck 09-09-2008 01:03 PM

You think thats impressive, the Chargers are 2.5 point favorites IN DENVER!!!

ARE THE ODDSMAKERS BLIND???

Braincase 09-09-2008 01:07 PM

I understand our first field goal, but how do you get half of a field goal?

CoMoChief 09-09-2008 01:32 PM

They beat us last year and the Raiders are better this season than last.

I wouldnt exactly chalk this one up as a win.

Molitoth 09-09-2008 01:48 PM

The Raiders played pathetic, and with Kiffen and Al Davis not getting along I know that organization is going to implode this year.

On the other hand Cutler looked downright scary good.

Are you surprised? When was the last time Denver even had a competitive game against SD?

Torch requires speed..

Red Dawg 09-09-2008 02:00 PM

If we don't beat them at home after the way they looked and us needing to win badly then we really suck worse than ever. No excuse for us not to win this game. Our rooks are playing in their first home game and should be beyond pumped! This may be the only time this season the crowd will be really pumped.

It's the only game I get to attend so they better win.

In 06 they were both close games.

However, I would not be surprised if Denver was confident enough to beat the Chargers.

Home field advantage is usually good for 6 points, so I am just really surprised that the Chargers are favored.

macdawg 09-09-2008 05:22 PM

I am not highly confident we will go 2-0 against the Raiders. They have one of the best running attacks, we have one of the worst.

Russell needs to improve and speed up his decision making but has all the talent in the world and the Raiders line can't pass block at all.

If he progresses, which he should over the next year or so a lot, and the line can get a little better, they will be a team because their defense is stacked with talent.

Raiders have been a joke for years, and it sounds like most of you still think they are a joke, which I disagree with.

Herm is quickly seeing that his coaching legacy is on par with the raiders...

I'd be curious to compare the 2005 Chiefs roster to the 2008 Chiefs roster, see what kind of change went on between 2006 and now. Don't have time for it, maybe someone else does.
