Honestly, how often does Larry get shut down for less that a yard? The percentages are on our side. We have nothing to really lose this season by going for it and confidence to gain.

Deberg_1990 09-09-2008 11:57 AM

Your assuming we will see lots of 4th and shorts??

I dont remember too many the other day?

Hammock Parties 09-09-2008 11:57 AM

That's just dumb.

triple 09-09-2008 11:59 AM

remember when he punched it in when we needed to tie the game Sunday? me either.

take out the one good run and he had 21 carries for 52 yards. a robust 2.5 yards per carry

How often does larry get stopped at a yard or less? Uhhm... geee... judging from sunday I'd say about a third of the time.

Reerun_KC 09-09-2008 12:01 PM

How often do we run it up the centers ass for positive yards a game?

We should always punt on 4th and 1 unless in FG range...

OnTheWarpath15 09-09-2008 12:02 PM

I can't remember the last time we converted a 4th-and-1...

Demonpenz 09-09-2008 12:07 PM

I tend to agree. Larry is such a power back. He always gets those tough yards

Denver, Thanksgiving night at Arrowhead?

triple 09-09-2008 12:14 PM

i cant remember the last time we won a game, which will not be a streak that ends if we go for it on fourth down every time

sedated 09-09-2008 12:15 PM

considering how the Patriots game ended, this is a stupid fucking thread

Buehler445 09-09-2008 12:16 PM

I distinctly remember LOSING TO THE FADE on just such a play...

No its not. Most times it's converted.

If this team can't gain 1 ****in yard they have no right to play.

No it was the year before. I thought we beat the shit out of DEN on that Thanksgiving night game?

You might be right.

I know I was there, and it was dark, so either game is a possibility. The year before was that 3:15 start when it was 13 degrees at kickoff...

Hammock Parties 09-09-2008 12:22 PM

The 4th and 1 was 2005...Vermeil challenged, Taco cried, Ryan Sims celebrated....that was back when we threw on first down.

Yep. You're right.

Mr. Plow 09-09-2008 01:10 PM

If I were an offensive lineman for the Chiefs, I would ask......no........DEMAND that LJ do something special for me after the season. A trip....a car....a night out at the strip club.... For how much LJ wants to shove his head up their ass, it really should be considered rape. A courtesy gift is highly appropriate in that situation.

We converted one on Sunday. Larry went up the middle and gained about 2-3 yards.

Oops, I guess those were 3rd and 1s. We punted both times on 4th and 1. Larry converted both times he was given the ball on 3rd and 1.

What if we're on our 21 yard line? Can we still punt?

How is this nuts? LJ gets hard yards every time he carries the ball. Not much yesterday but even with the not much how many times did he not get a yard? The only way LJ doesn't get a yard is if he gets hit before the line of scrimmage.

We have nothing to lose by playing this way the rest of the season. No wins since last October!!!! When you need a win as badly as us, why the hell not do it? It would work 8 out of 10 times with LJ.

We didn't go on 4 and 1 at all.

JohnnyV13 09-09-2008 01:53 PM

A number of years ago. a mathmatician published a paper suggesting NFL teams were not maximizing their winning chances b/c they didn't go for it on 4th down enough.

Yes we can punt from the 21 but not the 22.

I'm just saying we need to do something extreme to end this drought of winning

Radar Chief 09-09-2008 01:56 PM

Just don't do stupid things.
