Actually Coffman does look very impressive. Talk about desire to get that ball and get it down the field no matter what... you gotta love that.

Awesome.

Just a side question. It seems like about 9 out of 10 times that someone links a youtube movie it comes up as a long address that will not link. It always looks something like this

Do I have something set up wrong in my browser?

Molitoth 09-10-2008 02:19 PM

That play against Illinois last week was sick.

bogey 09-10-2008 02:29 PM

Wow, very impressive. He already looks like a pro.

His hurdle against CU last year was just as cool, if not better. (It's in the 2nd video).

Well, the "dotting-the-i" play in the back of the endzone against CU might just be the best.

Sure-Oz 09-10-2008 02:34 PM

We need to get him as our future white gonzo

beavis 09-10-2008 02:35 PM

It's funny you post this. I was at the game in St. Louis when he did that jump move he always does. I turned to my dad and said "someone is going to catch him doing that one day and clean his clock".

Perhaps, but it's not likely to get him injured any more than any other tackle.

Tacklers get to pick their poison: Go high and get rolled or go low and get clowned. He's an incredible player.

Demonpenz 09-10-2008 02:39 PM

is his clock dirty?

teedubya 09-10-2008 02:44 PM

That jump was insane. That certainly helped the draft stock out a bit, i would say.

Holy shit.

teedubya 09-10-2008 02:47 PM

After watching that second video, it is my wish that he would have entered the 2008 draft, instead of coming back for this season.

Very impressive.

His best play of the year went down as incomplete.

I think it was the CU game. He made a great leaping grab in the corner of the endzone, planted on his toe keeping his heel over raised off the ground out of bounds. After establishing possession and keeping his heel up, he was knocked out of bounds. Officials called it incomplete.

It was an incredible display of body control. Try jumping up in the air, landing on one foot and not touching the ground with your heel, now try to do it while catching a football (while weighing 225). Too bad the stripes screwed him out of the TD.

it was at home against Nebraska last year. Phenominal catch, and it was ruled out of bounds, but it was a catch. Coffman is a freak, the best TE in the nation. I was shocked when Herbstreit didnt even have him in his top 5.

I disagree. Hanging out in mid-air with no way to protect yourself is just asking to get drilled.

But let me be clear, I'm a huge Mizzou fan and a huge Coffman fan. So don't take this as any kind of indictment of him.

He's such a sick player. The only knock anyone can have against him is that he rarely lines up as a TE, so he doesn't get as much experience staying in and blocking. Other than that, he's an Antonio Gates-type of TE that can be a weapon in the NFL.

It sucks he'll be gone after this year - hopefully Jones or Kemp can take his place.

It'll be Jones and Egnew. Egnew is a WR this year because of depth, but Pinkel said he would move back to TE next year. Kemp will be a WR, and had a nice catch and run against SEMO last week. Looks like a Justin Gage clone.

Midway Chief 09-10-2008 08:58 PM

Here is the catch vs. NU. That is a touchdown.
