It's only manly if he did it with his bare hands. Or his teeth.

Bullshit.

I've seen those costumes for sale down at the local Halloween store.

From your article...that deer is easily taller than that guy when it stands up. So, unless that guy was an extra for Lord of the Rings, fake.

Ummm...the blades of grass are as tall as the ear in that pic. I'm definitely smelling BS.

Fish 09-25-2008 09:20 PM

Why does the guy need a 7' tall bipod?

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-25-2008 09:21 PM

What kind of sick **** do you have to be to take a picture of a ****ing heart next to a decapitated deer head?

An American hunter?

The head thing is normal. The heart thing is just weird to me.

Nightfyre 09-25-2008 09:25 PM

Gee that man is awfully short relative to the blades of grass in the picture.

FAX 09-25-2008 09:27 PM

There's an ancient custom among hunters that he who gets the kill, gets the heart. You're supposed to eat it, though. The intention is to acquire the power and strength of the beast (or person) to whom the heart used to belong. There were a lot of organs that worked the same way ... the brain, the liver, etc. I am unaware, however, if the penis or the scrotum sack were included on the list. Probably not, though, since most aboriginal hunters were guys.

4 feet is pretty tall since they are most likely measuring from the shoulder. That is about the same size as a cow... they are pretty damn big... and taste good... so transitive property tells us these red deer would taste great with A1.

catfish307 09-26-2008 12:35 AM

The stag is real and I'm sure the hunter is too. But the picture is not. Stag do not get that damn big. By the looks of the terrain and watching countless hunts for these on TV, Id have to say that the hunter shot it in New Zealand? Did he have a ladder with him to get up high enough to use the bipod he's carrying? Nice pic though.

catfish307 09-26-2008 12:51 AM

How far behind the stag was the hunter standing when the picture was taken? The stag being considerably closer to the camera than the hunter will give the illusion of something being a lot bigger than it is. That's why most people that take pics of a big fish caught, will hold it way out in front of them for the picture.

Hammock Parties 09-26-2008 12:52 AM

He has no reason to fake the photo. I doubt he even has the means.

catfish307 09-26-2008 12:54 AM

Then I must call Bullshit! Sorry.

catfish307 09-26-2008 12:58 AM

Again, I'm sure the picture is real but it gives the illusion that the stag is a lot larger than it really is.

Demonpenz 09-26-2008 07:38 AM

If you look at it he has his arms up like he is holding the antlers, but he is like 30 feet back you don't see his fingers wrapped around the antlers or anything

If that was the case either he or the deer would be out of focus. The guy has been photoshopped in.

Otter 09-26-2008 07:56 AM

That thing couldn't be more fake if a couple of Trojans climbed out and unlocked everyone's door in town.

Judging by the size ratio you could fit a few of them in there too.

It has to be the right distance. In 1991 when we went to disney world they had this little station (free) you put your camera in and it had a little space shuttle up close to the camera and you stood on the X and it made it look like you were at the kennedy center or wherever they launch shuttles at

Demonpenz 09-26-2008 08:46 AM

I don't know how you could google that haha but yeah I went to disney world in like 91 and they had the same trick already set up for you and me and the shuttle were both in focus

You know very little about photography.

Google F-Stop settings and depth of field.

I agree that this is a real photo, but the guy is obviously standing several feet behind the deer.

I got it from an e-mail. I know the guy. He went hunting in Africa with my father last year and recently went hunting in New Zealand. That's where he shot that King Kong Deer.

InChiefsHeaven 09-26-2008 04:22 PM

Here's some info on the Red Deer:
http://animals.howstuffworks.com/mam...-deer-info.htm

This thing would have been world wide news if it was real...it's bigger than a horse...these deer don't get that big.

allen_kcCard 09-26-2008 05:42 PM

Damn....that deer is HUGE!!!!!

It is SOOOOO big that he had to use a bipod that is almost 2 feet taller than normal!!! He used a step stool to even be able to balance the gun on it.

Not pictured, is the gun he used, but let me tell you, it is 250 pounds, 12 feet long, and shoots 75 mm howitzer shells.

Trust me, I know the guy.

KcMizzou 09-26-2008 05:48 PM

LMAO

Yeah...

bogey 09-26-2008 05:49 PM

Haven't read the thread yet. But it's obvious the guy is standing way back from the animal and spreading his arms to make it appear he's holding the horns.

okay enough yeps

allen_kcCard 09-26-2008 05:53 PM

The antlers of the deer would make its head fall off to the side, I think the bipod is there to brace it up so that he could stand back. It would only take a few steps to change the perspective that much.

If he was holding the antlers up, he would have his hands open and around a horn, not closed into a fist on the side that the head would be trying to tilt to.

Dude, I work at Cabela's. If someone shot this animal, people in my building would be clamoring to get a look at it and buy the skin and rack.
