RIP Paul Newman

Died yesterday per Fox News. His spokesman just announced the news to the media. :(

I wanted to add that my absolute favorite thing about Paul Newman was relationship with his wife whom he considered steak. They stayed together many years and seemed to be soulmates.

I loved their story.

Hasn't he died 3 or 4 times in the past couple months?

PhillyChiefFan 09-27-2008 08:05 AM

No, that would be John Goodman.

Huffman83 09-27-2008 08:15 AM

What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

Deberg_1990 09-27-2008 08:17 AM

Yea, there have been rumours out there for about the past 6 months to a year that he was dying.

RIP Newman. You were one of the greatest.

I recently watched " The Color of Money" on HDNet. Great movie and reminded me just how great he was.

milkman 09-27-2008 08:19 AM

Chiefs_Mike_Topeka 09-27-2008 08:24 AM

One of my favorite actors.

Cool Hand Luke is still one of my favorite movies.

He was awesome in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

I also was always impressed with his charitable efforts by donating all the profits of his "Newman's Own" food lines to charity.

RIP to a great man.

Newman's Own has grown into a powerful and lasting expression of Paul Newman's generosity. The Company has generated over $250 million in proceeds that have been donated by Paul Newman and the Newman's Own Foundation to thousands of charities worldwide. Particularly close to his heart were the Hole in the Wall Camps, now the leading global family of camps for children with life-threatening illnesses, which Paul started over 20 years ago.

Dude, I'm the same age as you and I've seen all of the movies mentioned in this thread. You shouldn't have such a myopic view of cinema. If you dismiss anything made before Star Wars as old and not worth seeing, you're missing out on about a half century of great films.

But yeah, if you haven't seen "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" yet, go watch it as soon as possible. I think it's my favorite Newman movie, followed closely by "The Sting."

I don't. I just don't watch a lot of old movies for some reason. Probably because I have no friends.

No, but you spend all your time on football message boards. so not seeing a great movie doesn't surprise me. and for a young guy that should be embarrassing and humiliating. but not for Clayton Wendler, star reporter for WPI.

Step away from making videos and the photoshopping and enlighten that little peanut you have upstairs. before it's too late. well, it might be too late, but whatever.
