Portis says with Pacman situation blown out of proportion
hahah
Wasnt this the guy who Sympathized with Vick too? "I really think that situation man probably was blown out of proportion, I really do," Portis said of the Pacman fight. "And I think it might have just been somebody watching and seen the altercation and it wasn't nothing that couldn't be handled amongst men, you know? Bodyguard or no bodyguard, if you're around somebody constantly, tempers gonna flare. As men you exchange words. ... "And I think with Pacman, to come back, to really have this opportunity was a golden opportunity for him, and all of the sudden it's been taken away by the outside world. And now you're under such a tight microscope that you can't fall, or you can't have a disagreement with a grown man. You know, I could see if it was pistol play or if he strangled him or choked him out while he was driving, but you know, if it's man-to-man and we bump chests and push each other, you know, I don't think that's an altercation worth taking football away from him. But, you know, wrong place wrong time is all I can say." http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcs...pacman_su.html |
Portis = Retarted moran

In case anyone wondered why Denver would trade away a RB who would have been a perennial 2000 yard threat in their run system, here you go.
|
Portis has to realize this is 2008 everything is going to be blown out of proportion.
And vail Portis has been nothing but a positive for Washington. |
Does Portis have a college degree?

I once fought Phobia when he was hired to be my bodyguard.
It was really no biggie though. We are still friends these days. |
What Portis has to say makes a lot of sense.
I can't defend Pacman's earlier troubles that put him squarely underneath a microscope (he made his bed), but I can certainly see this as a bit harsh given all we know. |
It wasn't about the fight. It was about alcohol being involved, which is a violation of his probation.

But has it been determined that he did in fact violate his probation? |
Portis also said the Michael Vick dogfighting case wasn't anyone's business but his own.
But....Portis comes from the U, where they teach their players how to become ****ing cracked up thugged out n******. |

Why was the Matt Jones cocaine incident put on page 12 of the sports section?? I will agree that the media tends to blow things up when its a black athlete. UNfortunately, thats how the media operates these days. Especially when its a huge "Lightening Rod" like Pacman. |

Just a guess though. |

My point was simply that if Goodell is going to defer to the conditions of Jones' probation... He should wait to suspend him after it has been determined that he did in fact violate his probation. |
Quote:
Portis learned a lesson: no one is above getting moved in the NFL if you cross your coach. |
Quote:
Sounds like the Cowgirls have real issues and apparently they were NOT real clear with him on what he could/could not do.... |
Quote:
Its very clear that Pacman can't stay out of trouble. His ass should be in jail. People seem to forget that he was involved in a ****ing shooting where a guy almost lost his life. |

If you fail to live up to your responsibilities you lose priveleges. Our children are taught this from a very young age. Clearly PacMan doesn't quite grasp the concept or he just doesn't care. |
Quote:
Or Clinton Portis? Or like a half-dozen other U alumns who've never been in trouble? |

The guy comes out of the ghetto and its one of those instances where you can take Pacman out of the hood.......but you cant take the hood out of pacman. |

Roger Goodell's reinstatement stipulated that he obey all three conditions of his probation, yes? It has not been determined that he violated his probation, yes? Those are facts sir. Dispute them if you'd like, but you'd only be calling your own credibility into question. |

Police only said that they believed alcohol may have been involved. |

There is mention of Jones and aclohol consumption on the police report. |

Shanny is coach lord and master and Portis found out who stays and who goes real quick. |
Quote:
Goodell determines the terms of his NFL probation. Playing in the NFL is a privelege and PacMan agrees to comply with the terms set forth by the league in exchange for the privelege of membership. The grown man is supposed to keep himself from drinking. The bodyguards are there to save him from himself when possible and to shield him from the media and public eye when he ****s up. |
Quote:
If Goodell's going to defer to the terms of his probation... Jones should only be suspended AFTER his PO determines that he's violated his probation. Quote:
I just looked at the report and saw nothing at all about alcohol being involved. |
Quote:
Nobody needs to prove PacMan was drinking. If the appearance of impropriety is a condition upon which the NFL chooses to act then it is free to do so. In the case of moral terpitude, etc. the NFL is free to act. The comish sets his own terms and conditions and metes out his own justice. This is how it goes when you accept money from someone in exchange for services rendered: you are expected to live up to the terms to which you agree. Where do you people come up with this "oh if the police and courts can't prove he broke a law his employer can't take action"? |

Say, why don't you leave the heavy thinking to the other posters? You never contribute anything. |
CoMo,
FWIW, you can call Pacman a scumbag, a ****tard, a misanthrope. You can do what I did and use hyperbole to say that he should be drawn and quartered on the Texas Star, but it never ceases to amaze me how many people will use the distance of the Internet as well as transgressions like this to blurt out "n*****". Why don't you go down to the Field House and say that the next time you see someone who looks "ghetto"? |
Quote:
Your just another dumb ****** |
Quote:
I don't know if there were specific terms or if there was a blanket warning to the tune of "should it become public that you committed any actions to the detriment of the image of the NFL your reinstatement will be reconsidered" Goodell is fully empowered and feeling it. He may be taking the SCOTUS definition of pornography on what is a suspendable offense. |
