"He had Gay all over him."

I forget which of the TV announcers said this, but I about died when I heard it. It may be childish, but I can't help at laugh at that guy's name. The only thing that would have been better would have been if the play had somehow involved Mike Cox too.

"Gay penetrates deep into the backfield and grabs Cox for a loss of 3."

Yeah. This is nearly as bad as Mecca's obsession with a Hunt child named Mike.

Brock 11-17-2008 08:50 AM

This is hilarious and deserving of a thread.

damaticous 11-17-2008 09:25 AM

would be funny, albeit imature, to see a picture of Cox and Gay standing next to each other.

was anyone listening to Al Micheals call the Redskins seventh round safety "really good looking" last night.? He did it two or three times, I was beginning to wonder if Al was going to ask him for his number after the game.

It was funny but I fill for people and there last names mine is Dick. So I have a few stories about names.

I went to high school in Nebraska. We were at a track meet and when they announced my name over the load speaker it would get the usual chuckle. One year at the Gretna invite the announcer called out so and so up Kumm on deck and Dick in the hole. The crowd lost it. One of the underclassmen Chad Kumm just happened to be in line in front of me that day. Hilarius.

So much for the Gay-Cox combination in the hole.

I was watching some Vietnam documentary the other day, and they were interviewing some guy whose last name was Gay. That's a tough name, but then the guy started talking, and I would put the odds at about 90 percent that he was indeed gay. He was a marine at the siege of Khe San, and he was a bomb disposal guy.

Now, I don't think the term "gay" was adopted by the gay community until the 70s, but I had to ponder all of the mind-bending stereotype busting involved with a gay marine named Gay who was a bomb-disposal guy in the battle of Khe San.

I remember a few games back the announcer said something along the lines of..."that player was smothered by Mike Cox."

Could have been worse, at least his name wasn't Mike Hunt.
