We had one this week, very minor swarm of them. I didn't feel it but several people her in Cody did.

Buck 01-08-2009 10:20 PM

Yup, felt it in SD.

I am up in the 3rd story right by my bedroom window and it was shaking pretty good.

RINGLEADER 01-08-2009 10:30 PM

Now they're saying it's a 4.5.

Went from 4.9 to 5.0 to 4.5.

Considering it was felt all the way in San Diego up the coast to Malibu that's kind of surprising.

Iowanian 01-08-2009 10:31 PM

It has as much to do with the depth of the epicenter as the magnitude.

Well, thats not really true....but the depth affects how much you "feel" it.

Exactly!!!!

It's not always the "magnitude", but the type of "soil" has a lot to do with it also.

;)

Always blame the soil.

Iowanian 01-08-2009 10:42 PM

I hate big soil.

After the Northridge quake, I don't move for anything less than a 6. 5.5 is joke to me.
