Panera has a license to print money
 

Every once in a while, I go to Panera to eat lunch and get some work done on my laptop. Every time I'm there, the place is full and a continuous stream of patrons fills the aisle. It's amazing to see so much business every time I'm here. $6-7 sandwiches and coffee must be the way to go.

That place is terrible. I don't really see the attraction.

I know the guy who owns all the Iowa Stores, and yes they do print money.

I refuse to pay that much for a sandwhich.

I mean, its a sandwhich. When i want a sandwhich for lunch, ill make my own and bring it to work.

This one in CF is insane. I don't think the Waterloo location gets nearly this much business. The CF store is near campus and is full of students, profs, professionals, and mom-types all day long. Unreal.

I enjoy their salads...have a few decent sandwiches. Great broccoli + cheddar soup.

They have free Wi-fi. When my internet was out, I would go there.

That is one of their big draws. Here they are called St. Louis Bread Company, but they are the same company and they do big business.

I had to run to Panera for bagels this morning for our meeting.

I love love love Panera's Sourdough bread.

No, the Waterloo one is always packed. Every time I drive by the parking lot is completely full.

Thats where I went this morning. I almost parked in the handicapped spot.

But I believe in Karma.

Panera is decent, I don't buy anything other than bread from them anymore. And if i could find a bakery that makes a decent Ciabatta bread, I would go there instead.

Love Panera. Used to study/eat there a bunch when I was in undergrad. The ones in Lincoln, NE was always chalk full of people too.

Put a big Chiefs sticker on the rear window of your car. They won't ticket you.

Agree with others. Bread is good there.

I love the place and take my laptop in there, although the soup sometimes steams up my black rim glasses hehe

:) Novella's Soup Trolley in Independence is a much better value-their soup is the bomb!

It's $6-7 for a 'whole' sammich which is enough for 2+ meals, roughly equivalent to a footlong sub, or for a 1/2 sammich, and choice of soup or salad, and a dinner roll, fruit or chips, which is a plenty filling meal. It's really not that bad a deal considering it's really good fresh ingedients.

My consistent choice is Frontega chicken panini and greek salad, extra pepperocinis [unless the fresh mozz and tomato, or fandango, salad is in season]

Agreed. I get the soup+Sandwich (Italian Combo) and its good.

But I will say its a lil overpriced JMO though.

Still good when I have the buck and time for it.

Love their Chicken Salad Sandwich though.

And the lemonade is pretty tasty.

Your panera must be different than the 3 i've gone to in OP. I've never had their soup, but the sandwiches are huge, with tons of stuff piled on em.

Do they serve beer?
