We are not being fair to Herm

I want Herm gone; I think he deserves to be fired. I think keeping him for one more year would be a huge mistake. That said, I don’t think its right to sting him along. If we are going to fire him we should do so now. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to be in this case of limbo. Let the guy have a chance at landing another job or signing a deal with one of the networks don’t keep him and his family guessing.

Through all of this Herm been a class act. Now the Chiefs need to do the classy thing and tell him his future with this team is over.

BigChiefFan 01-16-2009 05:10 PM

$4 million says otherwise.

Just because it hasn't been made public doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

Exactly. They could have just told Herm to keep his mouth shut if he wants his $3 million.

Yep, he's getting paid either way. We took awhile to hire our GM and now he is weighing all his options before making a executive decision. Plus, I'm pretty sure during negotiations for the GM spot Clark wanted Pioli to give Herm a fair chance at finishing his contract. So Pioli is most likely keeping his word and figuring out his new team while interviewing the current staff.

Why?

Basileus777 01-16-2009 05:16 PM

I agree. Just fire him already and let him find another job somewhere.

kstater 01-16-2009 05:16 PM

Who the **** cares if it's fair? He should be happy to be still recieving a check.

greyhoodie 01-16-2009 05:16 PM

It sounds to me that Herm has neither been fired nor retained but is one of the candidates to be HC next year.

Much the same way teams often have open competition for a starting role at QB during camp.

Pasta Little Brioni 01-16-2009 05:20 PM

He's still a millionaire either way, I have no inkling to care if it's fair or not.

keg in kc 01-16-2009 05:21 PM

He gets paid either way. I don't think a week or two to process everything is going to be the end of the world for him.

blueballs 01-16-2009 05:21 PM

A Herm Fair
would have lots of clowns -wait

He has Gunther to lean on for support.

Mr. Arrowhead 01-16-2009 05:22 PM

Well Herm wasnt being fair to us, when he makes dumb ass coaching decisions

MichaelH 01-16-2009 05:25 PM

Maybe we should remember Herm's statement to the fans when he's being held stagnant.

"GET OVER IT"

blueballs 01-16-2009 05:25 PM

You know Herm bought DV's Townhouse
got to give Herm time to clean up all that game film
before showing it to the next occupant

OnTheWarpath15 01-16-2009 05:26 PM

**** him.

Clark has 3 million reasons to handle this as he see fit.

Fish 01-16-2009 05:34 PM

Part of being a coach..... to avoid that just don't lose games...

EXACTLY

Danman 01-16-2009 05:48 PM

I think Pioli's talk with Herm was more so the Chiefs could get around the Rooney Rule. New GM in place has talk (job interview) with current coach (a minority) about coaching next year and beyond (contract extension). These are all things the NFL will look at in the Rooney Rule.

BigRichard 01-16-2009 05:51 PM

He is paid up through next year right? I wonder if his contract has the clause "extra duties as assigned". Make him clean the crapper for a year.

Dr. Johnny Fever 01-16-2009 05:54 PM

I think it's perfectly fair for Scott to take the time to evaluate Herm and decide whether he wants him back as HC like he said he was going to do. WTF is not fair about that? Good lord he just got here 2 days ago. The "limbo" arguement is completely bogus because Clark said he wanted Herm back but would leave it up to the new GM. So at least up until Pioli was hired Herm had the job. The new GM just got here and isn't a complete hatchet man. He said he'd be diligent and he's being diligent. I don't understand why this is hard to understand.

And just because everyone wants to assume Scott will fire Herm doesn't mean its true.

suds79 01-16-2009 06:00 PM

Herm is going to get paid some real good jack no matter what happens.

I don't feel sorry for him one bit.

Mr. Laz 01-16-2009 06:01 PM

herm is getting a full payday to shut up and be our african american interview.

don't feel bad for him

Herm weasled his way out of New York, then threw Carl - the guy who TRADED FOR HIM - under the bus...

Herm deserves nothing but to be fired from a job he never would have had in the first place if he weren't one of Carl's incompetent cronies...

**** Herm...

Agent V 01-16-2009 06:27 PM

Didn't Herm say that the new GM is "another distraction" a couple months ago? I'd kick his ass to the curb.

****ing exactly, man. This isn't pre-school. We didn't cut herms dick off, we were willing to spend money, herm was listened to. He wasn't successful and he's still a rich man.

So now we're supposed to cover the hiring process in foam padding because he bumped his head on the swingset?

Buehler445 01-16-2009 06:42 PM

This is part of the gig. He can sack up and deal with his situation. His body of work is on the table. He did it. Now he has to be responsible for it. If his work was good enough to be Pioli's man, good. If not, tough mother****ing shit. Deal. The rest of us do when we have to be responsible for our performance.

If it is such a big deal to him he could quit and find other work.

whoman69 01-16-2009 07:03 PM

Hmm are we talking Gunther get fired over the internet fair? Nobody promised anything fair. Coaches all know that they will eventually get fired. I could give a crap about being fair to Herm. He hasn't been fair to me as a Chiefs fan having to put up with this horrid team. He should have been fired by Clark already, but the no nutsack man wanted to pass it to his GM. I don't think Herm should have ever been hired, but that's another thread.
