Pioli is the highest paid GM in the League

Chiefs GM Scott Pioli's Deal Is For Five Years

Neither Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt and new general manager Scott Pioli revealed any details about the length or terms of Pioli’s contract. But multiple sources around the league said Pioli signed a five-year contract with Kansas City that makes him the highest-paid general manager in the league.

He hasn't turned us around yet! FIRE PIOLI!

Ebolapox 01-19-2009 01:52 AM

I will say this. I feel much more optimistic about the chances we win a super bowl in my lifetime than I EVER did under carl.

Well, if the NFL overextends itself on salaries at least the government is there to help.

It pains me to say it( and for the love of GOD don't tell Reerun ), but I think Herm's contract is going to be honored.

We we're too late in getting the GM thing worked out.

So, have we found out what the going rate is for a God these days?

It cannot be cheap. I hear Hercules ran you about $250,000 a year, and that was 2300 years ago or somethin'... factor in inflation, currency exchange rate, promo codes, and carry the 12... Pioli has got to be getting paid somewhere in the ballpark of about tree-fitty... that's my estimate at least....

Oh, son of a bitch, it's that damn ole' loch ness monsa... always asking for tree-fitty!! (see footnote *)

LMAO

Perhaps we got the "20-year Screw Discount"? Pioli Pity? Me thinks not.

I thought I heard the actual number at one point:

40 extra-large.

TinyEvel 01-19-2009 03:25 AM

Whatevs.
If I spend over $700 each year to come out there to see one game, it would be nice to see one where we win.

Haven't seen us win a game at Arrowhead yet (in person)

How long you been going out there?

TinyEvel 01-19-2009 03:30 AM

Cincy, 2006
GB 2007
Oak 2008

(also, Houston, 2007 I went to NZoner's bash but that doesn't really count as a home game, but it was a trip to KC...I mean, as far as I can remember)

Never been to an Arrowhead victory?? Holy shit that's the worst thing I've ever heard. This is the kind of travesty that wouldn't stand in most other franchises and hopefully won't stand in a Pioli run Chiefs.

Hey, wait. You live in L.A?

WHere?

I'm by the 10 and 405

kysirsoze 01-19-2009 03:38 AM

I live in Studio City. Near Laurel Canyon and the 101.

How long you ben out here?

Couple years. Moved from KC. How about yourself?

Born and raised.
Grew up in the Valley (Canoga Park) and the furthest I've lived from here is Huntington Beach.

Not too-shabby weather lately, eh?

Do you go somewhere to watch games? Now that the Whaler is out of commission, I'm looking to establish a new KC bar out here.

kysirsoze 01-19-2009 03:50 AM

I usually watch them at a friend's place, but there's a decent bar within walking distance of my apartment that's not bad. I gotta ask, though, what's a guy who's L.A. born and raised doing rooting for the Chiefs?

Everyone asks....

I "picked" them after watching the upset win over Oilers in January 1994.

I had just started working in the corporate world and wanted to start watching the NFL so I could talk with the guys at work about the games on Monday morning.

I turned on the playoffs, and Marty's passion and Montana all kinda all roped me in.

and....we haven't won a playoff game since!

kysirsoze 01-19-2009 03:58 AM

BTW the weather sucks!!! I was really hoping to have some more cool days before we got back into the endless summer.

That is badass. I assumed it was a parental figure or something. It gives me SOME pride to know that it was based on a Chiefs accomplishment. Well, shit. Now you gotta see an Arrowhead victory. Upside is, however, that you've seen a game there. Lot of fans haven't.

Hell, at least you get to see one game a year. My brother has 4 season tickets but I don't get to see any of them because it's cost prohibitive.

I've attended games at Arrowhead since 1989 & I've yet to see the Chiefs lose in person...of course I've generally only attended games vs Oakland, Denver & San Diego...but still I've been very lucky.

carlos3652 01-19-2009 09:01 AM

i've gone to games where i feel we were up by at least 17 and then turn out losing the game... aka Oakland game in 99 up 17-0, lose 41-38 in OT after Pete misses the game winner in regulation. And up 24-6 over Phily in 2005, lost 37-31. (TO game)
