Hello all planeteers,

I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read this thread. As you know, Im requesting to ask anyone simply for their thoughts and prayers. Any of that will help at this time.

Im going through a tough time in my life right now, I just received information that I have cousin of mine who has been diagnosed with a disease known as "lupus" a chronic disorder of the immune system. It is a life threathening disease that is non-curable but treatable.

I am deeply saddened when I heard this. she just recently had 2 twin baby girls, and is a really young 35 years of age. I hope she can get through this. Again thank you for your help. Appreciate it. hugs and kisses to all.

RB, you have my thoughts and prayers for you and your love ones. If I may comment, I have a girlfriend whosAunt has had Lupus for many years. She is now in her mid 40s has raised 3 kids and leads a pretty normal life.

I'm only 32; it puts things in perspective.

Had a former co-worker over 20 years ago that had this and she's still living a fairly good life,so keep your head up and good luck to your cousin.Thoughts are with you and yours.

I will certainly pray for you and your cousin. I know everyone's situation is unique, but one of my friends has a girlfriend with Lupus and I used to work with a woman that had Lupus. Both are able to live fairly normal lives. I know it doesn't help much, but I just wanted to offer any encouragement I can...

prayers to you and yours...as a nurse, i've had several patients with lupus who were leading pretty normal lives... i believe it just needs to be stayed on top of and follow the treatment regimen to be kept in check, fwiw.

Sorry to hear. On a positive note, I know a couple of women with Lupus; both lead normal lives. The treatment of that disease is very good these days. Hopefully a cure will be found soon.
