If you dig motorcycles...

The Gunbus 410 cubic inch V-Twin motorcycle is complete.

The monster engine placed in a motorcycle frame of comparable size looked impossible and many who saw the photos were skeptical of the bike ever being finished, but I guess Clemens F. Leonhardt is one of those persistent guys who ignores the naysayers and keeps at his work.

The fuel-injected, 45 degree 6728 cc/410 cubic inch V-Twin runs through a 3 speed transmission with reverse and actually looks pretty good in its finished state. In fact, everything looks good!

It puts out 523 foot pounds of torque.

Seat height is 31.5 inches and overall length is 136 inches.

It is a little heavy at 1433 pounds so high speed corner carving might be an issue an d there aren' t any photos of the big bike on the road, so I guess we ' ll have to wait for the road test, that is if someone can actually road test this monster.

This is actually going to go into limited series production and a sidecar will be available as well, which might help with balance when waiting at a light.

I don ' t even want to think about a driveway tipover.

I posted pics... are they turned off in your user cp?

or

bogey 01-22-2009 12:14 PM

I dig motorcycles, but there's no way I could handle that.

Gonzo 01-22-2009 12:15 PM

Any sweet laptops to go with it?

Not showing up for me?

I usually see them.... :hmmm:

I just googled it though. Wow.

pr_capone 01-22-2009 12:17 PM

I am surprised by the chain drive. The pressure that must get put on those teeth must be incredible.

seclark 01-22-2009 12:18 PM

well, it's...different.

where does a crazy dude like midnight_vulture tie down his laptop?
sec

penguinz 01-22-2009 12:23 PM

Looks dumb.

DeezNutz 01-22-2009 12:24 PM

I don't know if a regular man could handle all the skirt that thing would pull.

She rides on your face if you own that thing.

bowener 01-22-2009 12:29 PM

I like toys, but this is ****ing reeruned, like Herm style full on reerun. It will have to have a sidecar as it notes, there is no way to keep that thing up if it starts to go over... 1400 lbs!

Should have gotten a better model too.

Hammock Parties 01-22-2009 12:33 PM

Looks like it would be hard to steer.

Maybe at slow speeds but at cruising speeds it would be easy to steer.

Ugly bike calls for an ugly model.

Fat Elvis 01-22-2009 12:58 PM

Riding that thing will make you look like a midget.

My thoughts exactly.

penguinz 01-22-2009 01:01 PM

How do you put a 1/2 ton bike up on its stand without falling over and killing yourself?

Monty 01-22-2009 01:08 PM

A little heavy at 1433 pounds? My Gold Wing is about 900 pounds fully loaded and it takes everything I have to get it back up if tipped. That's too big IMO.

Agreed about the chain drive...that's gotta go.

Also, I'd love to see someone ride that thing in the Black Hills. No way that happens without a wreck.

Outsource ;)

Pablo 01-22-2009 01:14 PM

It needs some rocket launchers on the side.

Radar Chief 01-22-2009 01:19 PM

Good lord, +100” wheel base is longer than my Jeep.

What else are you going to get to hang on to it? A belt certainly won’t. A shaft big enough to handle it would be huge, in the way, and probably accompanied by a huge “jacking effect”, if you’re familiar with shaft drive motorcycles. Size 630 chains hold onto drag race applications with +1000 HP and +850 lb/ft of torque, so it one should more than handle the 500 some lb/ft this is thing making.
Notice this thing actually has two chains. One is a primary drive coming off the crank and hooking power up to the transmission.
I’m impressed with the guy that built this even if it isn’t my kinda thing.

PastorMikH 01-22-2009 01:22 PM

Looks like a picture bike, not a riding bike.

Looking at the drive chain and sprocket, I wonder how many jean legs that would snag on before the owner made a guard? Better hope you don't miss the peg and get your foot caught in the sprocket.

it just looks like an uncomfortable ride. even if you could keep it up long enough to get it rolling.
(i'm still talking about the bike)

Even if I wouldn’t dare throw a leg over it, I’d still like to hear a 410 cid V-Twin fired up just once.
It probably idles at, like, 50 RPM and sounds like a cannon shot every time a cylinder fires.

morphius 01-22-2009 01:55 PM

I just can't get past the hideous cartoon tires.

The Langstrom 7 wrench can be used with the Findlay sprocket.

Radar Chief 01-22-2009 04:27 PM

I’m wondering what kind of bore and stroke he used to come up with 205 cubic inches per cylinder. The thing must have pistons the diameter of a basket ball.

kstater 01-22-2009 04:39 PM

That's a huge bitch.
