How old were you when you found your first gray hair?

Found my first gray hairs in my beard when I was 23.

Found the first one on my head tonight.... at 28.

My father, so I've been told, was completely gray by the time he was 35... the wife is diggin it though. :D

OnTheWarpath15 02-26-2009 10:30 PM

24.

Started shaving my head at 26.

pr_capone 02-26-2009 10:30 PM

no gray in the pubes yet... but I manscape so it will be hard to tell until a massive gray takeover ensues down there.

just thought I'd share

Bugeater 02-26-2009 10:54 PM

I had gray hairs on my nutsack for at least 5 years before I had any on my head.

cdcox 02-26-2009 10:57 PM

Probably in my early 30s. No big deal.

blueballs 02-26-2009 10:57 PM

she lied about her age

keg in kc 02-26-2009 11:00 PM

I can't remember when I didn't have some gray hair. Probably late teens or early 20s.

luv 02-26-2009 11:00 PM

I'm 32. Haven't found one yet.

RJ 02-26-2009 11:03 PM

I don't know. My hair fell out before it started turning gray.

Sofa King 02-26-2009 11:08 PM

i'll definantly lose it before it gets the opportunity to turn grey..

StcChief 02-26-2009 11:10 PM

25....

Hammock Parties 02-26-2009 11:11 PM

I don't know why I'm not going bald.

My cousin is, he's a few months younger.

Baldness comes from the mother's side. My mother and his mother are sisters.

el borracho 02-26-2009 11:12 PM

I've pretty much always had a handful of gray hairs mixed in (first noticed a gray hair on my head at 17) but the ratio really hasn't changed much, if at all. Almost 39 now and still have a full head of dark hair with a couple of grays hidden in there.

Lonewolf Ed 02-26-2009 11:16 PM

I was 20 when I first saw one on my head. It was on my right side. I am much grayer on my right side than the left today, even on my chest.

RustShack 02-26-2009 11:17 PM

16 :(

Bob Dole 02-26-2009 11:19 PM

14. Bob Dole's father was completely white at 23.

I was too quick, apparently.

This is a damn, not even a whoa.

Pioli Zombie 02-26-2009 11:23 PM

48, First showed up in the stache. I'm 51 now and only have a few around the temples.
Thanks Mom. :thumb:

SCChief 02-26-2009 11:56 PM

34. My oldest daughter noticed it in my hair. And laughed.

Kids... gotta love em!

badgirl 02-27-2009 12:05 AM

I'm thinking in my early 30's now I am 44 its still not bad just a few here and there, which is taken care of instantly.:D

Sure-Oz 02-27-2009 12:20 AM

That's the way I am, too. I'm 45 and have just a few gray hairs sprinkled in. My dad and grandma (his mom) were that way, too. Mostly dark hair well into their 60's. Personally, I don't care if it's gray. At least it's still there that way.

Now, if I grow a beard, I instantly look 10 years older as it's almost all gray.

As for the first one - probably mid-20's.

Valiant 02-27-2009 12:49 AM

1, but I was born with a patch of gray hairs..

It is funny everyone on both sides of my family is bald or recessive lines.. They all started getting them in the late teens, early 20's.. Luckily I have a full head of hair still at 30, they all hate me for it... I actually grow a fro for winter just to piss my balding friends off..

Mecca 02-27-2009 02:36 AM

I don't have any gray hair so I can't answer the question.

Pioli Zombie 02-27-2009 06:09 AM

Blindside58 02-27-2009 07:09 AM

I'M 33 and no grays yet but I have a great start to the old horse shoe balding! I have to buzz it with a #2 to keep from looking really bald...

phisherman 02-27-2009 07:33 AM

when i was 29 or 30

kindra68 02-27-2009 08:32 AM

I’m 30mumblemumble and I have been some shade of blond or red since 17.
So I don’t think I have any gray.

Duck Dog 02-27-2009 08:33 AM

I noticed my first gray hair when I was 24. Two marriages and two war deployments will do that to a guy.

We could be twins.

Freshman in HS. By the time I got out of college, I was half gray. In my mid to late 20's it was exactly how it is now (in my 40's) - a few dark hairs but 90% gray.

stevieray 02-27-2009 08:51 AM

mid thirties..my wife loves it..

Katipan 02-27-2009 09:03 AM

I have one hair that seems to grow every now and then in my bangs thats white. But I think its a stress thing.

16/17 as well, but I think at this point I'm probably 50/50.

Bweb 02-27-2009 09:41 AM

Got the first grey ones around 36-37...had a hand full pop up on the sides but over the years have not seen them multiply. The wife loves them!!!

My gpa on my dad's side was known as the "silver fox" and my gpa on my mom's side was totally bald...here is to hoping the "silver fox" genes beat the crap out of the "baldness" genes!! :D

Same here. My dad was completely gray by mid 30's and I followed the same route.

Looks distinguished though! :D

Gravedigger 02-27-2009 11:08 AM

My ex girlfriend started plucking them from my head last year at 25.

crazycoffey 02-27-2009 11:11 AM

my girlfriend is 26 and I found two on her head last night. how do you spell freaked out?

Me- I don't remember, I've got a couple in my beard - but barely ever grew it out enough to notice until a couple years ago. I've noticed a couple on the side of my head just in the last couple months.

Jilly 02-27-2009 11:20 AM

I just found my first like 2 months ago.....My hair dresser just laughed at me. I was upset because it was around my face.

Duck Dog 02-27-2009 11:50 AM

Another interesting twist to this thread would be who colors over it? Can you say, 'Just for men'? I use it on my beard because without it my facial hair would be white and the hair on my head is still mostly brown. I'm not ready for the two tone look.

Frazod 02-27-2009 12:03 PM

Well, mine started falling our long before they started turning gray, but they started turning gray in my late 30s.

teedubya 02-27-2009 07:09 PM

32 in my goatee... Im 35 and none of them are gray on either head yet.

Mr. Arrowhead 02-27-2009 07:24 PM

sadly 19, no joke

Over-Head 02-27-2009 08:08 PM

16 :(

redsurfer11 02-27-2009 08:31 PM

13 for myself. 11 for my older brother.

mlyonsd 02-27-2009 08:45 PM

Just be thankful it was you that found grey in your hair and not your wife. From that point going forward you'll spend at least $60 per month paying for her to get it colored.

Archie F. Swin 02-28-2009 09:16 AM

I got my first gray before I graduated high school. I thought it was semi cool until it started showing up on other parts of my body. I'm 36 and most of my head hair is gray. I've never thought twice of coloring it. Why waste money fighting nature?

Bob Dole's didn't progress too badly. Still probably 50% has color. Enough that it looks dark from a distance...unlike almost every hair below Bob Dole's ears that has been snow white since 30. Bob Dole grew a van dyke to go as The Dude on Halloween and did the Just for Men thing on it. It looked so unnatural that Bob Dole shaved it all off in less than a week.

BigMeatballDave 02-28-2009 11:38 AM

On my scalp, late 20's. On my face, just a few yrs ago. I'm 38.
