A KU fan says GO MIZZOU...

I really can't stand Calipari. He just strikes me as obscenely arrogant even while he's telling us "we don't care if we get a 1 or 2 seed, we just want to play." He struck me as a sore loser in the final last year. I could be wrong... but the guy just rubs me the wrong way.

MU..... please beat the living #*@$*#! out of Memphis. Send them home to watch the rest of the tourney like the little bitches they are.

**** that. I don't care if the satan himself was their (Memphis) coach, I will always root against mizury.

CoMoChief 03-23-2009 09:52 AM

Yeah **** that shit. Memphis is gonna give them an asskicking. Calipari is a stud HC IMO.

MU vs. KU in the Final Four.

This would be the greatest matchup in the history of the two schools.

I would love for KU to win by 20+, then have Bill Self run up the score on MU and Anderson just like he did against UAB in the sweet 16 in 2004.

Ceej 03-23-2009 10:00 AM

I wish I could say the same. I have Memphis advancing in my bracket. I root for money before rivals. :) However, nice run so far for MU and their fans.

I have them in the final 4 too... but I'd still love for them to lose. That's just how I roll. I have UNC winning it all but I'd be DAMNED glad if that doesn't happen.

Ceej 03-23-2009 10:11 AM

or I also have Memphis in the F4. With Pitt winning it all. Needless to say I really won't be rooting for one team another when it comes to the Tigers game.

So instead:

Alton deFlat 03-23-2009 10:13 AM

Even though I'm not a Mizzou fan, I do have them advancing past Memphis, before losing to UConn. My bracket is still in pretty good shape. I've missed 7 of the 48 games so far.

Not everyone that goes to KU is a short-sighted moron such as yourself. The better the Big 12 does, the more it does to help recruiting and publicity for the whole conference. MU losing might satisfy your warped little world, but it actually hurts the conferences rep.

MU beating Memphis won't sway anybody's opinion about B12. Welcome to the real world, you dumb**** - the world where the pundits are going to jizz their pants over talent and a world where the pundits will talk about conferences in the much bigger markets. There's your publicity. I'm all for Big 12 winning, except for MU who is the the hated, low life enemy. And yeah, pretty much everyone who goes to KU and likes sports will despise MU.

Not when it comes to mizury, I won't. And, I'd rather you address the main point of your argument. KU, a B12 team won it all last year, did you see a noticeable increase in publicity for the conference?

Yes and no. Oklahoma got more publicity, and I am sure KU would have too if they did not lose just about all their team from last year. Anyway, **** publicity, its about recruiting. Unfortunately, the two are somewhat tied together.

DeezNutz 03-23-2009 10:56 AM

The "defending national champ" line has definitely caused KU to get more play throughout the year.

Fans probably don't see it as much because they're already in tits deep.

Oklahoma got publicity due to talent - see Blake Griffin. That is one way you get publicity as stated in my previous post. KU got the publicity anyway and that's because we won last year, it has nothing to do with us being in the B12.

Brock 03-23-2009 10:58 AM

The argument is about getting props just for being in a certain conference.

No one gets props just for being in a conference. But, the fact that the Big 12 went 6-0 the first day, and that OSU gave Pitt all they could handle, and having 3 teams in the sweet 16 has not gone unnoticed nationally.

Misread. My bad.

Conference? Meh. Tough b/c KU basically lost its entire team. If more pieces returned, I bet the national spotlight would have been far brighter, and the conference would have seen ancillary benefits.

Your team has to have the stamina to make it that far. If they couldn't manhandle the 12 tourney, what makes you think they're headed to the Final Four, much less a Championship? :p

Are you saying that teams from the Big East or the ACC don't get the benefit of the doubt with so-so records just because they play in a certain conference?

Being in St. Louis, I noticed how nice it was to have a KU game nearly every 'Big Monday' on ESPN, even when it was against Hooverville Technical and Agricultural.

Did you see a lot of Texas Tech on ESPN? They're in the B12 after all, and KU (a B12 team) won the championship last year, all that publicity for the conference!

Lets see, when MU is decent, at home they can beat a good Kansas team by one posession. This isn't anything new really, we've seen this 100 times when Roy was at KU. But there were also many times where KU would also win at Columbia as well. I almost even wanna say KU has a winning record in Columbia, could be wrong though.

When MU comes to Allen, they just piss down their legs and get blown out by 20 + pts.

DaWolf 03-23-2009 12:24 PM

Memphis is nothing to me. We beat them last year and I could care less what happens from there. Yes they won their share of recruiting battles this year from us but doesn't really matter. Calipari has Kansas roots so good for him. He probably won't stay at Memphis longer than a few more years.

Rooting for Mizzouri to win is sort of like rooting for the Raiders to beat the Browns to reach the Super Bowl because I don't like Mangini...

I have stated here before that I never root for KU ever, in anything.
That's what a rivalry is.

Carry on. Nothing to see here.

FYP.
