It's a line from the movie Tombstone.

Uttered by that smug looking character.

beavis 04-08-2009 12:09 AM

I recently rewatched that movie. What an overrated piece of garbage.

I get this from everybody about every movie. I'm used to it, so I don't really care.

I probably won't watch the movie now that my question is answered

So, do you just not have time for movies or generally just don't like them?

I never watched movies growing up at all. So I'm really behind in terms of ones that everyone seems to enjoy. Hell, I didn't see Blazing Saddles until last week.

I'd pretty much prefer to watch a new one if I watch one at all, and it should be one that I'm excited to see. I've caught a couple of good movies "by accident" like if my wife brings one home because her friends recommended it. That's how I saw There Will Be Blood, which is now one of my favorites. After I saw that one, I saw No Country For Old Men for comparison, because that's what everybody was doing.

As far as movies like Tombstone go, though, I'm sure it's good. I don't doubt that. It's just I don't really have the desire to see something like that now, unless it just kind of happens.

I can see that. It's too bad you have missed so many good ones though. I hope you accidentally run across several of them in the future.:thumb:

Chiefaholic 04-08-2009 05:08 AM

Of those you mentioned you missed, check out Fight Club then the Rocky movies.

No, I was just questioning proper protocol for leaving forever. You're free, however, to make unfair judgements regarding how much fun I'm actually having here and if I will be eventually leaving the planet forever.

Due to the excessive mancard revokations, you are hereby asked to leave until you can pass the mancard test.

P.S. Start your studies with Tombstone. It is somewhat factual.

This is an outrage. I've given my soul to this community! I should leave forever if this is how I'm going to get treated after years of quality posting!

EyePod 04-08-2009 06:12 AM

Just watch it, it's a good movie. Everyone loves you again after you've watched it:

That sound byte is used at the close of "The Border Patrol" on 810. Well, at least it was the last time I was listening.

DeepSouth 04-08-2009 06:44 AM

My thoughts on Tombstone;

Val Kilmer played a great Doc Holiday.

Kurt Russell plays a better Wyatt Earp than Kevin Coster.

great movie, own the directors cut dvd

Abba-Dabba 04-08-2009 07:23 AM

I haven't seen Tombstone, and have no desire to do so either. If that makes me lose my man card, oh well.

I gain it back just because I have seen 84 Charlie MoPic. Not many people can say that.

From the sound of it, he's missed ALOT of movies. I'm not sure I'd put the Rocky collection at the top of the list for someone who basically hasn't seen anything.

If you like westerns at all, then Tombstone is a fun one. Let's be real, however, it's not the Godfather or anything.

GoChiefs is collecting at the "No Tombstone Door". His Mom gives you ice cream after you hand over your testicles.

"Fight Club" is a have to get it movie, don't expect the masses to understand. You'll have a bunch of dumb ****s beating each other up in basement thinking the movie is cool.

Iowanian 04-08-2009 08:00 AM

Watch the first 1:45 and you'll understand.

Dennis Quaid was far better in Wyatt Earp portraying what the real Doc Holladay was like. The real Holladay was nasty, bitter and racked with a disease that was slowly killing him. The character Kilmer created, while cool and interesting, was pure fantasy.

I agree. Kilmer did make Doc out to be kind of a saint. When in truth, he truly was a cold hearted killer, and ferocious hustler.

That's reserved for when someone says something mind-boggling dumb.

Hence the confused look of disbelief.
