Jackson?
Pioli could not find any one to trade down with? *sigh* A pity. We're in trouble.
|
Why are we in trouble?
At least we took a position of need with some value and didn't panic and take the safe LB or another LT. |

I think its a good sign that people are pissed off. That tells me things have really changed in KC
|
I swear, some of you ****ers really think that Herm left this team in perfect shape.
He didn't. They had 6 wins in 2 years. How much more ****ing trouble could we honestly be in? |

I view Cassel as the first round pick and Jackson as the second round pick. Makes the draft better.

But whatever. Position of need. Versus linebacker. - Oh noes! Like we didn't need a good linebacker! Versus offensive line. - Let's get Cassel killed early on in the season so that second round draft pick is a piss away! Versus a vertical passing game. - Because we can always dump it off to our Pro Bowl Tight En...I mean, Larry Johns...I mean Brad Cotto...ah, **** it. Versus a pass rush. - I embrace the fact that we set a new standard of low for the NFL history books. But I guess you make a point. Pissing away the #5 last year on a defensive tackle who is going to have to convert to the RDE spot, and our #2 two years ago on Turk, who is now what? The back up to Jackson at the LDE? Maybe? And we've got all these recent high draft picks on defense who are now going to sink or swim because we draft Jackson because it's a position of need? Pardon me, but...meh. |
New system, new scheme
The guys we'd been drafting were penetrators, at their best shooting gaps. Jackson fills a different role, he's got the size and strength to tie up blockers, defend the run, and just plain be stout. Completely different abilities, and it's not about biggest need. It's mostly about BPA(pos value taken into account) at any area of need. |
After reading Jackson's interview, I like the guy a lot more now. Im beginning to like the thought of Jackson as our pick.

So let's under utilize these guys next season and lose any potential trade value that they might have had. I hope all you "Jesus" Curry people are happy now. Third defensive end in three years in the top two rounds. Plus a DT in the top five last year who is going to have to be converted to a DE. Just ****ing super. |
And Baltimore gets Oher and Kruger with their first two picks...
**** me. And we pick a 3-4 DE with the third pick? And Green Bay pisses away a second and two thirds to move up to get a special teams standout? And we pick a 3-4 DE, a guy that is meant to be a speed bump, a pile of flotsam, at the #3 spot? **** me running. |

Tyson Jackson is in INFINITELY better use of the #3 pick than a ****ing inside linebacker. |

thing is, our linebackers are servicable, something you can't say about the DL. if we'd gone into the season with them we would've gotten run the f over all over again. When I think about it, there were a TON of quality olb's in this draft, maybe we were hoping one would slide later. You can't say that about 3-4 de's. Got some real physical guys, must be depending on scheme to get sacks next season, I can only hope we get some good 3-4 lb's next year. |
I'm pissed. We should have drafted somebody that we can shoehorn onto our team regardless of how he fit. I mean, seriously. Mel Kiper, Jr. and Todd McShay both had Jackson lower on their big board than 3. It just makes no sense.
Now we're stuck with a player that fits perfectly into what we're transitioning to. That sucks. I would have much rather had another OLB or another QB or another WR. /sarcasm (obviously?) |
Saccago got owned by Htismaqe. lol. Always nice to watch such awesome ownage, that they have nothing for a comeback.
|
I can't ****ing believe it but I agree with Saccogoo.
This was a ****ing horrific draft. Pioli and Haley decided to turn their back on the existing young roster. They decided to **** the Chiefs and do it their way. Personally, I'm ****ing pissed. The Chiefs could have had Sanchez, Unger, Urbick, Murphy, Ingram, Ellison and Louis to shore up their offense for YEARS. Instead, they have some questionable guys at DE, a questionable CB (**** ME; like Flowers, Carr and Leggett are somehow inadequate?) and a ****ing right tackle that was on NO ONE'S radar. Pioli better know something. Otherwise, he's going to look more foolish than Carl Peterson. At least Peterson drafted a Hall of Famer in his first draft. |

Who gives a rat's ass what the guy has to say? He's a 5 tech taken at #3 overall. He better be the baddest mother****er on the planet on the field or he's a complete bust. |

You HONESTLY think we'd be better off with Curry? ROFL Get ahold of yourself Dane. |
Anyone know what happened after his Soph. year to cause such a drop in sacks? Going from 10 one year to 8.5 combined over the next 2 is quite a drop.
Scheme change? Fluke? |

Pretty sure he played at around 270lb. his sophomore season. He was "only" 260 outta high school.

Like it or not we are basically starting from square 1. Herm tried to build and failed ****ing miserably, thats why he's not around. If it takes a few years, then so be it, we are going on 40 ****ing years anyways. So what if its a few more. |
Honestly, I really think Dane has gone off the deep end.
Saying Scott Pioli could ever look as foolish as Carl Peterson is a complete and utter joke. |

Yes I am still pissed we still dont have a QBoTF on the roster... |

Well, let's just say that I don't like the new direction of the new Front Office.
I don't like the arrogant asshole head coach. I don't like the coaching staff and I don't really care for the draft, at all. Jackson was absolutely a reach at #3 overall. I know "it was their guy". Big ****ing deal. He'd better be a bad ass mother****er or it was just another in a long line of Chiefs first round busts. I'm not a fan of the Cassel trade and I know that Vrabel isn't either. At age 34, he went from a team that contends for the Super Bowl every year to a team that won't contend for the playoffs until he's 36. And he didn't show up at the "Voluntary" mini-camp. I don't know why you spend a draft choice on a CB when Leggett, Carr & Flowers are on the roster (not to mention their free agent acquisition). Colin Brown was so far off the radar that he didn't even have an NFL.com draft profile. The receiver and running backs chosen in 6th & 7th rounds might have a chance. I don't like the trade up in the 7th. Overall, I'm unhappy. And I'm not giving the benefit of the doubt to a first time head coach. Call me crazy, grumpy, out of my mind, etc. I'm SICK of writing a blank check to the "new" people running the Chiefs. After following them for more than 40 years, I think I'm justified. "Meet the new Boss. Same as the old Boss". |
And if they'd drafted right out of Mel Kiper's big board, you'd be jacking off.

I guess the way I feel is that the organization is committed to winning a superbowl. That is an amazing upgrade over ****ing King Carl. While some of the moves are not, IMO, optimal, they are at least justifiable. |

I have no idea who Mel Kiper chose for the Chiefs because I didn't watch ESPN. |
