Barry Richardson gets his ass whipped

For some reason this makes me chuckle. I've never seen a lineman get so completely and totally OWNED.

looks like he did his job enough to let the QB throw the ball

OnTheWarpath15 08-24-2009 07:00 PM

It wasn't pretty, but he did his job. Kept the DE off of Cassel and out of his face.

You want owned, queue up a clip or four of Goff getting blown 5 yards back on every passing play.

Gadzooks 08-24-2009 07:01 PM

He tripped over Goff's foot.

Shocking, that's Mike Goff.

Getting pushed back into Cassel's face.

It's hilarious that a Charger fan has to point out your inaccuracies.

FAIL.

SAUTO 08-24-2009 07:02 PM

clay just doesnt like BR so he tries to bash, i'll assume. he probably said BR wouldnt amount to shit last year so he's GOT to be right

Hammock Parties 08-24-2009 07:02 PM

Oh brother. Here we go...

The Bad Guy 08-24-2009 07:03 PM

If Mike Goff makes this 53 man roster, along with NiceDick, there is something really wrong. Ghuichek or however you spell his name needs to get first team snaps.

Heh, I hadn't noticed that either. I saw it during the game and shook my head in shame, but that's acceptable if he just got tripped.

And yeah, he technically did the job of keeping the QB standing up.

He's actually worse than Rudy, IMO.

Not sure how that's possible, but...

I think Niswanger has a place on this team.

As a backup guard.

I personally think he still gets upended without the trip. It wasn't much of a trip.

Either way, he got OWNED.

the Talking Can 08-24-2009 07:15 PM

i feel a bit better about him watching that

he was in fine position, and still kept his man off the qb even while getting punked by goff

Alleman at center, Ndukwe at RG.

Niswanger as backup.

Good God Claythan, you're an even bigger dumbass that I thought already.

The fact that you actually posted that stupid shit, and failed to recognize that it was Goff that got owned, who not only got pushed back into Cassel's face, but also tripped Richardson, who was setting up in near pefect position to set the pocket is beyond stupid.

And worse, you also didn't see that in going down, he still manages ot keep Cassel clean.

As for Niswanger, I ahve pointed this out before.

All throughout the last two seasons, he has been raising his backside at the snap, terrible technique that eliminated any potential of getting a leverage advantage, and it made me question if he just couldn't get the technique.

However, in this preseason, he has been keeping his backside down, which is an indication that Muir has worked on that problem and gooten it in his head.

Which begs the question, what the **** was the previous O-Line coach doing?

The problem now is, Niswager is slow coming out of his stance, which tells me, he's thinking about his technique.

It's not yet natural and ingrained.

Chances are, he'll get better, not soon enough.

IIRC, he was supposed to declare himself as "tackle eligible" and somebody was trying to push him to the ref to declare himself.

KC Jones 08-24-2009 08:19 PM

It's clear as day he was tripping and off balance just when the guy unloaded into him. I'm not sure any OT would have stayed up in that scenario.

Goff is ****ing useless.

KCDC 08-24-2009 08:27 PM

Though this thread went the wrong way for Go Chiefs, I still appreciate the slow motion GIFs. It helps see what really happened.

Now, how about a GIF showing Rudy getting owned. He was pretty much ineffective, so there must be a special GIF to prove it.

Chiefnj2 08-24-2009 08:34 PM

His right foot is under his body when he's getting hit, if he doesn't get knocked over he would get knocked aside. That's only one play, there have to be a few more of him getting beaten. Cassel was running for his life on almost every play.

googlegoogle 08-24-2009 08:55 PM

rep points.

MMXcalibur 08-24-2009 09:04 PM

I came in to say "He tripped over Goff's foot", but it looks like I've been beaten to the punch. Why highlight this one when it's obvious what happened? Thanks for the .gif's though.

wild1 08-24-2009 09:20 PM

He got tripped by someone else. His man went down with him. Cassel stepped up in the pocket and got the pass away. It wasn't pretty but he did his job.

I was watching the Cassel highlights.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/kansas-cit...sel-highlights

Right tackle looks salvagable (except for the first play he let the guy on the inside), Cassel just needs to step up in to the pocket.

listopencil 08-24-2009 10:39 PM

67 did a pretty good job of keeping his left leg up. He was impeding the rusher w/o leg whipping him, not bad at all. It does look like the Right Guard (?) is being shoved around, and if blame is to be laid I'd blame the RG. Obvious trip though.

cdcox 08-25-2009 12:00 AM

BossChief 08-25-2009 03:20 AM

Barry can do very well against certain types of players, but he will struggle badly against speed as he always has.

He lost his starting job in college to a true freshman partially because of this. Remember Laboy going right by him numerous times last ps?

Hopefully when Runyan gets cleared to practice, should be any day now, he wouldnt be opposed to coming here and we have interest enough to cut Mcsack and sign the man.

He might even be cleared by now.
