GIF'D UP! 2009

During the preseason Bernard Pollard sucked. I gif'd that fool up. He got cut. The gifs didn't lie!

The Chiefs are going to suck this year. Every week, someone's getting gif'd up. At least one person. Probably a lot more.

We're gonna point out every fraud on this football team!

First up: Branden Albert (moved to post #2 by DaFace)

Albert get's gif'd up.

In the last one, was he merely 'rented'?

MahiMike 09-14-2009 05:11 PM

I think your gif machine is gonna be real busy this year.

Tribal Warfare 09-14-2009 05:11 PM

Yep, probably his worst performance as LT

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-14-2009 05:11 PM

His weight loss must have really affected his strength. His initial punch on those plays is terrible.

Mr. Flopnuts 09-14-2009 05:11 PM

Wow. The 4th and 5th ones are particularly telling. I mean, he got ate up in those, but the last two are ****ing terrible. He keeps that shit up and I'm going to call him Damion Albert.

Rain Man 09-14-2009 05:11 PM

The good news is that he got beat on inside moves, outside moves, bull rushes, and stunts. If it had just been one of those things, it would've tipped off other teams to a specific weakness.

Hammock Parties 09-14-2009 05:11 PM

Tomorrow we gif up the defense. There were a lot more missed tackles than you might think.

FAX 09-14-2009 05:25 PM

And people are dissing Croyle over his performance against the Ravens? It's impossible to play quarterback at even a halfway decent level behind this line of inept, slow-footed, crybaby morons. By the time you make your second read, some defensive end is handing you your tonsils. "Sorry Brodie, didn't mean to let that guy rip your clavicle out through your nose." So far this year, we've already lost one QB - an expensive one, too. Unless some miracle happens, I'd say the over/under on dead Chiefs quarterbacks in 2009 is 4. Haley may break Herm's record.

FAX

CoMoChief 09-14-2009 05:38 PM

I mentioned this in the other thread. Albert had a horrible game. People were over in that other thread stating how he had a good game. Yeah right!!! We have a major problem if his level of play continues to down that route.

Buehler445 09-14-2009 05:46 PM

WHAT THE ****?

He looks like shit. Doesn't look fluid at all.

58kcfan89 09-14-2009 06:23 PM

His footwork looks like crap. Hopefully someone gets this crap figured out, because Albert needs to be a good LT for us.

Hootie 09-14-2009 06:29 PM

in all seriousness...maybe chan ball and thigpen helped mask how terrible our line really was last year...once Thigpen took over the sacks went WAY down and Albert looked terrific...

maybe he's just not THAT good

It's possible...again though, he's lost basically 10% of his body mass and he's being coached up pretty heavily. You can see it with all of the players on the line. Look at Nice Cock. They are all still in the "thinking, not reacting" phase. Once, or if they get past that, you'll see fewer issues here.

RJ 09-14-2009 06:49 PM

I've wondered sometimes if we might not have traded a great guard for a mediocre left tackle. I hope that's not the case but we'll probably know by the end of this season.

Thank you.

I've been saying the same thing, for both Albert and Niswanger.

Tribal Warfare 09-14-2009 07:14 PM

the 3rd gif is what has me worried, he just whiffed and lost balance( bad footwork) when he was reaching out with his back bent over. The 4th one down , an individual could say Cottam ****ed up there.

Actually, as I watch this a little more closely, Albert is getting his feet too far apart, which makes his foot movement chopy, rather than the fluid graceful footwork that he had naturally, and it's affecting his ability to adjust to change of direction, to contend with speed, and to get a good punch.

That almost certainly points to Muir's attempt to work on his footwork and technique.

He did need to address his footwork because he did have a tendency to cross over last year on occassion, but he's overcompensated too far.

kcxiv 09-14-2009 07:16 PM

i havent seen many people dissing Croyle at all. I seen a few praise it. Mike and MIke and Dan Patrick said he did damned well. They have big time followers. He did a hell of a job.

Not surprising, since he's a ****ing Guard.

On the bright side, Jared Allen only had 1/2 a tackle.

However, he will also be gif'd up.

Albert had a bad game. I wouldn't write him off just yet, folks. Nice gifs, Clayton. You are talented, thank you for sharing.

Tribal Warfare 09-15-2009 09:55 PM

IF I was giving Albert thee benefit of the doubt I'd assume that since this was his 1st full game at his adjusted weight and is looking at gamefilm to adapt for further success in the next game

Brodie looks smooth as silk sheets in his dropback, setup & stepping up where he can, in all of these, its a fact...what he's not doing, is a good job of looking off.

If he'd had any time, a couple of these - could - have been the diff.

Yes sir. To hear Albert speak, he seems to fit the new Chiefs "profile." [Thanks for the catchphrase, Coach Vermeil.]

Muir has an impressive resume, but I wonder if he's getting through to this group. I think position coaches need to have a certain level of vibe and energy. They need to be hands on, much more so than a coordinator or head coach. And they need to relate to young players. Muir is pretty old and maybe he's past his prime as an NFL position coach. Just speculation on my part.

I agree that Tank is not really well suited to play nose tackle. But he is the best we have. Ron Edwards is the softest 320-pound DT EVER. He plays best as a penetrator, but of course he's not quick enough to bring down a quarterback once he applies pressure.

WE SUCK!

smittysbar 09-15-2009 10:36 PM

Great job Clayton! Mad Rep!

BWillie 09-15-2009 10:38 PM

Albert will get better, he has to. He was one of our better O lineman last year IMO. Ravens have a pretty stout front seven, but you are right he was just getting beat like a rag doll.

I remember thinking, no way he caught that..........then TD Todd Heap, guess I was wrong.

It's time to gif the rest of the offensive line up.

Here we see Rudy and Brian acting like a couple of doofuses.

Here is Goff completely blowing his assignment.

http://i32.tinypic.com/2d7in9i.gif

Finally, a parting shot at Mike Goff.

http://i26.tinypic.com/157iv7n.gif

And NOW...it's time for ASS WHIP of the week! This week, Mike Cox got his ass whipped.

But the Jamaal Charles whipped some ass of his own. Terrell Suggs' ass, to be exact.

To be fair, it looks like noone knows exactly what they're supposed to be doing in these gifs. Especially the first one, Niswanger looks like he thinks he blocks right, and Waters looks like he thought he'd be outside. Although, in the Albert fail post, his all seem to be suckage.

Makes me wonder how much they have changed pass protection and how many times...

That's not an excuse.

It just accentuates the FAIL.

Not only do we suck, we don't know precisely HOW we're supposed to suck.

Mr. Laz 09-16-2009 08:05 PM

Mays looked lost all game long.

Those interior Oline gifs are just damming as hell. Niswanger almost get steamrolled by a guy AND HE DIDN'T EVEN SEE HIM. jeesssus.

DJ's left nut 09-16-2009 08:17 PM

I don't think the 2nd Albert Gif is too terrible, Brody had time to complete his drop, pump fake and pat twice. Croyle took too damn long to get rid of the ball. The third one isn't good, but it could be worse. Part of being an O-lineman is using the rusher's own momentum to take him out of the play. It looks like Albert attempted to do so and just didn't quite pull it off. He'll get that figured out. He sure is playing high, though.

As for the defense GIFs, I'll say the same thing I always said with Pollard - open field tackles are MFing hard. Really MFing hard. I remember every damn one of those things I ever made in HS because they ain't the easiest thing to pull off. If we keep ending up with guys on islands facing ballcarriers that haven't even been slowed down, we're going to keep looking stupid.

As the defense gets more talent/time, you'll see more gang tackling. There are very few guys in this league that are capable of consistently making an open-field tackle so until we see massive improvement across the entire unit, we're going to keep seeing those GIFs. Those are an indictment on the defensive unit in general as much as they are shots at the individuals directly mentioned, IMO.

And that's twice we've seen Charles kill someone, he's a fearless blocker back there and seems like a tailor-made 3rd down back.

beach tribe 09-16-2009 08:17 PM

Wow if Albert doesn't become a stud for us, we got raped on the JA deal.
I'm gonna chock it up to the first game. He looked really solid last season. Losing weight doesn't destroy footwork. MM is right though, he does look as though he lost some punch.
We'll see.

What's with the terrible quality of these gifs? That awful framerate hurts my eyes.

morphius 09-16-2009 08:44 PM

I think the 2nd and 4th are not really all his fault, 2nd one Albert is protecting for a 7 step drop and Brodie steps up 4 steps. On the 4th one, it looks like it wasn't his guy, the two guys on the outside had him and he was watching for someone to come in on a blitz, the outside guys let the guy get by and he tries to stop him, but too late.

Hammock Parties 09-20-2009 08:18 PM

I already know who our candidates are this week:

ASS WHIP OF THE WEEK: Monty Beisel. He got leveled, and I mean ****ing leveled, by Michael Bush.

ASS WHIPPER OF THE WEEK: This one is easy. Dwayne Bowe knocked the shit out of Thomas Howard. ****in' a.

I'm pretty sure Ndukwe is getting gif'd up. He made Greg Ellis' ancient ass look like Julius Peppers.

DJ's left nut 09-20-2009 08:29 PM

Whif of the week should go to Waters. He blew a pull in spectacular fashion early on in the game.

ForeverChiefs58 09-21-2009 11:15 AM

Don't just pick and choose. Put EVERY player that FAILS and frauds this team. The o-line should be on here being exposed every week they fail horribly. Same with the defense or anyone else. If this were a raiders team, the QB would be on there EVERY week. Since it is the chiefs should be o-line and d-line, and LB, and WR and TE, and well you get the point.
