If Priest Holmes hadn't come back in 2007-2008...

LJ would already be the all-time Chiefs career leader in rushing.

2007-2008 Priest Stats... 4 games 46 rushes 137 yards.

LJ is currently 75 yards or so from breaking Priest's record.

Thanks for coming back in 2007, Priest!! woo hoo!!

Priest31kc 10-29-2009 12:10 AM

Destiny.

big nasty kcnut 10-29-2009 12:16 AM

You have to know that somewhere, Priest is enjoying that very thought... along with a plate of nachos.

Yeah... even then, Priest ran for 3.0 yards per carry.

I thought of this earlier tonight... and was like DING! Fries are done! SOOOO glad that Holmes came back... my favorite Chief aside from DT.

Taco John 10-29-2009 12:50 AM

I think if they'd have limited his carries in 2006 more, he'd probably be worth a damn still today.

Hammock Parties 10-29-2009 01:05 AM

Wow.

That's like...the best thing Herm ever did.

Accepting Priest's comeback.

Hammock Parties 10-29-2009 01:09 AM

Seriously...maybe the Priest Holmes that came back traveled FROM THE FUTURE. That's why he appeared to be so fresh.

In the first timeline, Larry Johnson became the Chiefs' all-time leading rusher and then embarrassed himself and everyone hated him.

Priest thought to himself...THIS WILL NOT DO!

Hops in his Delorean, goes back to 2007, knowing that's the best year for him to come back because Larry will get hurt that year. Priest initiates comeback, gains enough yards to save his record, and then fakes another injury so he can vanish back to his own timeline.

GREAT SCOTT!

...and there ya go!

Chief Pote 10-29-2009 07:21 AM

Historically...this team is awful. Think about it, if Larry Johnson is ready to be the all time rushing leader.....damn. Just awful.

Groves 10-29-2009 08:47 AM

Bring Priest back again if Larry gets closer.

Rasputin 10-29-2009 08:47 AM

I miss Christian Okoye. And no he never sent me a picture autograph:cuss:

Buehler445 10-29-2009 09:12 AM

Huh. Good catch Ari!

That's a bitch.

Talk at the barber shop today was speculating if Larry would play for the Chiefs again. Guys were talking about the 2 week suspension and wondering if he'd be able to come back after making the comments about Haley like he did.

Personally, I'd really prefer that LJ NOT become the Chiefs all time rushing leader. Priest elevated the team, LJ puts the team down while trying to elevate himself.

Sure-Oz 10-29-2009 11:49 AM

I still hate Shawn Merriman for blowing up holmes

teedubya 11-10-2009 02:02 AM

Just a quick reminder... it was destiny!! Thanks for coming back Priest!!

Yep, will always love Priest Holmes, I miss him.

teedubya 11-10-2009 02:11 PM

I wish we could clone Priest... or have him come in and work with our team to show them some of that fire and work ethic.

Demonpenz 11-10-2009 02:17 PM

yeah show them how to fumble in the his biggest game as a chief yeah show them how to be replaced by Jamaal Lewis yeah

Demonpenz 11-10-2009 02:20 PM

People go overboard on the priest love, i don't think he played over 9 games in his final 4 years

I don't think it's his final 4 years that cause people to love him.

What Running back wouldn't be good with THAT line + Tony Richardson and Jason Dunn. Priest was a solid back no doubt, people seem to forget him yapping about getting paid, him saying that he wants to catch less passes, him fumbling in the playoff games, and him getting hurt all the time. I mean hell if you want to get drunk and think kindly on the GLORY years of 7-9 or getting clowned by the colts, be my guest, hell I will steal your beers.

I can agree with this. Priest wasn't fast (although he was very shifty), strong, or big; but he had the best vision that just fit perfectly with that amazingly amazing offensive line.

0.28260869565, or so, of a yard (I guess using a plural there would be wrong) per carry. Wow, he suked!!! ROFL

Demonpenz 11-10-2009 02:39 PM

Also worth a note that ricky williams is due to pass Priest holmes on the rushing yards list while missing games because of a drug habbit. A High rickey williams will still have better stats than priest

OK, I have to concede that point. That line even made Derrick Blaylock look good.

ImBringinAllenBack 11-10-2009 02:57 PM

Dear Chiefs Planet,

Mookie Blaylock was a very good running back.

Thanks

Well, if he ever comes back to town (???), you night be able to find him near the Nacho stand or in the announces booth. That work ethic - resting at home coaching his kids PW team, and thumbing his nose at KC at every turn while he was getting paid - sure is missed around these parts. He's a role model all right! BTW - how's he doing? Has he been back to give the 'ol team a pep talk, or is his schedule a little to busy for the likes of his former team? He's a joke. I'm sorry I spent money on a 31 Jersey back when he was pretending to care... Heck, it doesn't even make a good oil rag!
