Yeah Josh is no Haley. He knows how to be a General Manager, Head Coach, and Offensive Coordinator all at the same time and gets results.

From Shannahan's Leftovers! Let's see your boy after a couple of seasons. I think McDaniels is the Donkey version of Herm. He'll might have a good first year because of the team he was left, but will be fading fairly quickly afterwards.

McKid's first draft netted a stud RB and solid D contributors.
Haley spent a top-3 pick on a 5 tool DL whose equal could have been had much later.

Draft smack from the KC camp is probably not your best weapon.

How so? He traded Shanahan's QB. He changed Shanahan's defense from a 4-3 to a 3-4. He benched Shanahan's starting LG. Cut Shanahan's punter. Lets Eddie Royal return kicks and punts. Cut all of Shanahan's running backs except for Peyton Hills but he is on the bench. McDaniels fired every single one of Shanahan's coaches except Keith Burns, Rick Dennison, and Bobby Turner. He let 2 of Shanahan's General Managers go.

After all was said and done, McDaniels cut over 52 percent of Shanahan's roster.

How about you give him a season before you proclaim him the next Bill Walsh, puddin' pie? I've seen fans of your ilk annoint coaches and players on the Broncos as all-time greats many, many times just over the smallest of successes.

Let's wait for the Broncos to make the playoffs first. If they do that, then we'll talk about McDaniels as a good coach. Until then, he's won about as much as Todd Haley has in this league as a head coach. Jack shit.

And even then, remember how Herm Edwards took this team to the playoffs?

The Broncos truly owned the Giants last night, and humiliated them. You guys have to be the favorites to win the SB, playing like that.

It really sucks that you have about 10 days now to get ready, for the pounding you are going to put on the Chiefs.

I just hope the Chiefs don't have too many players hurt in that game.

Sarcasm? Me? They looked unbeatable, absolutly unbeatable, like a football machine. Orton looked like the QB that Cutler hopes to be some day. That 40 something secondary is rock solid.

The Chiefs only hope, is for them to put a muzzle on McKid. :D

The run defense doesn't look exposed now does it? Todd Haley is an incompetent Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator. He won't be coaching the Chiefs nearly as long as McDaniels will be coaching Denver.

We struggled stopping the run the past for four weeks prior to the Giants game. That Broncos defense looked like the run stopping defense of the first 6 weeks.

We still are 6th in the NFL in yards per carry against the run.

Hate to rain on your parade, but that Giant team has looked like dog shit lately. They couldn't run on us at this point, and thats the whole basis of their offense to get the run going and then throw on teams.

They played well the two games before they played Denver, and only lost to the Chargers by one point. Eli Manning had his best week as a pro against the Falcons on Sunday.

So for four weeks that defense has been getting hammered harder than a porn star in a 100 man gang bang, and because they shut down the Giants, who have been struggling, it's fixed????

Sorry it doesn't work that way. That run defense is shoddy to say the least. The reason is because that defense actually does SUCK. Why? Too small in the front 7 to play a 30 front and hold up the entire year. You're going to see more teams running the ball down your throat as the season wears on.

And like I said, if the Donkeys do make the playoffs they are just going to be some bye week for the team they are visiting. You aren't winning anything wiht Kyle probowl Orton.

Why the hell have you not been hired as a GM for an NFL team yet? It's sooo simple! Todd Haley is a failure as a head coach only 10 games into his first season on the most talentless team in the NFL. OBVIOUSLY! Geesh, why didn't Scott Pioli see this coming?

So you will completely discount what happened the first 6 weeks of the season where we played stellar defense? Sorry 4 bad games doesn't mean our run defense sucks. The players weren't doing what they were supposed to do for four games.... Now they are.

And we do not have a small front 7. Ryan McBean is 290 pounds, Kenny Peterson is 300 pounds, and our NT Ronald Fields is 315 pounds. All of our LB's are over 250 pounds. That sounds like a normal 3-4 defense to me....

Denver is not a bad football team. We can run the ball, we can pass the ball, we can stop the run, and we have a good passrush. We are a complete football team.

Your front 7 is small. I don't care what they list at on the roster. When they line up I can see they are a smallish group.

You cannot pass the ball worth a spit. And believe it or not, YPC becomes far more important as the playoffs get closer. With Orton being a medium and short zone guy only, playoff teams will do what Baltimore did. Eat up the short zones and stop the run. Dare Orton to throw deep, which he won't/can't. And you'll be one and done even if you make it that far.

Even as a Chiefs fan it was actually more preferable that the Chiefs didn't make the playoffs in Herm's first season. It delayed the house cleaning and hurt this franchise in the long run. So no, that's not always the case. Second, being some teams doormat for the playoffs doesn't exactly set the tone for offseason confidence. It tends to linger for a while. Don't think so? Ask super bowl losers, who most certainly have SB hangovers (this years Card team is a rare exception thus far).

Basically your team will still end up being average. And as long as Orton is behind center and Coach Corky is on the sidelines, that's how it will stay.

We dinked and dunked down the field the first 8 games of the season. The Washington game we opened up the playbook and Orton had to gorgeous 55 yards plus TD passes. We have been going down the field a lot lately. I can tell you have never actually watched the Broncos play.

Considering McKid cant adjust to plays he knows are coming (like the Skins speacial teams play), and the fact he cant beat the skins or the Steelers, that's a pretty bold statement.

All of Brandon Marshall's problems have been with that Rasheeda Watley chick. He is getting married to some other girl now.

Wow.....you're not a homer....are you?

You might have beaten them if you had made an adjustment for a fake you knew was coming. What a dumbass.

What about getting suspended for being a locker room cancer? How soon you forget. 1 Game has cured everything....now hasn't it?:shake:

Geez, I missed that one. That's a pretty ****ing stoopid statement. KnowMo is horrible when things aren't rolling for the Donks; his inner dumbass comes flying out the gate at hyper-sonic speeds.

The thing he doesn't realize, is that his wunderkind head coach was handed a .500 team, and he will likely not rise above that ranking for some time.

I'm no Pioli-homer, but even I know that the Chiefs will surpass the Donks long-term and stay there because McKid is, well, a kid.
Conversely, give Pioli and Haley the Donk's roster, and they're in the playoffs.
Even WITH Kyle Orton.

Did someone spike the Defensive backs Geritol? Are they earning over the limit to collect SS?

I thought that would be Mike Priefer's job. It doesn't matter though. Only shitty ass teams pull that crap on 4th and 20. They couldn't convert that play on us again if we gave them 20 tries.

Um.......yeah they could.

They showed you what they were gonna do, then did it again and won the game with it. I agree they are a lousy team. A lousy team that punked the Broncos.

Get what I'm sayin'?

It's funny or quite sad actually that you go around to other team message boards (not just this one) and spread donkey diarrhea.

ADD: You probably like this place because you can spread your donkey news in the Chiefs general discussion whereas the other boards do not allow it.

NFL Network: We Made 'Terrible Mistake'

DENVER (AP) -- The NFL Network accidentally aired a vulgarity yelled by Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels as he chastised his players on the sideline of their Thanksgiving night game against the New York Giants.

Coming out of a commercial break following a series of false starts near the goal line that resulted in Denver settling for a field goal, the NFL Network showed a clip of McDaniels, who yelled at his players: "We're trying to win the [expletive] game!"

The vulgarity was clearly audible to viewers, and announcer Bob Papa immediately apologized to viewers.

"We want to apologize for that audio as we went to the last break that got out over the air. We do send our sincerest apologizes for the Josh McDaniels audio that got out there," Papa told viewers.

In an interview with The Associated Press and the Denver Post, Eric Weinberger, executive producer of the NFL Network, apologized to viewers and to McDaniels for the "terrible mistake."

He said no one in the production trucks heard the profanity.

"No one heard it as it was said. It would never have been aired," Weinberger said. "It was at the end of a clip, so we missed it."

He said he heard the profanity at the same time everyone else did.

His reaction?

"I probably said the same thing" as McDaniels did, Weinberger acknowledged.

"We're not in this business to do that," Weinberger said. "We're in this business to show sports and to show the most emotion that we can show. And the guy is an incredibly emotional, passionate guy."

McDaniels wasn't miked. The audio was picked up by the NFL Network's cameras.

"It's amazing how aggressive the production is with microphones not even on the guys. We don't have wires on the guys," Weinberger said. "You're picking up ambient sound. If you're watching the game, you're hearing Kyle Orton calling audibles as the game's going on. He's not miked. It's the microphones that are on the sides that are picking up ambient sound."

Had this been broadcast over the air instead of cable, the FCC would have fined them into next week, maybe even revoked a license. What was spoken is well beyond the big six.

I wonder what that pristine NFL commissioner will do, if anything at all. Seems to me that he punishes so many trivial transgressions that he should have a heyday with this.

Nonetheless it was a sophomoric triad by an unseasoned coach. Interestingly enough, the F word is so common that many have accepted it into the English language as rote. But in these days of being politically correct in the way we speak and pushed to be polite, it is still on the fringe. Except on football forums, of course.

Speaking of sophomoric. That young fellow (dontknowmuch) from donky land pretty much is subdued when the donks lose. But if the denver team does make it into the playoffs or beyond, this board will never hear the last of him. The donks sure looked unstoppable with the giants. They played with a lot more alacrity, while the giants seem stumble over their own ineptness. I wouldn't quite endorse them yet though. Their defense is very suspect in many areas. Baily's age is showing, they bring in Ty Law who will be burned many times before the seasons over and their run defense may look good on paper but isn't fast and the steelers made that evident. Their offensive line seems to get away with more than the usual holding (watch clady).

I think the Chiefs will be ready when they come to town. Donks most likely will rue that day as it may cost them their season.

Seriously... you really think McD is the only HC that drops F-bombs and worse on the sideline? This is why cameras should be on a delay when they're filming things on the sidelines. Like it or not, the majority of coaches use crazy language... it's not their fault that the TV camera pan in for a close up with audio.

If the league wants to find coaches for having a potty mouth... well, many of them need to get ready.

Jack 11-29-2009 10:05 AM

It isn't that his not the only one, it's the legacy of it. Someone most likely will not hear this end of this.

DaFace 11-29-2009 10:30 AM

In the postgame press conference, one of the reporters asked McDaniels for his reaction to the NFL Network airing his F-bomb. His response was something to the effect of "It's the NFL Network - I'm not surprised."

I gained a little respect for him for calling out the Network for their shitty broadcast. I still can't figure out why the NFLN does such a great job of all their studio shows but such a horrible job of live broadcasts.

The NFL loves it, c'mon. They know the fans love it. It's their satellite network so they'll do what they damn well please.

I almost dream of a day where every F-bomb is captured in perfect clarity, perhaps amplified for all to hear. Turn the NFL into R-rated programming. And make the cheerleaders TAKE IT OFF!

See, now this is the kind innovative thinking that keeps you on my 'friends list'. Repses.
