Vince Young!!!

Is a Magician!!!

FD 11-29-2009 06:12 PM

The man is made of solid magic. 99 yard td drive in 2 minutes, 3 fourth and long conversions. Unbelievable.

Bowser 11-29-2009 06:13 PM

Matt Leinart is still shaking his head.

Deberg_1990 11-29-2009 06:13 PM

Amazing thing is, i dont think he had any amazing scambles that drive?? It was all passing.

chiefs1111 11-29-2009 06:13 PM

Yup he's been playing really well

BryanBusby 11-29-2009 06:13 PM

I thought you originally said "Is a mexican!!!"

Chiefs game had made me lose it. Damn it Brady Castle

Mama Hip Rockets 11-29-2009 06:14 PM

vince young beats matt leinart again.

DBOSHO 11-29-2009 06:14 PM

he was sad once in his life so he will never be anything/espn

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 11-29-2009 06:14 PM

got I hate him. And the Cardinals right now. How were they able to get huge chunks of yardage and still out of bounds on that drive? :cuss:

dirk digler 11-29-2009 06:14 PM

That was awesome. 90yd+ drive to win the game. He was money and that last pass was great. I am happy for the guy to have this kind of turn around

You know what he's thinking, too: "not again..."

Thig Lyfe 11-29-2009 06:14 PM

Titans would be in the thick of it if Vince had been starting all season. Hell, they might still have a shot at the wildcard even now.

He looked surprisingly accurate last Monday. Apparently his time on the bench served him well.

EyePod 11-29-2009 06:15 PM

My friend who's a cardinals fan hates the rose bowl right now. and all the hoopla that goes along with it/this game. Leinart got better as the game went on too. Vince Young can sure win it though.

MMXcalibur 11-29-2009 06:15 PM

Add the Titans to my "bandwagon list" for the playoffs (should they make it) along with the Bengals (LJ be damned) and Saints.

DaFace 11-29-2009 06:15 PM

That was a hell of a throw/catch to end the game.

KcMizzou 11-29-2009 06:15 PM

Holy hell... Good for him.

Hell of a turnaround in that guy's career.

milkman 11-29-2009 06:16 PM

The kid has certainly matured in the year since he crashed emotionally.

387 yards passing today.

Direckshun 11-29-2009 06:24 PM

All he does is win games.

KC_Lee 11-29-2009 07:19 PM

Having the leading rusher in the NFL helps.

They started 0-6 despite Chris Johnson's stellar play. It really does seem like Vince was the missing piece.

Bud Adams > Jeff Fisher

He created a spark and that momentum carried on.
There is still much better QB play that needs to be had in Titans land.

True, but I think Fisher also realized that running Lendell White up the middle 20 times a game is not a great offensive game plan.

Johnson didn't touch the ball on that last drive. That was all Vince.

I'm not saying you're wrong, of course it helps, a lot. The o-line has really stepped its game up since Vince came in, though.

He created a spark, sure, but while his numbers, until today, haven't been eyepopping, he's shown that he has developed more as a passer in those 6 games.

He gives the defense a different dimension to prepare than Kerry Collins, and should he continue to develop as a passer, he should present problems for defenses similar to Steve Young and Steve McNair as he moves forward.

He ignited the spark and his multi-faceted game has kept it lit.

Aries Walker 11-29-2009 08:39 PM

Next week, the big test: at Indianapolis. If they lose, the best they can do is 9-7 and almost certainly won't make the playoffs with that. So, it's beat the undefeated Colts on the road or kiss the playoffs goodbye. Should be quite a game.

BigChiefFan 11-29-2009 08:46 PM

It's funny to see Fisher be able to flip-flop on his QB and still win games. Last year Young was in the doghouse, now he might be saving Fisher's job.

Pioli Zombie 11-29-2009 09:00 PM

Its a riot how the same announcers who said 6 weeks ago that Young couldn't make it in Tennessee are now all saying "he should have been playing all along"

In fairness it was the right thing to do to start the season with Collins. He earned that right with the season he had last year.

Where I think Fisher made a mistake was by sticking with him 1 or 2 games too long.

TEX 11-29-2009 11:34 PM

Living in Houston, I've seen Vince play since his Madison HS days. There was always "something" special about him. The guy is simply a winner. He has won at every level and has the uncanny ability to be at his best on the biggest of stages. He also has the ability to make those around him better. He's not conventional, but he has a way of seizing the moment and making the most of it. He'll also cause you to remember it. That guy definately has what it takes.

CoMoChief 11-29-2009 11:41 PM

I got the shit neg repd outa me when I said give him a chance to play and use his legs and he'd be successful, and it'd be stupid not to start him since they were 0-6, It's amazing how many people here jump ship once a young player hits a wall or starts playing bad.

Pioli Zombie 11-30-2009 06:51 AM

And its amazing how now he's Peyton Manning and "I always knew he was great". NOBODY was saying this 5 weeks ago. Not an announcer, not a writer, not a fan. NOBODY. This came outta nowhere. Its all Vince Youngs to enjoy. NOBODY can take credit for knowing shit because this guy didn't have a friend in the world 5 weeks ago. Hope they stick it to the Colts and go to the playoffs. A great story.

Let's not get too crazy, before this week... VY was more bus driver than magician. This week, he did have one hell of a game though.

In TN's first 6 games... Chris Johnson had carries of 15, 16, 22, 16, 9 and 17.

In TN's last 5 games... Chris Johnson has carries of 24, 25, 26, 29 and 18. Johnson has 800 of his 1300 rushing yards during the last 5 games, as well as 168 of his 294 receiving yards and 7 of his 10 TDs. They've changed their focus a bit and regrouped as a team with the QB change. But, all that being said... Vince hasn't done anything to lose the games and he did play very well yesterday.

But, the 5-0 run isn't happening because of the QB switch on it own...

No it's not. But you have to also include VYs timely runs and lack of turnovers. He's been the catalyst of their turnaround. And has been stated already, all the guy does is win.

Well, there's a reason he was benched in the first place... he's not the next great thing at QB. And, yes... as long as he's not the primary option on offense, he is a winner.

Again, let's not confuse things... compare the first 6 games to the last 5 games, it's not even close as far as what they were asking Collins to do compared to Vince.

Through the first 6 - Collins completed 108 of 197 pass attempts for over 1,000 yards, 5 TDs and 8 INTs (that's what lost his job)

Through the last 5 - Young completed 56 of 89 for just over 600 yards, 5 TDs and 2 INTs. VY also has 40 rushes for 159 yards. Again, it's not the same offense and it's because Chris Johnson is a freak compared to the first half of the season and the young WRs like Britt are maturing.

I'd be interested to see if their third down conversion rate has changed much. Watching the games, it seems like Vince is at his best on third down, running or passing just enough to convert. More first downs would translate into a lot more rushing attempts, better defensive performance, and greater time of possession.

Hmmm... I don't know how to find those stats, they may be easy to find on NFL.com or PFR... not sure.

I was there! Got a call on Friday that a buddy of mine got 4 tickets from his casino host. Pretty cool stadium... a lot like Heinz Field

correct me if im wrong but, on a 99 yard drive that has 94 yards passing the QB would be the primary option, NO?

Ok, I said he played a great game yesterday... he had a hell of a drive and yes, he was a big part of that drive. But, to suggest that the 5-0 streak is all VY... that's a bit silly to me. Until yesterday, VY was a bus driver.

The Franchise 11-30-2009 12:28 PM

A backfield that has Vince Young and Chris Johnson is ****ing scary.....

Still....**** Vince Young. I started the Cardinals defense in FF this week.
